Mys'ketay awoke with a small scream. She had once again travled to the darker time in her life when her father had treated her as a slave in her dreams. As she wiped her tired eyes with her paws she looked around her. It was still rather early in the morning, but the day was beginning to heat up fairly quickly. Maybe today she would just find a tree to lay under and pass the day away. Mys'ketay stood up and walked over to a small watering hole that had only been a couple feet from where she had fallen asleep the night before. She took a few gulps of water and then looked out at the plains. There were no other animals around yet, but she knew that in a few hours that would all change.
A few moments later Mys'ketay began walking towards the spot she had last seen some antelope sleeping the night before to see if they were still there. She had recently learned how to hunt thanks to a male lion and she hoped to put her new skills to good use. However, when she arrived at the spot they had long since moved on. "Well... I guess I must continue my journey for some breakfast." She spoke softly as she heard her stomach grumble at her in anger. Mys'ketay began sniffing around and looked for tracks that could lead her to the first meal of the day.

Itumeleng being new and all decided that it would do him some good if he went exploring. He wanted to get to know the surroundings and perhaps make a friend or two and exploring was the first step in making some friends. He walked around plains his tail swishing to and fro idly. He listened to the rest of the animals that lived on the plains. He paused and sniffed at the air, there was scent alright but it was unfamiliar to him. It didn't smell like a meal it smelled more like a lion. "hmm.. I wonder what that could be, I guess I will have to continue and find out"

Mys'ketay continued to track the antelope with a decent walking speed. She could tell by their tracks that they had only left about twenty minutes before and that one of them was injured. That one would be her first meal for the day. As she continued to walk she could feel herself getting excited about having a good meal in her stomach. However, as she sniffed the air once more she could smell the scent of another lion close by. Unsure of what to do, she decided she would go for the direct approach. "Who is out there?" She yelled only loud enough for the lion to hear. She didn't want to scare her meal after all. Mys'ketay hoped that whoever it was they would not keep her from her first meal of the day. Otherwise, she would have to consider them for the first meal of the day.

Itumeleng paused and listened before thinking about replying "Well, i'm definitely not a meal..but I am a lion" he said before appearing over a small hill on the path he was walking. "you don't need to yell" he told her his tail swishing to and fro idly.

Mys'ketay looked over to where the lion appeared. When he spoke she was slightly confused at how he had managed to get so close to her all of a sudden. When she had smelt his scent he didn't smell that close. Maybe her nose was off. "Well I did not know how far away you were." She spoke plainly as she looked at the male with a unreadable fear. Mys'ketay did not move, but she made sure she kept a close eye on the male just in case he tried to take her captive. She would never allow that to happen to herself again.

Itumeleng taking a few seconds to observe her actions noticed some fear in her eyes and decided to back off a bit so he wasn't intimidating her "My apologies..if I took you by surprise, that was not my intention" he said stepping back from his previous spot. The lioness was afraid of something but he couldn't put a paw on it so he decided to give her some room.

Mys'ketay watched the male in confusion. Was he able to read her mind? For a moment she forgot that he was male and that at any moment he could try to over power her, and most likely win. "Well..." She said, unsure of what to say to him. "What do you want?" Mys'ketay asked as she stood, back straight, ready for anything he tossed at her.

Itumeleng shook his head "i want nothing..I just want to make friends is all" he told her before walking past her towards the water hole. So much exploring tires one out. He flicked his tail lowered to take a drink from the water hole and then lying on his stomach

Mys'ketay watched as the male lion walked back towards the watering hole. She looked in the direction where the antelope had gone, and knew that they were beyond her reach now. She didn't have much of a choice but to go and lay under a tree. Mys'ketay followed slowly behind the male and laid under a tree that was a couple feet away from the drinking hole. "I have a hard time believeing you. All males are the same." She said truthfully.

Itumeleng shook his head "that's not all true...that's just what you have taught yourself" he told her. Yes..for a lion,he was both well mannered and wise in some parts. He flicked his tail and watches small ripples in the watering hole. "how can you generalize a gender if you do not open up and see what males are like, each male are different in their own way" he told her

Mys'ketay looked at him like he had been deprived of oxygen when he was a cub. "Well, when a male proves me wrong about that I will let you know." She said with a slightly angry tone. This lion knew nothing of her past and therefore he had no right to say she couldn't judge every male as being the same. "And I seriously doubt all males are different. You for instance are a male who probably leads others to believe that you are a good guy. But deep down I bet you are as cold as the rain god." Mys'ketay said as she looked away from him.

Itumeleng sighs a bit "well, okay then whatever you say" he said. He paused to think of a different approach on the subject, she clearly didn't take into heart what he was telling her. "If I was interrupting your hunt for breakfast by showing up, I'm sorry..that was not my intention..I was just exploring the different terrains" he told her.
"from what I can see from the way you acted you are living your present life based off your past life, and thinking like that will never get you anywhere" he told her before stretching out.

Mys'ketay sighed as the male talked about interrupting her meal. "You were not interuppting. I am still a terrible hunter." She said honestly. Her blue eyes squinted slightly with anger as she looked up at the lion. "How I choose to live my life is my decision to make. Not your's. Also, why do you really care?" Mys'ketay asked curiously. This male knew nothing of her life, past or present. So how could he judge how she was choosing to live it?

Itumeleng stepped back a bit glancing at her "I didn't mean to tell you how to run your life" he told her. "i'm just saying from my observation of how you act and your trust issues" he said. "I just want you to live your life to the fullest..that is all" he told her before striding down the path.

Mys'ketay did not feel that the male had explained himself enough, however, she would not ask him of it anymore. She followed after him with a weary look. "Well where are you going?" Mys'ketay asked while she lingered after him.
