Chao yawned and stretched from her seat on the polished floor, bouncing her youngest child gently in her lap to help ease the pins and needles that were pricking at her rump from sitting and listening for so long. The bounce was rewarded with a smile and a giggle from Cheshire. "So Chesh, are you enjoying your brother's music?"
"Reid," Cheshire replied quietly, spreading out his brother's name to match the gently beat of the melody Reid was playing from the (currently shrunken) piano.
Reid didn't look up at his family's converation, currently lost in the melody his fingers were tapping out across the piano's keys and the way it echoed gently around the huge nearly deserted room.

Pushing a rather top heavy stroller along through the many corridors of headquaters, Kay stopped at yet another door and pushed it open. "Maybe this is the kitchen in here?" she said bending over the stroller to look at her tiny charge upsidedown.
"Mph" Delphine agreed from around poor Roo's ear that she was currently chewing away on.
Pushing open the door and edging the stroller in, Kay looked around. "Oh" was all she could say as she looked around at the huge expanse of ballroom. Her ears picked up the sound of music and she spotted the group sitting in the ballroom. "Should we go over and meet them?" Kay asked Delphi, her confidence slightly boosted after her first meeting with another guardian. "It would be nice to meet new people yes?"
"Bah! Ishiie!" Delphi emphatically agreed, releasing Roo's drool covered ear from her mouth.
Taking heart at her mishap's outgoing nature Kay wheeled the stroller closer to the group, pausing before she could blurt out a hello. It would be rude to interupt the little concert going on.

Cheshire was the first to hear the slight sound of the stroller break through the sound of his brother's music. Looking around in front of himself for a moment and seeing no one new he huffed then quickly climbed up his mother's shirt, causing the poor teen to grimace as her chest was used as a climbing exercise, before his grey eyes peered over her shoulder.
Well hello, look! New people! The Passenger barely kept himself from blurting their names as they ran through his mind, bouncing with his brother's melody. Kay and Delphine~.
The Passenger settled for waving energeticly at them instead.
Chao, glanced over her free shoulder, smiling in welcome to the newcomers.
The song finished and Reid smiled, pulling his fingers back from the keys and patted the top the piano fondly. He still wasn't quite out of the daze playing music always put him in and therefore was still oblivious to the added members of the audience.

Delphine waved her arms wildly in an attempt to copy Cheshire. "Bah!" she blurbled excitedly, it was fun meeting new people.
Kay gave a smile and a wave back, and then gave Reid a little round of applause. "Are all the mishaps so talented?" she asked the group in general, figuring the tiny winged person, to her the strangest one in the group, had to be a mishap and if she was wrong well someone would correct her and there'd be no harm done.
Delphine ceased her crazy arm waving movements, - not a moment to soon as poor Roo was about to be violently evicted from the stroller; as her mama clapped. "Oooh" she blurbled and again copied, clapping was something she already knew how do do well. Looking rather pleased with herself she eyed the group with her kitty-like eyes. There was a big person like mama, and two-little people - one of them, her kitty eyes noticed as her tail gave an excited twitch was very tiny indeed.

Reid blinked away from his piano and a low flush colored his cheeks at the applause. Curiously he tilted his head at the new people.
Chao grinned, beaming with the gaze of a proud mother, her wings twitched a tiny bit, but she kept them from speading out too far, "heh, it seems like many of them are."
Finally! Time to speak! "Kay! Delphine!" Cheshire crowed, clapping his hands and then sat back, looking extremely satisfied with himself.
Chao grimaced and pondered hitting her head against the floor, but thought better of that, "ehheh, erm, yes, hello then. I'm Chao and this is-"
"Avery."
"Che-Avery," Chao repeated, nearly stumbling as she tried to use both of her son's names at once. "And the pianist is-"
"Reid," Reid called out and waved to the now (sortof) introduced people.
"-it's nice to meet you, erm... Kay and Delphine, yes?" her cheeks flushed slightly and she hoped Cheshire hadn't yelled out the wrong names.

Kay seemed rather pleased that she was right about Reid being a mishap so she grinned back at Chao. At the other child's outburst of their names however, the grinned slipped off her face and was replaced by a look of complete and utter shock. How did this child know their names already?
Delphi stopped staring intently at Reid at the sound of her name. She liked it when people talked to her. She uncurled her legs and kicked them excitedly looking around for where the voice had come from. It was the other little person she decided and so waved her arms wildly at him hoping for attention.
"Us yes, I'm Kay and this is Delphine." Kay replied motioning to the stroller. "But uh how? Um.." She stumbled over her words, suprisingly confused for someone who did the same knowing things before she was told thing on a fairly regular basis.

