He generally tried not to go out alone anymore now that he could call Denebola when he was out patrolling but for some reason he'd decided that tonight was a good time to venture out alone. He'd stayed powered down instead while he wandered around the city scouting for youma sightings or negaverse agents. It was a bit harder this way since he didn't bother with his cell but he was pretty sure either of his enemies would cause a fuss he'd notice.

He had been wandering for a few hours and hadn't noticed anything. It seemed a bit odd but maybe the cold was even keeping the evil inside. "Which is a stupid thought considering it's not keeping -me- inside and if i was smart I would be." At least powered down he could wear his heavy winter coat and not wonder if he'd end up with frost bite for the trouble of protecting people he didn't even know.

As he wandered closer to the quieter parts of the city he dug his cellphone out. Flipping it open he turned on the radar and paused to see if anything was about. The quiet was starting to get on his nerves but even the phone showed nothing.

Sighing he stuffed his phone back in his pocket and started the search for somewhere he could power up. It took a bit of hunting since he wasn't very familiar with this part of town but eventually he found a small alcove without windows and a few from the street.

Ignoring the voice in his head that told him to check his phone again (he'd been alone all night right?) he rubbed his hands together before calling up his henshin pen and powering up. The shock of cold without his coat sent his hands to the lantern that appeared at his waist and he wrapped his hands around it once it was freed of his belt for the extra warmth.

They made it so easy.

There had always been a certain rush during her captaincy, the uncertainty of whether or not Tanzanite might be able to defeat the opponents she encountered in her nightly patrols. After all, there were eternal senshi prowling those streets, and no amount of experience could have made up for the sheer gap in power. Castor had proven that in their last encounter... but then? Then she had been a mere Captain, divided by the rift between her own mind and that of the youma she hosted, constantly fighting herself as much as she fought any of the senshi.

Now, however, the world was her playground. General-King Marthozite's touch had taken away fear and apprehension, and filled the young General with a need to use her newly acquired power. It had bridged the gap between Tanzanite and her parasitic arm, leaving behind a single, harmonious individual.

So she had taken to the streets that night not in search of energy or starseeds, but in search of prey, closing her eyes and quietly feeling for the telltale spark of power that marked the senshi. It was as though her desire had called to them, and only a moment after she had stilled, she felt it. That flicker of power, the faint ripple of light in a sea of endless darkness. She felt it spring to life, and was off like a fox on the hunt.

It didn't take long to cross the few blocks that separated them, or to find her way to the opening of the alley. She observed the boy for a moment, sizing him up. He lacked both the distinguishing traits of an eternal senshi and the power signature of a super. It meant that not only was he a regular senshi, but removed any threat he might have posed. More importantly, it meant that there was no need to kill him outright.

“Didn't Castor warn you,” she sighed, her voice a mix of a soft feminine tone echoed by another. The second voice was harsh and raspy, sounding like nothing so much as dozen screaming voices speaking in unison, utterly inhuman, “You shouldn't be out alone at night.”

He hadn't been sure he could get any colder out in the snow but the sound of the voice, voices, behind him turned his blood to ice. That did -not- sound like a senshi. In a way it reminded him of the screeching voices of the youma he'd fought but none of them had been able to speak.

Looking up carefully the sight before him brought into sharp focus something Corvus had told him once. "You..."

Corvus had warned him. If you ever see the Negaverse Agent with the hand -run-. Just run. He'd promised her he would, it had been impossible not to with the way she had looked at him. Yet there she, it, was and between him and the only real exit out of the alley. Sure he could get out but she'd still be able to get him.

Rather than respond to the mention of a name he'd never heard he ignored the bit of his mind telling him it was useless and took off out of the alley. Maybe he could get away ....

Run.

It was the same advice Charonite had given them when it came to the white-clad warrior known as Kunzite. It was advice she had ignored, and Tanzanite had paid dearly for her mistake.

Just as she planned to make Sailor Arsinoe pay dearly for his.

He was smart enough to run, and either amusement or mercy had Tanzanite standing still for a brief moment as she watched him go. Her head was cocked slightly to one side, a dark brow raised as though vaguely amused that he thought running would do him any good. Unlike their Captain counterparts, Generals did not find teleportation to be an exhausting practice. She vanished from where she stood, popping back into existence just in front of the fleeing senshi. Her human hand (she felt no need to use the other) came out to try and deliver a swift, hard punch to his chest, aiming to knock him back.

“Come on,” she said, a smile twisting her lips, “aren't you going to even try to fight?”

When he didn't hear the sound of someone following him he thought for a brief moment that he would be spared whatever horrors might have been about to befall him. He should have known that he wasn't that lucky.

