(RP with Shane and Pyren)
"Aren't you a little old to be playing with this stuff?"
"Isn't it kinda creepy that your playing with it, too?"
"Point taken."
Crow discreetly discarded the doll whose hair she'd been braiding, looking amused. Lenore was in the middle of a complicated game that involved a toy pirate ship, a couple troll dolls, and a stuffed bat with an eyepatch.
"What is that, anyway?" Crow asked.
Lenore scoffed.
"You wouldn't get it if I told you," she said dismissively. She looked around the large room briefly, wishing for some company other than her mother - adults just didn't understand pirates as much as they should.

Shane and Pyren came into the toy room early that morning. Shane wanted to get a good feel for the HQ, and hopefully find a nice place for Pyren to play that didn't have a basement that was currently undergoing renovation.
Pyren was wide awake as Shane started wandering around the HQ. He was starting to get restless though and started sqirming in Shane's arms, which made Shane quickly poke his head into the toy room in hopes that this would contain something to entertain Pyren.
Shane's guess had been so acurate that it was almost scary to him. It was a room full of toys and brightly coloured wall paintings and other distractable colours.
"Well...this looks promising now doesn't it Pyren?" Shane asked the boy as he placed him down on the floor.
It was more than just promising to Pyren; it was nothing short of being perfect. Not only were there toys everywhere, but there was even another person here too. However, right now Pyren was in the mood to make some noise, so he crawled his way over to the closest musical instrument he could find. He soon layed his eyes upon a simple finger xilophone which he began to mash the keys of and attempt to sing along with the notes he was playing.

"Huh?"
Her game disrupted by the unexpected noise, Len glanced over at the source.
"Oh. Baby."
Abandoning the toys to investigate, she sat down next to the little critter and watched him play.
"My name's Lenore, what's yours?"
Crow looked over at the source of the noise as well, charmed. Lenore had never done stuff like that when she was a baby... Getting up, she grinned at the new guy and stuck out her hand.
"Hey! New guardian, huh? My name's Crow. Nice to meet you," she said.

Pyren looked up from his 'music' and into the face of an older girl with interesting looking wings. Pyren hadn't been asked his name before, so it took him a while to get the word out properly.
"Pyen!" was what he finally managed to blurt out loudly, before he started playing his song again and singing to made up lyrics that had no rhyem or sense to them except for the fact that the words 'Pyen', 'Nor' and 'Daddy' were always mixed in with some random animals and their corosponding noises.
Shane politely shook Crow's hand and smiled.
"Yeah, I'm new here." he admited with a bit of a blush, "Nice to meet you too Crow, my name's Shane." he said and looked over to where Lenore and Pyren were playing. Lenore was clearly older than Pyren, and Crow was clearly younger than Shane. Yet, it seemed that Crow wasn't doing a bad job of raising Lenore at all, no matter how young she was. He wondered for a second, and then came upon the question that was bugging him ever since he saw the first sentinel's eyes glow.
"So...how did you get her anyways?" he wondered, motioning over to Lenore, hoping to find some security in her story.

"Pyen? That's nice." Len said over the din. Quieting down so that she wouldn't interrupt the music, she continued to watch the baby play. She hummed a bit in tune with the song (in the few parts she could follow), and soon started singing along with him.
Caught a bit off guard by the sudden question, Crow smiled at the memory.
"I was looking for a coffee shop, actually," she said. "I go in, see the cat-thing, cat-thing starts glowing, and all of a sudden, poof! I get a baby."
She laughed, shaking her head slightly.
"She'd only been there a couple days - the witch who made her dumped her there out on the sidewalk. Didn't even bother to bring her inside." Crow added, the smile fading slightly at the thought and her expression tightening. Shaking herself back into the present, she grinned at Shane again.
"What about you? Didja make him or adopt him?"

Shane was relived at the fact that he wasn't the only one that had unexpectidly got a baby out of his experiance. He actually chuckled a little at the fact that Crow didn't even know it was a potion shop.
At Crow's question though, Shane had to shake his head, still smiling however. "No I didn't make him; but I know so little about magic that I very well could have. I basically went in there to look for a quick fix for my bike, and came out with him too." Shane looked again over at Pryen and Lenore.
"I don't know his story however, but I very well intend to find out." he thought aloud, suposing Jabir would probably know the details. "I only got him about two days ago really, and already he's started to acknowledge his name and me being his father."
Pyren giggled that Len was following his music, so he played it louder until, finally he stopped on a note that didn't really seem to be the right note to stop on. Pyren was in the mood to share though, so he pushed the toy xilaphone over to Lennore.
"You pway!" he demanded to Len, anxiouse to see an older person play a song

Len smiled slightly at the order.
"If you insist," she said. Pulling the xylophone over, she ran a finger over the colorful metal bars before starting to plink out a tune. The notes were careful and deliberate, and grew louder as she got used to the new instrument.
Crow nodded, glancing sidelong at Lenore and her little companion.
"I know about as much magic as a wet paper bag," she said. "No wonder I was oblivious when I went into the shop."
She looked at the little boy in interest.
"Huh. He's a cutie - kinda reminds me of a robot, though. What's he made from?"