Chao's flush darkened and she scratched at one cheek, "I don't know, he just sortof seems to know these... things, names I mean."
Reid watched his mother flouder, sparing her a amused-if-vaguely-concerned look before the wild arm waving caught his eye. Leaving the piano stoll fully he jumped into the air and flew over to her. Behind him the piano and stool slowly stretched back to their full size.
Cheshire looked at the adults curiously, vaguely wondering what all the fuss was about before he shook his head. Big people, so weird. Idly he began to search through his large coat's pockets for some paper.

"Ah." Kay blushed, embarassed at her shocked outburst, "I'm sorry - it really shouldn't have suprised me that much, I do a similar thing sometimes, although never as easily." Her eyes followed Reid as he flew across towards Delphine and flicked back towards the piano when it 'grew'. Obviously she was going to have to get used to wierd things happenning while she was living in headquaters.
Delphine squealed with delight as the tiny mishap flew towards her, she ceased thrashing and waving and watched him closely, her kitty-tail giving the occasional twitch. What was the tiny thing going to do? Was he going to make more pretty noises? She wondered.
"I'd be carefull around Delphi." Kay warned Reid. "Lately she's been figuring out what new things are by putting them in her mouth."

Chao nodded in symphathy, "it's really alright, this is only the second time he's done it, so it surprised me to."
Comepletly oblivious Cheshire pulled out several pieces of paper and hugged them to his chest.
Reid blinked and nodded at Kay and landed a small ways away from Delphi, close enough to talk, but if she tried to put him in her mouth he could probably get away in time, "hallo Dephi," he greeted with a smile.

Delphi clapped her hands together gleefully as the tiny person spoke her name. Tilting her head to one side she watched him carefully, wrapping her arms and long legs around Roo. He was a little person, but he seemed more like a big person. "Bah?" She blurbled questioningly removing one hand from Roo to wave at him.
"I take it Avery's not a mishap then?" Kay said doing a smiliar head tilt to Delphine as she looked at the other child.

Avery, grinned and looked up as the woman spoke the name he'd given and proudly displayed the strips of paper to her before pressing them to the ground and beginning to fold them.
Deciding that the other Mishap didn't really look intent on eating him Reid flew a bit closer, "Delphi's so frilly..." Reid observed with a blink as he stood on the edge of the stroller. He'd never seen a Mishap with frills.
"Did Delphi like the music?" he gestured to the back-to-its-normal-size piano.
Chao laughed and ruffled his hair, idly wondering why her son had given out a different name to the other duo, "nope, he's a 'Passenger', or so we're calling them." She glanced over to Delphi and Reid, taking in the younger child's spikes and fins curiously, "but I take it Delphi is a Mishap...?"

"Illly?" Delphine echoed Reid. Did he like her fins? Deciding he did she fluffed them proudly. They were rather pretty. At the gesture to the piano Delphi looked at it suprised for a moment, it was bigger! Could Reid grow bigger too she wondered? Was he going to make that nice sound again? Deciding she'd like that she clapped her hands, awkward big baby claps, hoping to encourage him to do so.
"Yup Delphi is a mishap." Kay replied watching 'Avery' fold the paper with interest. "It's interesting how they're all so different." She said motioning to Delphi and Reid.

Haze was greatly relieved that Retta's growth also entailed better mobility. It was rather difficult to get the stroller down the flight of stairs, well not entirely too difficult as Retta wasn't all that heavy. But the stroller was rather cumbersome all the same.
"You wish to go to the ballroom, and no longer the library?" She asked her charge, brow quirked at Retta's decision.
Retta nodded, there were so many places she wanted to go to and look around for herself. But she learned it would be best if Haze was with her, that way someone could take responsibility for her. She had left Crimson in the room, deciding that while the puff would make an excellent conversation piece, she was too easily distracted by its presence.
"Yes'm." Came her soft bleat, she still retained some of her infant habits. As they approached the ballroom, they heard voices and music. Retta's ears wiggled in curiosity.
New people? Hooray! She'd be able to practice the manners Haze taught her.

((freedom! -cheers over vacation- sorry for being so slow, Seer, Huni -should be less sporatic with posts now- <3))
Reid laughed warmly she Delphi fluffed up, "Delphi's very shiny-pretty," he concluded with a nod, reaching out to gently touch one of the fins, just incase Delphi didn't like them being touched (after all, he didn't like it when people touched his antenae).
At the claps he smiled, wings fluttering a tiny bit in pride as Delphi was apparently into the idea of more music. Looking up to Kay he tilted his head, "could Delphi come over to the piano and play with me?"
Chao nodded, "I know, honestly I think this may be the most diverse place in Gaia... or at least the most diverse I've ever been to."
Avery hummed and finished folding the paper. In his hands was a small, pokadotted, origami fish.
Standing he toddled over, mostly steady on his feet and presented the fish to Delphi. "For Delphi," he said, gaining a hair ruffle from his older brother.
At the echoing voices of new people from outside the ballroom he perked and looked towards the door.
