It seemed like approximately a thousand years since he had left home, although it had probably only been a matter of days. Kepo had seen some interesting things since leaving home, and he was impressed by none of them. The lions out in the rogue lands were just as oversized, ugly, and stupid as the slave-lioness back home. The food was the same. The hyenas ... well, Kepo hadn't met many new hyenas, but overall he wasn't thrilled. The only female he met had not only been blue, the same color as his horrible embarrassment of a father, but she had been wimpy. Kepo instinctively disapproved of wimpy hyenas.
Spotting a lump of purple in the distance, Kepo immediately began to move towards it. Although lions were much bigger than him, he was fearless. If it was a lion, it would just have to get out of his way.
Happily, it wasn't long before he caught the scent of hyena. A hyena! Wonderful! Hopefully she would be much more suitable than the last hyena he had met, even if she was a weird purple color. "Hello!" Kepo yelled, trotting towards the stranger. "Good afternoon!" It was best to get boring small talk out of the way first before he got down to the serious business of flirting.

Chausiku was bored, not just the regularity of being bored because you felt lazy and didn't want to do anything, no she was bored from the complete lack of entertainment to come her way. There was no lioness to banter silly comments to and to get arouse a bit of a story or joke out of, there was no lion's to avoid nor cheetahs or even leopards not even the stray passing by pride member on some sort of hunt. Nothing, absolutely nothing! Chausiku let a sigh escape from her lips before she allowed her body to flop onto the ground in a rather disapproving annoyance. She watched as a cloud of dust floated in the air before settling back down, some lightly dusting the end of her nose.
Beyond the edge of her nose her golden eyes noticed something, it was moving and coming towards her, if was someone out scavenge for something to eat how disappointed they would be finding out she was still rather alive and kicking though it would be amusing to see them try. Unless of course they were twice her size and then she would be rather sorry in trying to trick someone into her rather source of entertainment. Keeping her body still she watched waiting to see the creature come closer, it was something a lighter brown with stripes and bore a shaggy mane unlike the lioness, leopards or cheetahs.
Not to mention it talked greeting her, Chausiku peered at the new comer, he was another hyena male what a rare opportunity for her!
"Hi!" she replied eyeing him before giving him a light grin.

Kepo drew to a halt as he reached the strange hyena. As he always did when meeting someone new, particularly a new hyena, he looked at her appraisingly. The smile was nice, and she seemed friendly, which was all right with Kepo. Friendly wasn't as good as bossy, but it was a great deal better than sad. That wimpy female had even been afraid of him! It was unnatural, it was.
Almost as unnatural as this female's color, but Kepo grudgingly decided that the purple was all right. It was almost like gray, wasn't it? Pretty much. If you looked at it like that, she could have been his sister or mother. "Hi," Kepo said, echoing her greeting. "I'm Kepo. My mother and aunt are queens, and I am the strongest and most handsome of any of their sons." He drew himself up a bit, feeling quite proud. Kepo always tended to introduce himself so, and so far he hadn't had a reason to change. It was best to inform people of who they were talking to, after all. A hyena of some importance! "I like your white mane and tail, and your white legs," Kepo said. "They are very pretty. You look like my sister Zalika, but she is gray instead of purple."

Chausiku raised a brow as the male hyena mentioned that his mother and aunt were queens, she had little knowledge that such things existed in the hyena world, she knew of the prides of lions and those who were apparently higher than others however she did not know that the same option existed for her. Imagine herself as a queen, well she tried, and couldn't Chausiku couldn't imagine herself ruling anyone not that she didn't mind being bossy she was just too fond of being able to roam at her own desire and never worrying about anything other than food. Truth was that her having to think about other needs before her own was not in the least bit appealing.
Giving him a grin she got on her feet and gave him a slight bow, rather if it was for a bit of her own mocking ways or that she considered him royalty was unknown. "Its nice to meet you Kepo, I'm Chausiku Kamaria but you can just call me Chausiku or Siku either is fine. I'm afraid I'm not as interesting as you are family wise we were nothing more than a bunch of wandering hyenas. I don't have any siblings or at least I don't' think any of them lived? However, don't hold me to my words if one appears." She replied a grin resting on her lips, "I will have to take your word on being the most strongest and handsome out of your siblings considering I don't think I have met them, and thank you I'm quite fond of my white as well, though I don't think I would have like the color gray I think it's boring." She replied shaking her mane a bit and making a face of a hint of disgust. "So tell me why are you out here and not at home?"

Kepo felt very satisfied that this female was paying attention to him, even if she was purple. He approved of her markings enough to grant her attractiveness. His smugness evaporated a bit when Chausiku called gray boring.
Boring.
His mother was gray! All of his brothers and sisters had some gray on them! Gray was a family color.
But Kepo knew that if he exploded in outrage, he would lose whatever chance he had with this purple female. He fought back his annoyance. Maybe he wouldn't bring her home after all. "Gray isn't boring," Kepo said, trying to keep his voice neutral and pleasant instead of shouting. "Most of my family is gray. It is a strong color." He drew himself up slightly, proud. Kepo himself didn't have any gray on him, but he would defend his family's honor whether her criticism of their color affected him or not. "We need more members. I'm looking for a nice lady to bring home." By which of course he meant an arrogant, fierce lady.
