[Whoot! First post! Ahem... Sorry... Cato's Kid Quest!] Salem looked around the caves as he entered, holding his frightened toddler close. He went as deep as he could without making any turns before setting the kid down. "Heh... I've had to do this with drider before, but never from the mouth... I'm sure it works the same though!" He quickly added as he saw his toddler's eyes widen. Gently he put the little one down and sighed, taking in the area.Cato whimpered softly as he was placed on the ground. He was scared, but Daddy said it was going to be alright, right? Yeah... Everything was going to be okay...Salem walked over to the wall that came in at the sharpest angle so it made almost a small hole. That would have to do. "Alright, Cato. Come here. This is what I want you to do. I want you to take the sticky stuff in one hand and then stretch it out and stick it here." He pointed to a spot on the floor. "Then streatch it out to here." He pointed to a spot diagonal and higher up from the floor. "Then you need to cut it with your teeth, okay? I'm teaching you how to make a web. You're going to have to learn to stop making the stuff with practice and this is how we're going to do it."The toddler looked a little unsure, but did as he was told. He took a wade of the stuff and pulled it out almost like one would gum. Then he mooshed the end against the floor with the finger that came around to work as his thumb. He then pulled more out and stretched it up to the higher spot on the wall before starting to chew on the web to try and cut it. The toddler whined as it proved to be difficult. He was only chewing up and down instead of trying to grind his teeth together

Following Blank's lead Catherine rode steadily on her broom, her long black hankercheif skirt flowing gracefully in the wind. She was in no condition to walk so flying was the best option. On her lap was Nariko, who was just wearing a light blue jumper and a white tank, and sitting behind her was Rapheal, who was holding in his own lap a large bag filled with Japanese take out. " I still can't believe you went and ordered food without asking!"
"I still can't believe you didn't tell me that you were having triplets mama!" Flying beside's her family with Al in her arms, she looked a little stressed. Her hair was tied up into pigtails, and she was wearing a simple pair of blue jeans and a frilly peasant shirt.
"I was going to tell you, just not like that. Besides, it wasn't something you needed to know right away." Catherine sighed, holding onto Nariko so she was sitting steadily on the broom.
"I do need to know, because your my mama and that's how it works." She sighed rolling her eyes. Her mother's logic illuded her and her own way of thinking did about the same effect to Catherine.
Shaking her she laughed a bit. "Don't worry."
Garreth was making his best efforts to fly, or at least what little he learned from Gairbith. Flapping his wings, the young dragon grew tired and flopped onto the floor as they made the ascent up the stairs. "Mama, can I sit with you?" He said as he quickly shifted into his human form and without giving much of a warning he already climbed onto the front of the broom.
Catherine blinked as the broom immeadiatly dropped a foot in height. "Yipes! Baby, you gotta be careful." She said with a weary smile. "You might make mama sick.. and you know you don't want that."
Nariko looked horrified.
Aphrodite couldn't help but make her sister's expression, trying to change the subjst as she zoomed about. She quickly wondering what Cato's quest was. "Mama what do you thinks wrong with Cato that we gotta go all the way up into the mountains?"
Catherine took a minute to think, stroking Nariko's hair as the flew. "Well, this is a good opportunity to practice your divinations." Catherine smiled. "Calm down, and try to concentrate."
Sighing, Aphrodite did so, but it was proving to be difficult.
Though the answer came naturally to Nariko. "'Is mouth's stuck." She chirped and then grinned up at her mother.
Catherine merely blinked down at her youngest daughter with a smile. Finally arriving at their destination to see Cato's mouth stuck.
Aphrodite's jaw dropped.
"Well, we know who's going to be a seer." She laughed a bit, seeming to be more lighthearted and relax than she had been in months.

