Rosciel:
Rosciel rolled a small ball between his hands as he stood in the shade around one side of the demon dorms, wings folded at his back. He really only knew it was shade, of course, by the differing feeling of cold and warm in the area. He was absolutely certain that he didn't like being here, but what choice did he have? At least this school was a good one. One that he could actually learn at.
"Ready?" he asked softly and there was a wiggling movement in one of his pockets. He moved the ball into one hand and held it up. The wiggling increased.
"Ah, hold," he ordered and the wiggling slowed to almost nothing.
"Go get it," he finally said and tossed the ball, a brown foxsquirrel leaping from his pocket and sprinted after the ball.
Sin:
Sin slipped on a black pair of pants and a tank top with spider-webbing at the sides. She brushed her hair back and put it into a loose ponytail with a relaxed smile. She sat down and applied her quicker version of makeup before grabbing her eye-pod and slipping out of her suite for a jog. After getting chased like an animal in gym class she had decided to practice a bit more, it helped, especially with her fear-leading moves. She was going around the demon dorms building which was considerable in size.
Sin paused as she came around the corner a foxsquirrel running past and startling her a bit. She looked up and lowered the volume a bit as she spotted what seemed to be a new student. Her eyes narrowed a bit, white wings, tattered looking...was he somekind of reaper reject? Then she glanced at the demon dorms and back at him, or was he actually a demon? She huffed and jogged over pausing nearby and glancing at his minipet.
"Cute foxsquirrel..."
Rosciel:
Ripley, the foxsquirrel, ran past the demoness on her way back to her master, the ball held tight in her jaws. She was up his pants leg, up his coat, and perching on the demon's shoulder in a flash of brown fur to sit and stare at the demoness with wide green eyes.
"So I've been told. Not really a judge on cute," Rosc replied with a small smirk of a smile. It was soft, but he recognized that voice, the shape of the demoness as he turned his unusual gaze on her. The only way she could really tell was in that he had turned his face toward her. He gave her a once-over, taking in her outfit. It was simpler than he expected from her, but it was as revealing as he would have expected. Ripley made and annoyed sound and he snapped his fingers. She dropped the ball into his hand and he gave her head a small scratch, putting the ball in his pocket.
Sin:
"You're new around here aren't you?" She moved in a bit closer and pushed her headphones off. "This is the demon dorm." She pointed towards the opulent building and smiled. However her smile wasn't quite natural, it was cool, calculated as she watched him. Then she noticed the blindfold and raised a curious brow, hmm was he actually blind? Maybe he was a demon, the kind that saw into the future or had visions. She frowned for a moment at a memory and then forced the smile back in place.
She glanced back at the foxsquirrel half impressed by it's obedience. She couldn't get her unmentionables to behave half that well. Then again some mini's just seemed to have good dispositions.
Rosciel:
Rosc's smile quickly faded into a neutral line when she pointed out this was the demon dorm. Did she take him for something other than a demon?
"I would hope so, I moved in this morning," he replied and his pride started to ache, among other pains. A barb grew on his tongue and before he could stop himself, he loosed it upon her, his tone as cool as her smile.
"Do you tell that to all the students you catch around here? Or am I just that unfortunate in my appearance that you assume I'm some monster or reaper who took to wandering about campus and unknowingly wandered to a dorm I don't belong in?" he asked and took a step towards her. He felt a rush as her desires, those things she longed most for, what she longed to be caressed his senses, barely enough to get a sense of them, but, oh, did she have them. He expected nothing less.
Sin:
"Oh..." She murmured and then looked him over again her smile staying in place until until he opened his mouth again. Her eyes narrowed a bit and her smile faded away into a thin line.
"Your a new student so I wasn't sure if you knew your way around yet, but obviously you know everything." Her voice cooled from it's once warm sweet tone and she flipped her hair back. "Well I'm Sin, Sin Err it was nice meeting you..." Though of course they hadn't really 'met' at all just yet. Still she looked about ready to move past him.
