I have two true missionary experiences that I want to share and then discuss afterwards.
The first one is how my Grandma became a member.
She was having a hard time sleeping at night and so she started reading...everything. It got to the point she had read everything in the house. One night she went to her neighboors' house to ask for something to read to put her to sleep. Joking around, they handed her a Book of Mormon that they had recieved from the missionaries a long time ago and said "If anything can put you to sleep, this can." That night she started reading and didn't stop reading until she had finished it. A few weeks later she joined the church.
The missionaries had "failed" at converting people at the original house, but where a seed is planted it will bloom. If it wasn't for their "failed" attempt my grandma wouldn't have joined.
The second one is about a friend of mine.
I have a friend whom I grew up with that turned bad. He started getting into drugs and doing things that he shouldn't have been doing. He always knew my position on religion and would get angry at me for it. One day he lied to me and we stopped talking. I figured we'd never talk again because I didn't see him for a little over six months. It turns out he had been framed and went to jail. While he was in jail he changed and saw what person he was and who he wanted to become. When coming out he realized that the only person he knew that hadn't changed for the worst was me and he decided he wanted that constant stability of truth. He's read half of the Book of Mormon and is taking the discussions.
You never know what the white field is referring to. Even the blackest sheep can find their way back. It's all a matter of faith and trust.
So discuss anything you can find there or your own experiences.

I have had friends come to church with me. My boyfriend, he wasn't at the time, even came to seminary without my inviting him, but he just didn't seem interested and stopped.

Unfortunately, I haven't had any yet. I've brought lots of friends to church and activities but I haven't seen anything yet. I'm not gonna stop trying tho. I feel bad for feeling too shy one time. I wonder what would have happened had I told the guy...

erm... I don't normally say "hey, you want to come to church with me?" it just sort of happens, I guess... because I have this habit of talking about religion with everyone I meet (*points to "mormons..." thread*) and so then it normally spurs from that . . . Actually, Jo's gf (Amanda) just got baptized a little over a week ago... um... I took Jamie to church one time, but he's calling himself James now, and yeah...
