The sun was shining through the trees outside of the shop where he was visiting. He had helped one of his housemates clean up her garden. He just saw her off when he relaxed against the tree close by. "Another hard working day..." He sighed as he looked up at the leaves. He had been hurt by a vixen called Rina when he was younger. It resulted in his have three children of his own, but only one had stayed with him while the other two were taken away. He was still emotionally hurt, but had to get out of the rut called depression.

Where had that bloody bug gone?! Well, to be fair, technically he wasn't precisely a bug, lacking compound eyes and a proboscis. And technically being a chilopod, to boot. The point, however, was that the poor dear had escaped and if anyone were to find him...well, Cardi had better make sure he wasn't caught and squished like a...like a bug!
It was a fine sunny day, anyway, and it was nice to get away from the house. Especially from the odd noodles now living there. Jamie had gotten offended when she tried to examine her barnacles, and as for the new guy...well! He wouldn't last long, that was all that Cardi was thinking.
If I were a seventeen-and-a-half-inch long centipede, where would I be...? Cardi wondered. Without really looking, she found herself at the shop, peering into the bushes on the offhand that he might be hiding there.

Katsuo yawned, covering his mouth with his paw. He heard the sound of rustling bushes close by. He noticed a vixen of white and other sades of red, orange, and yellow. Moving from the tree he was leaning against, he moved over towards she was searching. "Everything alright, Miss?" Asking as he looked at her from behind. His tail swished lightly.

Cardi's ears flicked as she heard another fox ask her about...something. She wasn't quite paying attention. Where could little Ben have gone? "Yeah, yeah, sure, everything's fine," she replied absently. "Say, you wouldn't happen to have seen a centipede, would you?" She straightened and turned towards the stranger, holding her paws a foot and a half apart. "Yay long, about this wide around?" She held up her thumb and forefinger in a wide O shape. "Only, he seems to have escaped. Named Ben, or Benny."

Tapping his chin, Katsuo shook his head with a frown. "Perhaps your Benny could be looking for someplace to eat?" Asking then his ears perked up with a oh-crap expression. He moved towards the garden, looking around the vegetables and fruits to see if the little ben had been there. "What does Benny eat?"

Cardi didn't even notice the panicky look on his face. She just didn't understand why other noodles reacted with fear and panic to centipedes. Sure, they were venemous, but they were hardly fatal. "Most centipedes eat soft-bodied bugs, spiders, worms, that sort of thing," she explained, continuing to search. "But Benny accidentally got in the way of one of Lamia's spells, so he's much bigger than he used to be. He might start preying on birds and frogs and suchlike. If you find him, just give me a shout. You don't want to be bitten by him."

Katsuo sighed in relief then looked back at her. "That's good to know what he eats. I would rather not want Benny to eat the garden I'm looking after." He spoke with a smile as he walked over to her. His tail swished as he thought of possible places of where Benny could be. "Perhaps he has gone into the forest for prey to eat?" He suggested as he got onto all fours as he headed off deeper into the woods. He searched for any signs of fallen feathers or blood.

Cardi couldn't help but laugh. "The garden? Oh, no, sir, centipedes are carnivorous. Some species will resort to eating vegetation, but only when desperate. Benny's species is one of the all-carnivorous ones, though. Makes you wonder why people hate them so much if they hardly do any damage to crops." That was Cardiarthre all over. She didn't really understand people--they didn't do much that made any sense at all. Why be afraid of a venomous creature that moved quickly in an odd way? The idea of inherent creepiness was foreign to her.
She nodded thoughtfully. "That's a possibility. I guess. But I think I'll check here, then try the woods. This is closer."

"Carnivorous? Very interesting. How about I look in the woods and we could meet there?" Katsuo suggested as he looked at her. She seemed really frazzled to have lost her centipede, Benny. He wanted to make sure he helped her get it back before something happened to it.
There was no sigh of fallen feathers or struggle in the dirt he walked on. His tail swished as he looked around in the bushes and up the trees.

"Nah, I can find him on my--" Cardi began. When she turned to speak to the male, she found that he had already left. She snarled in disgust. Just like another to just pretend that they knew what they were doing and leave for the hell of it! Stupid, stupid foxes, other people always pretending to be so smart...
In anger, Cardi viciously kicked a bucket lying on the ground. The rusty thing flew away with a clang. Beneath it, curling from his position, was the familiar red-gold exoskeleton of her favorite pet.

Katsuo didn't find the centipede that Cardi was speaking of. His ears perked up when he found a rather small centipede. His tail swished as he picked it from the ground. It was smaller than his paw. He smiled as he brought it back to see if he had found the right one.
"Cardi, could this be Benny?" Holds out the small centipede only to see the larger one that was close to her. He saw the rusty bucket was kicked and his ears drooped. "I apologize for leaving..." He says as he holds onto the tiny centipede.

Cardi fished around in her satchel for the shoebox she had grabbed before leaving the house. She sighed. A shoebox was hardly the most secure container in the world, but there was no helping that. She just had to hope that he had the good sense to stay in the box. I should put some food in there so he doesn't want to-- "Hey, come back here!" she said, her thoughts interrupted. She opened the box and gently put it in front of the enormous centipede, using the box lid to gingerly herd him into the box. With the lid closed, she stood up and turned to face the male.
Wait a second, haven't I met him before? He was the really polite guy at the shop who had no reason to. Kasey, or Katso, or something like that...Well, apparently, he remembered my name, Cardi thought. "No, no, it's okay," she replied with an easy shrug. "Oo, can I see that one?" She set the box down on the ground and walked over to...whatever his name was, there was no way she was going to admit that she forgot his name...and opened his hand to peer at the tiny creature.

Katsuo held the tiny centipede for Cardi to be able to see clearly. "I found this little guy in a bush when I was looking for your Benny. Did you find him perchance?" He explained then asked as he looked over at the shoe box. His tail swished as he thought about the empty fish tank he had back at his home. He wondered if she would be interested in wanting it for Benny. "Do you think a glass container of a large size and a mesh cover would be something better than a shoe box for the centipede?" Asking as he felt the tiny feet move across his hand, tickling him.

"Yeah, I found him. He was hiding under the bucket. Don't ask me how he got under there," Cardi murmured distractedly. She delicately scooped up the centipede in...Okay, that was starting to bother her. Katso, I'll just call him Katso. "I just hope he doesn't escape from the box.
She looked up at Katso and nodded at his question. "Yeah, it's better, but it's also heavier. Hard to carry around a big ol' tank when you're searching for a bug who knows where. Well, not a bug," she corrected herself quickly. "Centipedes are not members of the order Hemiptera, they're--" She shook her head vigorously. "But I'm boring you. Yes, a glass tank is better, and thanks for reminding me: I need to get a new one. His is a bit small for him since the accident."

Katsuo chuckled as she spoke of where Benny had been. "At least he wasn't snatched by any animals that would wish harm onto him." Saying as he watched her look over the little centipede. Tapping his chin as he thought of another kind of carrier that would be best for Cari and her Benny. "What about one of those medium sized carriers they have for fish and small reptiles? The plastic ones with the plastic dome cover that opens to be able to feed them?" Asking as he tried to explain what he was talking about.
Nodding at her words of wisdom, "What of one to have at home and a travel carrier for when you take him with you? Wouldn't that work?" Asking as he watched the shoebox. Making sure the centipede would escape and have him to be looked for again. "I'm sure he'll go back to regular size soon, right?"