Shane was even more relived that Crow knew even less about magic than he did, that he found himself colapsing to the floor in releif, almost forgetting to catch himself.
"Whew!" he exclaimed "That's good to hear then. I was so worried that there had been some kind of mistake when they gave him to me." he said, starting to laugh a bit "Now at least I feel better, looking at how well you seem to have raised Lenore, knowing that magic isn't a requirement."
Shane looked over now to watch Pyren and Lenore playing together.
"Yeah, Jabir said Pyren had been made from an MP3 player. Now, this is comming from me, but doesn't that strike you as well as being a little odd?" he asked, hopeing to possibly gain more speculation of who Pyren's creator really was.
Pyren began to clap along with Len's tune as Lenore became more and more confident with the instrument. He eventually got to the point where he tried to put his own lyrics overtop of what Len was playing. The lyrics sounded exactly the same as the previouse ones he used, and his singing was completely off pitch, but it didn't matter to Pyren; he was having too much fun.

Lenore kept the tune going as the baby added in. Humming along, she soon lapsed into song again herself.
"An MP3 player? How freakin' cool is that..." Crow said, eyeing the boy's strange features with interest. "Eh, to be honest, I've seen stranger. There's a little girl here that has a teacup attached to her, and there's a boy with a tyrannosaur sticking out of the back of his head. An MP3-player baby isn't that odd."
Her gaze shifted over to Lenore, who was in the middle of performing for the boy.
"Len's got a hanged man's skull to make her bones. I mean, c'mon. Neat, but kinda morbid. Witches an' all of those spellcaster types use weird ingredients."

Pyren began to laugh with glee at Lenore's song. He found it to be much better than the song he made. Alot of the words Lenore was singing he couldn't pronounce yet so when she started singing again, he reduced his participation to clapping and making incomprehensible baby sounds.
Shane pictured the other two Mishaps that Crow mentioned and suddenly didn't find Pyren's MP3 player to be as suspicouse; especially when it came to the girl with the teacup.
When Crow mentioned that Lenore had a hanged man's skull in her, he vaguely wondered if the componants in the Mishaps had any effect on their personality; and if they did, what would a hanged man's skull say about Lenore. He decided to voice this question, after letting it sit in his mind for a while, but just worded simply as
"Does she know?"

"-But an eerie tale to tell, ay at the end of seven years we pay a tiend to Hell-" Len sang, smiling at the baby. Adjusting the tinkling melody on the xylophone to keep up with his clapping, she kept singing. She liked to sing anyway- it wasn't every day that she did duets.
Crow shrugged, shaking her head.
"Never brought it up. Some ingredients affect 'em more than others - I mean, she's got those wings, that's from the knife that was thrown in. She's a sweet kid. Kinda dark and serious, but wouldn't hurt a fly on purpose." She said to Shane. "But they're all unique - who knows what'll happen with her, who know's what'll happen with him."

Shane nodded, finally understanding that the Mishaps really weren't any different from normal humans. In apperance and ability, sure, they had their unique traits; but so did everything else in the world. Shane came to the conclusion that he'd just have to be a good guardian, and guide Pyren in the right direction, and as he looked over at both him and Len, he figured that it wouldn't be too hard.
Shane looked over to Crow and chuckled
"They seem to get along well don't they?" he asked, as he began to walk over to the two Mishaps.
Pyren's voice was getting tired from all the singing, so he reduced his musical participation to just clapping now, but even now his arms were getting a little tired. When Pyren noticed Shane getting closer to him, he looked up and pointed to Lenore and said.
"Daddy! Nor pway!" he announced to Shane
Shane smiled to Pryen and Lenore
"Looks like you have a fan Len." he said listning to Lenore's tune, which he had to admit wasn't that bad.

"She's good with young kids most of the time," Crow said, following Shane.
Len paused her playing and looked up at Shane.
"He likes music. I like him." She said clearly.
"Len, introduce yourself."
Len stood and curtsied, looking very serious.
"My name's Lenore. Nice to meet you," she said, before plunking back down to the floor and pulling the xylophone towards her again. Restarting her song, she frowned as she tried to remember the notes and started plinking them out again.

"Nice to meet you Lenore." Shane replyed "And he certainly does enjoy music.
Pyren's brain made a quick connection there and he spoke again.
"Nore zic good!" he complimented Len as she began to play again and he tried and failed to sing along with her words for the second time.
When Pyren noticed that Lenore was having trouble remembering her notes though, he crawled himself over to the xilophone, and miraculously tapped the right note.
Shane was immediatly taken aback by Pyren's accurate music playback of Lenore's small tune, that for a moment he just stared in wonder at the boy