Blank lead the way to the mountain, looking back over his shoulder at all the others. "I'm real worried... I hope Cato will be okay..." Said the rag-doll as it flew on whip-like wings.
Upon entering the cave they'd find poor Salem trying to instruct his toddler how to cut the webbing with his teeth. It wasn't working very well... "Cato, you need to do it like this." The young cat-man bared his teeth and showed the toddler how he had to drag his teeth along each other, not move them up and down like actual chewing.
The toddler watched and then copied the motion, the sticky webbing in his mouth slowly started to sever. It took a bit but he eventually cut the webbing in this way.
"Good! That's it! Now, stick the extra to the wall and do that again, but this time from here to here." He pointed two points in the oppostie direction so that it would form an 'X'. "You're going to have to learn how to only make how much you need Cato so try really hard to start doing that." He smiled wearily at the bunch that entered. He was obviously in a good mood, but he was very tired from all the exitement and then the long walk to the caves. "Hey guys."
Blank quickly flew up to the two and landed near Cato, watching curiously, but not questioning him. He looked really busy and on top of that, it wasn't hard to tell what he was starting to do.

Catherine nodded, lifting up Nariko from off her lap with a heave, settling her down gently on the ground. "How's he doing babe?" She asked s she slowly lowered the broom she she could just step off. She waddled her way towards him, and stood by his side.
Rapheal hopped off the broom, bag of food in hand. His long blonde hair flowing behind him , he found a place to sit and merely waited for the other.
Garreth blinked as he was left on the broom, as soon as everyone got off it rose a few feet up into the air. "Maamaa... Maamaa" He whined, even though he was learning to fly, being on a broom was something different.
Catherine rubbed Salem's shoulder gently, before moving the few feet between her and the broom. Touching the tip of the broom stick to lower it, she then ruffled Garreth's mohawk and then silently moved back to Salem's side.
Nariko blinked a bit, toddled off to stand by her mother hiding beneath her skirt. She still hadn't forgiven Cato for what he did to Delphine and she figgured that he hadn't forgiven her for what she did to his face.

As soon as Garreth was taken care of the Cat-man hugged her as tightly as he would dare. "He's doing good. He's gotten the idea, now he just needs to practice till the webbing doesn't get all caught up in his mouth like it's doing." He looked over at the toddler to make sure he didn't get tangled again.
Once again he did as he was told, this time in the other direction. He ground the webbing loose from his mouth once again, faster this time sense he didn't chew first, but had just as much trouble actually cutting as the first time, then stuck the slack on the wall again.
"Now do another one that goes through the middle of the two and like a sideways line. Um... Like how the ground is!"Salem tried to explain without pointing this time.
Cato nodded slightly and looked at the wall. He chose a spot as far out as the ends of the first two and stretched it so that it stuck to where the other two had already stuck together then continued to stretch. This time he chewed the webbing free before sticking it to the wall.
The catfolk smiled proudly as he watched. "Yes, Cato, just like that! You're so smart!"

Catherine watched Cato, grasping Salem's hand. She turned to look, seeing under her skirt was a pair of little legs. "Nariko, why are you hiding?"
"Cuz when he's not stuck he gonna be mad at me for hittin' em." She said bluntly, quickly running away towards Rapheal and leaping into his lap. Her mama's henchman would keep things peacefull, it was something he was good at.
Garreth blinked watching Cato. He remembered watching Gel doing this. It was weird, becaus eit came out of her butt. "Go Cato! Be lucky it doesn't come outta yer butt!"
"Garreth!" Aphrodite shushed her brother. "Be nice to him." That was weird, Aphrodite was being nice to the Mishap who was at the beginning her scorn enemy? Or at least once or twice had tried to make a meal out of her.

Cato by now had gotten the hint and was already starting to streatch out the next string.
Salem gently gripped his lover's hand and watched the toddler with a smile. "Now one that goes up and down."
And so, Cato stuck the end of the webbing way up high above him, ran it down to the middle and stuck all that together. He ignored Nariko for the moment only to pause in his work. He looked over at Garreth with a look that just screamed 'What are you? Stupid?'. He had this horrible stuff in his mouth! Ugh... And so he grudgingly got back to work. He pulled out what he needed and once again cut it off before sticking it to the floor. It was starting to grow easier too!

