Seeing that just about every human being on earth has some amount of rage or even hate in their hearts, the best thing usually to do is let it out so you don't end up letting it pile up inside until you hold a convenience store hostage and end up on the news. So, here you can just let your rage (or unbridled blurting out, hence the Tourettes part) for the lulz. smile

Also, don't get butthurt about the Tourettes in the title. My gothmother has Tourettes. wink

I ******** hate the amount of prestige this society puts into academics. Or .. maybe it's my parents? I'm not sure if it's society I should place my anger towards since it's more of a false prestige generally. Professional athletes, movie stars, musicians, celebrities get all the love.

I think it's bullshit that I have to maintain at least a 3.8 GPA to remain in the house without paying rent... and I'm in college. Then again, I'm just ranting senselessly.

I think it's why I like Gaga so much. She embodies freedom to the fullest extent imo.

Your parents sound stereotypically Asian. eek

I was quite lazy when it came to academia: always wrote papers the day before it was due, C's and D's in mathematics and science (excluding forensics), but when it came to art and literature I always ranked among the best in class. I feel kind of bad knowing my parents s**t kittens if I got a B- but if my sisters got the same grade, they'd be grounded for a month.

I figured you would be one to get good grades in art and literature. Trust me, if your parents s**t kittens, my parents s**t .. tigers? rofl

"stereotypically Asian" - best way to describe them.

Once I get my degree though, I'm outta here. I'll be able to let my creativity unfold in a more practical manner.

How stereotypical? The kind who would get on 1000 ways to die if they died a weird unfortunate death?

Stereotypically Asian parents as in they push their kid to be the absolute best at all costs, even to the point of verbal abuse or in some cases, physical abuse. A more recent example of this would be the Tiger Mom, a Chinese-American mother who raised her two daughters to be the absolute best in everything, at the cost of being borderline abusive and argumentatively nuts.

Look up 1000 Ways to Die Korean father or something. A dad wouldn't let his daughter date an Asian American due to his belies and he dies for it.

I see. My parents are .. Stereotypical reasonably? Lol, my parents aren't that extreme. It's just academia for them. They don't even reach as far as forcing me to master a musical instrument. I was too much of a pain for them.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do

Ugh. My mother was the same way. I wasn't allowed to take driver's ed or even get a job in high school because "I needed to show responsibility and keep my grades up" And getting a C or lower was never good enough for her. Of course, being that I was deemed to be a genius and thrown in Gifted and Honors classes, I suppose that is partially to blame, but I really never saw myself in such a light. I made D's and F's in English, which should have been called Literature and Essay. I seriously suck at writing lengthy documents, and how the ******** am I suppose to know what the author was conveying to the reader by having said emo character enter the blue door at the end of the dark hallway with the green carpet and seashore painting?
I never had any life really until high school, no video games, no fun, I was expected to read or study. Of course, when I got to high school, I ended up becoming popular after I started dating a Junior, so I was able to weasel my way into going out and hanging away from home quite often.
Of course, I snapped at 16 and beat the s**t out of my stepfather, I've been on my own since then.
Also, no offense taken, my dear Fiendette, for I myself supposedly have Tourettes(I snort like a pig a lot and sometimes have this issue where I keep shrugging my right shoulder out of nervous discomfort)