Rosciel:
Sin Err. What an interesting name, a play on words. He was a little surprised that she would give him more than just her first name. He never gave more than his first name. Never. If the school knew more than that, it would have been his mentor's doing. Nicodemus was the only creature living who knew more than one of his names. Not even his mother or father's families knew more than his last name. Even his parents had only known part of it, his mother giving him some of it, his father giving him the rest. His name was what they had left him upon their deaths, among the rest of his inheritance.
"Rosciel. And this is Ripley," Rosc replied, gesturing to the foxsquirrel on his shoulder before he crossed his arms. He felt a little bad about pricking her temper but the insinuation had hurt.
"My mentor, much less myself, would be sorely disappointed if I didn't at least have a general idea of the school's layout before coming here. And you didn't answer my question. Do you tell that to all students you run into around the demon dorms, or is there just something about me that gave you the idea I might be lost?" He wanted the truth, even though part of him feared it, just a bit. He didn't want his suspicions confirmed, but he had to know.
Sin:
Well now he was being a tad more civil...and he was a demon, she and Alcie had been planning their party for so long. She couldn't very well leave just one demon out even if he had come after all the invitations had been written. "Well thats very good for him, and you, you must feel quite at home already. And your certainly not the first I've mentioned it to, it wasn't meant to offend." She huffed and thought for a moment of Julian. Perhaps she needed a more subtle way to identify new students, they were awfully touchy.
"Rociel, a friend of mine and I are getting together this weekend and throwing a little get together for all the demons. You're of course invited, I'm sorry it's not more formal but we already wrote all the invitations and we're quite busy planning." She cocked her hip a bit standing as if now she might stay for a conversation.
Rosciel:
Rosc's neutral line fell into a frown, not at the apology, but at the invitation to a party. He hated parties. They were social and crowded and he was often forced away from his comfortable wall. Too much intrigue, too much pretense, too many people to keep track of who wanted what from whom. And he didn't have his "uncle" around to give him illusions either.
"I'm not a big fan of parties," he said, uncrossing his arms to stick his hands in his pockets. Well, at one point he hadn't been a fan. He'd once gained a reason to go to those parties the club took him to, but he had only had that one chance. He had missed a ball because he was ill and there had been no more after that. He was here at school now. And the stipulations his mentor had set down, allowing him to come here. Join a demon-only club, be sociable, good grades, no trouble with the staff. He was better off at home and yet he had his own reasons for being here.
Sin:
She looked at his frown and felt a vague sense of insult, this was how he treated invitations? She had to try very hard not to glare at him instead she watched him moved his hands into his pockets and gave a soft huff. "Oh well of course it's only an invitation it's not like anyone is going to drag you there. It is a good chance for all us demons to get to know one another properly though. Still suite yourself, the invitation stands." She gave a little arch and flicked her hair back again looking ready to take off running again. What an antisocial snippity...she tried to calm her thoughts and be a bit more open minded. He was new here after all, maybe he just needed time to adjust.
Rosciel:
Rosc grit his teeth and shook his head. This was going really poorly. There was no way he'd be able to tell her... anything. Not yet, anyways.
"I thought you deserved an explanation why I would be hesitant to attend. I could have said thanks but no thanks, or not shown up at all, but that's beneath us," he replied, his good wing twitching in agitation. The other one generally just stayed folded behind him as best he could manage. Keep it still, don't draw attention. Those were the questions he despised. Going out, feeling the stares, the pointing and "Mommy, what happened to him?" or "Is that an undead angel, papa?" He just hadn't healed well, that was all. And still...
"... Where will it be, and is it sanctioned by the school staff?"
Sin:
So he wasn't as uncouth as she had thought, that would teach her to make hasty judgements about others. Then again she should have learned that lesson ten times over by now. Her smile warmed a bit and she nodded softly accepting his explanation.
"Of course, and it will be in the demon common room. and naturally we have permission from the demon counselor." She looked at him mildly curious wondering if he'd decide to come after all. "It'll be fun, I promise Alcie and I have been working very hard on it." Not to mention how hard she had been working to tie all the little strings of Lucky 13 back together. This party would an excellent point to step off of.