He saw the general appear before him seconds before her fist collided with his chest. The air was knocked out of his chest as he fell backwards onto the cold snow covered sidewalk. He heard her speaking but for a moment all he could do was cough as he tried to get air back into his lungs.

Why try to fight her? It would be useless. He couldn't even fight Youma on his own. There wasn't any way he'd be able to fight off this woman, not with what Corvus had told him.

"... just so you can see me struggle?" He glared up at her for a moment before lashing out with one long leg hoping to at least get her knee so he could try to scramble to his feet once more and run.

Tanzanite's face was a mask of agitation as the boy's foot collided with her shin, but the kick did little good. From ankle to thigh, her legs were plated with armor, and his foot applied little more than pressure to the shin beneath. While her stomach was far too open for attack, the General's legs were well protected against ankle-biting and knee-kicking.

“Well.. yes,” she said, as though this should have been obvious.

She was still as he scrambled to his feet, watching him for a short moment as he made another attempt at running. Her long legs, quickened by the power of the Negaverse, closed the space between them. Dark claws reached out to snatch at his collard, and if she was able to take hold a twist of her body would toss him hard back into the enclosed alley.

He had a moment to think maybe, just maybe, he wasn't going to get chased down by the Negaverser before he felt claws hook into his collar. He heard the fabric tear slightly but not enough to stop her from being able to do what she wanted.

He grunted as he hit the snow covered concrete in a heap and skidded along the slick surface for a few feet. Everything stung and he knew that he'd have major road rash on his arms and the back of his legs. Pulling himself unsteadily to his feet he looked around quickly.

Luck would have it there weren't any fire escapes he could easily get to without having to knock down a ladder first,

She was growing bored, and the usual course of action when Tanzanite got bored was to snap someone's neck, take their starseed, and head back to the Negaverse for another night of lurking arounf in dark corners.

Yes, that was what Tanzanite did in her precious free time. She lurked.

“I made a promise to Castor not to kill any more of you,” she sighed, closing the distance between herself and the boy with slow, measured steps, “But I don't think you'd be worth corrupting, so I'm afraid I'll have to break that promise.”

Tanzanite did not look particularly sad about this fact as she stood before Arsinoe, “Last words?”

"Please tell they're the words to an attack," a voice drifted down from above. "Because this is seriously the lamest battle I've ever seen. And I've seen people fight zombies."

Foramen perched on the edge of one of the rooftops that were too high for Arsinoe to leap to. Dangling his legs over the edge, he kicked them idly back and forth while staring down at the powered-up people beneath him. He'd thought he'd watch the show, get some entertainment, possibly some info for the negaverse database. Instead he had the database spitting out warnings about this purple-haired, strange-armed woman, and a senshi who was putting up no fight whatsoever.

"You're not a civilian playing dress up, are you?" he called down to Arsinoe. "If you're a real senshi, you could at least try to fight."

It mightn't be overly successful - there was a reason Foramen wasn't jumping down to assist (apart from the whole 'not so fond of others' things) - but feather pillows fought back more than the senshi in the alleyway had.

"I really don't think you're going to be killing me tonight b***h." He snarled. He was hurt, in pain, about to be eaten by a negaverse wench, and he was -pissed- about it. The sudden appearance of a voice above their heads did not help matters any. He wasn't about to take his eyes off the woman to see who was up there though. That would give her the chance to take his head off like she probably wanted.

"I can't attack at this range thanks much. Not with anything more than a foot and -that- didn't work so well. b***h has armor if you haven't noticed." He called out knowing whoever it was up there would hear him.

Inching back in the snow he used an air conditioning unit to lever himself up off the ground. Everything stung and even if he could get an attack off it wouldn't do any good. She was too far above him.

Tanzanite waited patiently while the two conversed, watching with amusement. The red-headed girl who had entered the scene had done so with the same distant, snippy arrogance and sarcasm that she was slowly coming to expect from the senshi. Flashy words and talks about love; was that all they were good for? Is that all they had to offer the planet they so eagerly sought to rule? She thought to Castor and Iris, and recalled Nemesis' similar taunts. These were the senshi who opposed them?

It was enough to make Tanzanite sick.

She watched with her fingers laced behind her head, tapping one armored toe all too patiently.

“Blah, blah, blaaaaah,” she glanced up at Foramen and smiled all too sweetly, the black palm held open and facing Arsinoe. The mouth within widened, revealing circular rows of sharp, serrated teeth and a cordlike black tongue that slowly reached out for the boy, “You talk an awful lot for a walking dead man, but I'm afraid I much prefer actions to words. But if I had to elaborate on what I'm going to do to you when I get up there? I would have to go with eating through your chest until I get to your starseed. Snappy finishing comment goes here.”

She looked way too happy.