Catherine furrowed her brow watching Cato with keen interest. She merely hoped his webbing problem would go away quickly. Smiling she tightened her grip on Salem's hand. "So, I assumed you got the news?" She watched Cato with worry.
Aphrodite hovered over her mother Salem, she wanted to know what was going on. Holding on to Al tightly she listened keenly.
'You know it's very rude to ease drop.'

He gave his lover's hand a gently squeeze before starting to move away. "Yeah, I heard. Sorry I didn't pick up the phone. Cato had been tangled up in the stuff at the time and I was trying to get it off." Coming over to his little one he pointed once again. "Now listen close Cato. You need to make circles now. Start out here. Go from this one to this one to this one to this one to..." And so Salem went from string to string all the way around so it would form a large circle towards the outside.
The toddler nodded and started to work, sticking one end of the webbing near the bottom of the vertical string before moving on to the next. And so we went, slowly making his way around, having a little trouble with the top end.
Coming back to Catherine once again he smiled sweetly down at her. "No wonder you look ready to pop so early. I'm happy for you, Cath-baby... Don't worry. I'll be there through the whole thing. Just put me on Lemon's speed dial and I'll come running!"

Catherine nodded. "Speaking of which, I need to call Aekea to see if they fixed him." She pouted. "Nariko was playing with him and he accidently collided with a wall while playing tag with her." She let out a heavy sigh.
Aphrodite was flying upside down, a high above her their heads. Her attention turned from their coversation to Cato's efforts at making a web. Which were commnig out alot better than she would've thought he would've done.

The catman nodded, smiling sweetly at his little witch. "Just be careful baby... If you're having that many, you're due anytime..." Looking back to his toddler he smiled almost weakly. All this was starting to stress him a bit. Gods... He'd kill for a cigarette... As he tried to ignore the slight trembling in his hands and the constant twitching of the end of his tail he instructed Cato further. "Blank, Show him a few inches further in. A little more... There."
"Alright." Said the patched worked doll as his anttenai whipped out to lift him back into the air. Coming close to the web he pointed while looking at Salem then adjusted when told to do so. "Here you go Cato. Another circle starting here."
The toddler sighed softly as he started to work once again. By this point he was growing quicker in his work. The webbing was rarly getting stuck on his hands as he worked and stuck the webbing to itself. The spiderling was showing a surprising amount of wit as well. Once he was done with the second circle he went straight into the third, just as his adoptive father's lips parted to tell him to do just that. Cato did not stop until he had run out of rooms to make circles.
Salem stared for a bit before smiling. "Very good Cato! Now, try climbing up on it." Explained the cat. The webbing was sure to be strong enough to hold up the toddlers weight, but sense it was his first web, it looked rather lopsided and uneven.
The many armed toddler blinked as he looked over at his father with many double eyes. Climb? Well... He could try... And so he turned back to his web, looking at it for a moment. Slowly, and rather unsure of what he was doing, he reached up both his main hands, followed by his second set. Once those had a hold of the webbing he lifted a haunched foot and placed it on the first ring of webbing, lifting himself up. "A-Ahh!" The webbing sagged badly as his weight was added, still he continued to move upwards until he was in the middle of it. Parts of the webbing where streaching badly and not wanting to keep their shape. Soon the web was too wrecked to support him and collapsed, the poor toddler tangled in them once again. "Orn! Pastor!!" Cried out the little one in Elven. He was starting to do that more and more often wasn't he?
"That wasn't bad for a first time! Uh... Cath-baby, would you clean that up for us so he can try again?"

