Snow.

Demetre had never been out in the snow before.

She was dressed up in brand new, puffy, very warm, and very waterproof clothing and was currently sitting on the edge of a playground, a soft smile on her face as she built up a 'castle' of snow that was really little more than a hill. Her grandfather sat behind her, arms wrapped around her small body, a faint smile on his face as he watched her play. He didn't know what it was that had him so protective at the moment. Well... he knew what had caused it, yes, but he had no reason to worry about Demetre at the moment. He was just tired from a long, sleepless night at the hospital and terribly worried about his grandson.

Periodically, the phone in his pocket would vibrate. Another update on Lirona's condition, more reason for him to worry, another grey hair to add to his growing collection. He let out a soft, quaky sigh. The young woman had taken to the drugs they'd used to delay the pregnancy, but it was still touch and go. That was the last update he'd gotten, and his heart was pounding for the next step, to hear that the baby was going to be alright. He was too tired and too scared to think about Aludra, or about how mad at him he was. All of himself was being put towards hoping and praying for Lirona and the baby to be alright.