Rosciel:
He held back a smile at the warmer look she gave him. It changed her face into something he recognized more than the icy neutrality when she had been annoyed at him. He had no doubt it would be fun for her, much less for him. He had seen the demon commons, they were too open. Of course everywhere was too open for him. Even out here... but it was a necessity, he needed to exercise Ripley, she'd been cooped up too long.
And in a way, this was a necessity too. He needed to try this, to see where it went.
"I'm sure you have," he replied, certain that she had put a lot of effort into planning it. If she was anything like her mother, she was very formal and precise in her planning. It wasn't something that was really discussed often.
Sin:
She gave a glance about trying to determine if anyone else was about. Sin always tried to keep tabs of who was around her and why, it was something her father had told her to do for safety. Her mother had said to do the same to collect and prevent gossip. Right now though she was more concerned with safety after what happened with their little human world trip.
"Do you bring Ripley out often? I have a foxsquirrel but he stays in the closet, only my unmentionables really hang out. I've never brought them out on purpose though, their wretched troublemakers."
Rosciel:
"Usually. I have the feeling she'll get into mischief if I leave her in my room. Getting to go out, to see other things keeps her happy. Most of my pets are rather calm. My corividus, though, I'd prefer he stay in my closet or go back to where he came from," he paused there, a small smirk returning to his face. "But he gets out, and I have to catch him and chuck him back in."
Ripley gave his cheek a little nuzzle. Her fur was soft, something most of his pets had in common. He couldn't stand coarse texture, and he'd been very touch-oriented after he'd been blinded. When he had been trained to see again, he hadn't needed to feel every last thing as he moved about, but he had never stopped buying clothing, bedsheets, furniture based on the feel of the fabric.
After the nuzzle, the foxsquirrel, took a step down his front, hooking her back paws on the back of his shoulder and planting her front on his collarbone, stretching her nose out towards Sin so that she could get a better sniff of the female her master was talking to.
Sin:
"Mine are..overactive maybe I should bring them out a bit more, but some of them can cause quite the scene." She shook her head and then stepped a bit closer towards Ripley. She slowly lifted her hand for the foxsquirrel to sniff and smiled moving to try and pet her. Why couldn't her unmentionables be like this? Sweet and only mildly curious. She thought of the last time they had gotten out and how Pantaloons had stolen Riley's panties. She was never going to make friends with that ghoul after something like that.
"So any idea what classes your in yet? Or which ones you're interested in taking?"
Rosciel:
If Rosc had eyes they would have grown a fraction larger when Sin stepped closer and reached a hand towards his pet. She was getting too close.
"I wouldn't do that if-" But it was too late. Sin's hand was in range and before Rosc could stop her, Ripley was off his shoulder and winding up Sin's arm and around her shoulders and just running all over the demoness. The look he gave Sin, if it could be called that, was apologetic as Ripley continued to climb around her, exploring this new person. She had little claws he knew all too well about, but he doubted it would hurt Sin.
"Yeah, she does that," he finally said and returned his focus on her other question. He shrugged.
"Not really. There were some I thought about taking, but a lot of them seem full up right now." He shrugged again.
Sin:
Sin jumped a bit startled and then laughed as Ripley made her exploration squirming a bit under the soft scrape of claws. She cleared her throat a bit and then grinned. "Curious isn't she? Don't worry about it she's cute." The soft fur brushing against her skin tickled. She was used to the snuggles of her unmentionables but their soft chubby cuddles felt different then the wild dashing Ripley was dong.
"Yeah but don't worry too much new classes pop up all the time, most of the professors are great...if not a bit...strict. Once you get down everyones personality you'll know how to handle their classes. You should take Professor Reds Gym class, it's really informative as far as learning your fear and such goes."
Rosciel:
The smirk on Rosc's face warmed slightly at Sin's laugh, glad that his foxsquirrel's actions hadn't upset her. In fact, she had taken it all in stride, letting Ripley run about, sniffing and nuzzling to get an understanding of this new person. She finally ended up perched on Sin's shoulder, giving her cheek a nuzzle.