No, really, Tanzanite was just super happy.

"Yes, I saw the armour," Foramen agreed. "Saw you kick it, too, instead of aiming for her stomach or some area without armour."

Alternating his gaze from the climbing senshi to the freaky Negaverse chick, Foramen mulled over Arsinoe's excuses. Range limitations? Was the other senshi talking about his magical attack range, or still stuck on the idea of physical attacks? Foramen could have told him the latter would be useless - he recalled from the cellphone database that the lady with the weird arm was a General. No wonder she was toying with them like a cat faced with two baby birds.

It made Foramen all the more grateful that his attack came with built-in escape capabilities. He wasn't sticking around for long if Tanzanite decided to join him on the roof. Despite the fact that it was therefore a terrible idea to annoy the woman, he snapped back, "Sarcastic retort goes here," and gave her the finger.

He was more interested in the other senshi, anyway. (No way Foramen would last long enough against the lady General to add anything new to her database entry.)

"Just what is your range for attacking, then?" he called down to Arsinoe. That, Foramen could help with.

Despite the fact that he was practically shaking in fear of the General he still managed to glare at her. He was pretty sure she could easily go through with her threat of getting at his starseed and didn't see any way to get -out- of said threat. He couldn't fight her, his attack was far to weak compared to her power, and he couldn't even run away. Not with her blocking the only exit. He doubted trying to go up would do much good either with the way she'd already caught him the last time he tried to run.

Looking back up at the other Senshi he wondered for a second what could possess him to taunt the woman. "Distance! I need time to get it going." Even if she was close the moment he set it off he still needed time to get the light from his lantern. "Not that it's going to do a damn thing to her." Except maybe annoy her

What was it with senshi and flipping her the bird? How many middle fingers did a girl have to break before they stopped with that? Was two not enough? Was she really going to have to break every senshi's middle finger before they got the point that it was just rude?

What ever happened to manners?

“Who taught you to discuss your strategy in front of your opponent,” the General sighed, but seemed willing to grant Arsinoe his request. A thought and a teleport brought her up and behind Foramen, an armored leg lashing out in an attempt to kick him off of the roof and into the alley below with Arsinoe. As a Captain, teleportation was not a useful tactic in combat, given the energy drain. For a General, well, it helped make up for the lack of sparkling magical powers.

“I think,” she said quietly, craning her neck from one side to the other. Her vertebrae popped softly, as did her kuckles as Tanzanite flexed her clawed fingers, “we are done discussing things.”

A very healthy dose of fear had overtaken Foramen when he had realised just how powerful Tanzanite was. Sadly, he compensated for fear with brash talk and actions that, well, really only made people want to hurt him more. There were some kinks in that strategy, to be sure. Perhaps he needed to reconsider, if he survived.

The General had a good point about strategy needing be secret. But what could you do when you were meeting your 'ally' for the first time and knew nothing about them? Sure, they had cell phones. But Foramen doubted that Tanz would be willing to sit still for a few minutes while they texted back and forth and came up with a plan. Besides, given the fact that Tanz was a General, the most optimistic Foramen could be was that they came up with a plan to disable her for long enough for them to run away.

Tanzanite disappeared and Foramen's stomach dropped out. He hated hated hated that the other side could teleport. A feeling that only increased as he registered the massive dark aura appear behind him. He turned in time for the kick to catch him in the side. A yelp and a curse echoed as Foramen fell off the roof. Gloved hands scrabbled for the fire escape as he fell into the alley. For a moment, they found purchase, but slipped as his arms took his weight and protested the jerk of halting gravity. Foramen hit the alley floor.

"Ow," he said, dazedly peering back up to Tanzanite. It could have been worse. Now his arms were killing him, but at least he hadn't broken anything by hitting the alley straight from the roof.

He debated running away on his own. It was a tempting idea. Unfortunately, there was always the chance that Tanzanite would chase Foramen instead of staying with Arsinoe, the fact that as a General her speed was above his and he had no idea how often she could teleport to keep up with him, and, of course, the fact that he was far enough from home that he couldn't teleport the whole way there. No, he decided, there were too many vulnarabilities with that plan. It seemed he would actually have to work with his fellow senshi and see if together they couldn't delay the General long enough to make a successful escape.

Crap. Foramen did not want to be the decoy. He really, really didn't! Heaving a sigh, he glared balefully at Arsinoe. Distance, huh? Raising one arm, he said, "Foramen Rift, Slice."

A rift appeared behind Arsinoe and moved forward. If Arsinoe didn't run away out of fear, it would move him from the fire escape to the roof a few metres above his current position. Then it would be up to Arsinoe to get the distance needed while Foramen, sigh, tried to distract Tanzanite. Oh joy.
