 Duo lay on his back, staring at the night sky. It was still...REALLY weird, having nieces. Well, by Shini. He'd gotten used to his nieces from their older half siblings but...well...This was SHINI! His 'twin', his best bud! He still wanted to shake the idiot who'd gotten her pregnant.
Of course...that had his mind wandering to Kairi. And wondering if he'd gotten HER pregnant. The skin beneath his fur drained of color at that thought. If he had...oh man, he'd be the worst father ever, having left her alone like that! He sighed and wished he could visit her again. "Man, this sucks."

 Astraia tossed and turned as she tried to sleep in the night. The more she tried to fall asleep the more restless she became. So finally after tons of tries trying to sleep she sat up and looked towards the sky. So many stars were visible tonight it was amazing. She quickly looked down from the sky to her family. Everyone was sleeping, and they appeared to be rather safe all close together. So she wasn't really needed for watching for danger. So in an attempt not to wake them, she slowly got up from where she was sleeping and began to walk to a place where she could better see the stars.Not even thinking anyone else might be up this late into the night night...

One of Duo's ears twitched as he heard little pawsteps, and the lion lifted his head up, curious. Well now! One of his little nieces wasn't asleep. Niece...he was still getting used to that word associated with Shini. The lion rolled over onto his belly and turned to smile at Astraia. "Whatcha doin' up, kiddo? It's a bit late for cubs like you to walkin' around."

As soon as she heard a voice speak. Astraia was taken of guard by the voice and jumped back a few steps. She felt her heart begin to pound and slowly looked ahead to see who it was. Oh its family, she thought quietly to herself as her breathing slowly began to return to normal.
"Oh hi there!" she said as she slowly took a few steps forward and nuzzled a greeting to her now right side up uncle. "Well...To be honest I couldn't sleep, and I figured it'd be better to go for walk then possibly wake my family," she finished as she looked back over her shoulder only for a brief second to check if they were still okay. "Though what are you doing up uncle? I didn't think anyone else was up at this time." she said rather curiously putting all her attention back on him.

Duo smiled sheepishly at Astraia. "I couldn't sleep either. So I decided to look up at the stars and do some thinkin'." He returned her nuzzle. "Of course, once we start getting close to where your Mom and I need to be, we'll start taking turns being up late while you guys sleep. Make sure none of the bad guys catch us off guard, or snag you and your sisters." Even though having nieces was weird...he did love them. And he knew Shini'd go off the deep end if they got stolen.

Astraia just looked up towards the sky as her uncle mentioned the stars. Never before had she ever taken the time to just look at them. Since normally she was more concerned with protecting her family within the night and making sure they slept well. Though now she finally had the chance to admire them. "Wow they sure are beautiful tonight," she said her head tilted up towards the sky. She looked at all the stars within the sky tonight and almost felt like they were watching over her. That can't be, she thought to herself as she put her attention back on her uncle.
"Guess tonight is just one of those sleepless nights though," she said with a smile towards her uncle as he returned her nuzzle. "Though what are you thinking about ... ?" she questioned him curiously wondering if it was similar to what was on her mind. Before she quieted ad listened to him speak further.
Once she heard his next few words, she accidentally blurted out. "I'll help once we get there! Since protecting my family is something I feel like I need to do, I am the oldest one after all. Plus you and mom will need sleep at times too," she said with a nod before going quiet.
She had never really talked to her uncle or any family member like this before. It was kind of nice, though then again she wasn't really sure if she should have voiced her thoughts like that. After all she was only a cub and who knew what the adults might think of it even if her intentions were good. Truth.Be.Told Just wanted to say tag if you wanted to continue this. =]