"Ah, come on now, Ripley," Rosc said and held his hand out to Sin's shoulder. He even went so far as to lightly touch his fingertips to the demoness' shoulder. Ripley wiggled her nose but moved to her master's arm, running up to curl up on his shoulder again.
Gym didn't sound like something he really wanted to do, but he knew he'd have to eventually.
"Any suggestions for professors?"
Sin:
Sin smiled as the foxsquirrel settled down and leaned into Rosc's hand a bit letting Ripley head back over to him. She felt a bit warmer after Rosc's brief touch and her smile lingered for a moment before she snapped back to attention. She stepped back and crossed her arms silent for a moment as she thought.
"Well Hellma is harsh, but shadowcraft is so important it's a bad idea to try and skip out on it. Professor Byrn's class is...interesting, very hands on I suggest being in good physical condition for it. All the professors are actually fairly competent at their jobs, it's just their attitudes towards us students that could use some tweaking. They can be so unreasonably harsh. Plus all the homework can be a bit of a strain on ones social calender." She smirked and shrugged looking back at him.
"What were you interested in studying anyway? Creatures? Spells? Humans?" She wanted a little slice of everything, but she had to admit she found spells, illusions, and even the forms and faces classes to be more interesting.
Rosciel:
Rosc almost laughed at her explanation of the professors. They sounded a lot like Nic. Sure he was good at what he did and even a good teacher, but his attitude was quite poor indeed. He stuck his hands back in his pockets with a smirk.
"I know what that's like. My private teachers had that attitude more often that not," he replied, hedging around who had taught him before coming to this school.
Her other question caught him off-guard. What did he want to study? He'd never really thought about it. He liked creatures, but not enough to want to do anything with them. Human had nothing of interest at all. If he ever went to the human world, it would probably be just so that he could say he did. Like his mother had when she was young. Or, at least according to Nic and Rosanna.
"Spells seems appropriate, management as well. I've never put much thought into it."
Sin:
"My private tutors were much more respectful, but I've come to respect the professors here as well...to a point. They know what their talking about and they have so many students to deal with it's hard to blame them for getting snippy. I do think they handle things a bit harshly, but if we didn't fear their authority we would probably run rampant." She let out a small half laugh and then nodded softly.
"Spells are interesting, a lot of reapers, it can be challenging but I think the professor has a good grasp as to what level each of her students is. You know, I know your Ripley is well behaved, but there's a minipet training class offered as well sometimes...maybe you could take her and show off what a good minipet acts like."
Rosciel:
Rosc considered it and shrugged. For all he had driven Nic crazy, he would be respectful of the professors here. It was a different situation. Nic was his guardian and for all his threats he'd never turn Lara's son out. Not unless he did something tremendously stupid. Which Rosc was smart enough not to do.
He wasn't about to state anything obvious, either, so he let the subject of spells drop and focused on Ripley instead, who had perked her ears up at hearing her name.
"Probably not. Seems like it would be a waste, that daft crow is the one that could use the training... Then again, it'd probably be wasted on him."
Sin:
"I hear Grumpy Professor Alabaster is going to have his next Lit class soon? Well anyway I'm sure you'll find something Rosciel, can't be at school without taking classes." She smiled and then gave another little stretch flicking her ponytail back and moving to put her earphones back on.
"Anyway nice to meet you, I better get going lots to do!"
Rosciel:
"Call me Rosc," he replied. The only people who called him Rosciel were adults, minus Akariel who called him lots of things besides Rosciel. It was interesting to hear her say his name, but it felt more appropriate that she call him by his nickname.
Ugh, Lit class. He had seen that on the roster and knew that was the last class he'd be taking. It would surely kill him if he did.
He waved a hand in farewell and then walked past her, heading back towards the entrance to the demon dorms. He had a lot to think about.
Sin:
"Rosc then, pleasure." She laughed at the look on his face at her mention of Lit class and grinned. "Aww what's wrong with lit? Well...you can tell me some other time...like at the party? See ya Rosc!" She turned the volume on her EYEpod back up and jogged back off to get up to her room and shower before classes started.