"Ah!" The preganant witch gasped, stepping forward as though to try to caught him, but because of her body she was to slow to move towards the mishap. Though her sympathies faded as soon as Cato said 'dammit' in the foriegn elegant tongue.
"Cato! *Pyl's o iari thyr jhalendri sar ol tal!" Catherine scowled in Elven, shaking her finger at the spiderling mishap, sighing she waved her other hand making the web fade away into floating lights that resembled fireflies. the lights floated up and out of the cave soundlessly. "I know it hurt, but you're too young to b sayin' stuff like that. " She frowned, placing her hand on her bellow, as she called her broom to her side and sat down on it. Not wanting to sit on the floor, because she knew damn well she wasn't going to get up if she did.
Nariko sat with Rapheal watching Cato's web crumble and entangle the mishap. Her eyes not dare blinked as she watched him.
Gareth was bored, tired, nd unusually restless. Ugh, what ws wrong with him?
*Don't you use foul language like that young man!

"Ai tal mae sharaelaes ai shal! O tal's saer ti shar sai pai!!!*" Snapped back the spidering as he stood unsteadily. He was obviously very frustrated with is all and someone giving him orders like that was grinding his last nerve. The fact that the webbing that he still only half had control over was slurring his pretty Elven wasn't helping either. With a final, "Ces!*" He turned away from her and back to the wall, glaring at it. And so he started a new with a quiet growl. Without any instruction at all he constructed a new web. This one looked far better then the last, though not perfect of course. By the time he was getting surprisingly good in such a short time. It seemed his frustration was feeding his determination.
By the time he was done he had not only taught himself to chew the webbing as he drew it out so that it would all be about the same thickness, but also had dropped chewing the webbing comppletely and had instead started to reach inside of his mouth and sever the string with his claws so that there would be no webbing left in his mouth then he was finished. And so, the moment of truth came, he reached up one again and slowly climbed up into the middle of the web. It streached a bit as he climbed, but this time, it held. Letting his two right hands go he half turned to glare at the witch, almost daring her to talk to him like some stupid little kid again.
What was Salem doing through all this...? He was staring. First at all the Elven then at how quickly the spiderling had caught on, and what's more, made up his own and apparently more affective way of making a web. Today really was full of surprises...
*I can say anything I want! I don't have to listen to you!!!
*Humph!

As he perched on his newest creation, a many-eyed glare still aimed at Cath, A peculiar feeling started to ebb its way into the boy. It started as just a clamy, uncomfortable, sensation. perhaps it was due to the cave, but by the looks of it, no one else was feeling this.
Mere seconds passed and the clamy feeling progressed into a shadowy wash. It came upon him like a black veil that blocked all sense of direction, feeling, and mental being. Skin was poked and pinched, limbs feeling as if being tugged and yanked. Just before it became something close to insanity, every stopped. The veil fell away to show the cave and its current inhabitants and the cold blackness was gone. All gone.
Cato trembled and lost his grip on the web, falling onto his butt. So cold... It had been so cold and scary... Many emerald eyes looked down at himself. He looked bigger. And where did those marks come from?! The darkness? Well... Maybe it hadn't been all bad... "Whoa..."
Salem's eyes widened as his toddler seemed to be enveloped in shadows, panicing only for a moment before it was gone and Cato was on his butt on the cool cave floor. "C-Cato! Are you okay?!" The cat started to rush forward only to skid to a stop and almost trip over his own feet.
A spider-folded origame skittered hastily into the cave on its eight paper legs. In and almost panicky dance, it moved around Salem's foot until being picked up and unfolded.
Picking up the paniced little paper spider he unfolded it and read what was inside:
Dear Salem and Cato, We are very pleased to inform, if you havn't already noticed that is, that your Mishap, Cato, is now a child. This is a very important stage in his life!
Please report to the newly refurbished Alignment Room. Its set-up has been redone, so please read the intructions carefully! -The Magical Mishap Staff
"No kidding..." He looked over at his new child. Well... He seemed to be alright. A little confused if anything...
