 *You walk into the dim lit classroom, aware that you are a few minutes too early. You approach the front of the classroom and a tank which is covered by a white sheet sits upon the professor's desk. Curiosity peaks your interest, and seeing no one around, you lift the sheet to take a quick look. You open it to find...A PERSON STARING BACK AT YOU! You scramble back a few feet and the unknown person comes from behind the glass tank and chuckles. With a smile she says kindly, "Sorry for giving you a fright."*Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts. For those who have not met me before, I am Professor Ann Clairion. I am a former Gryffindor Student who graduated from Hogwarts 2 terms ago and have been teaching DADA since Winter Term of 2008 before I went on a year long hiatus in 2010. Its so good to be back with you all and I hope to get to know each and every one of you as the term progresses.

For the love of Merlin, please post in your house color. Every term I cannot stress this enough and I'm betting this isn't going to be the last time I remind you. If not, the 1st offense is a warning, and any other offense = -5 point deduction to your house.
Participate in active discussions and always indicate what level of D.A.D.A you are in. This is to prevent confusing discussions. You may roleplay your questions, they always entertain me.
Send all homework assignments and test/finals through PM to me. If not, credit will not be received for assignment. Some questions in the homework might be required to post in the classroom, so look forward to that.
All assignment answers must be written in complete sentences (excluding multiple choice questions).
Missing homework assignments can lose you points. (Unless, you give proper notice in advance, made arrangements with me thru PM, post in the SMB, etc)
Late assignments from excused absentees are worth half points and will be accepted until the week of finals.

Defense Against the Dark Arts is now open for sign-ups! First lesson of the term will be posted 5 pm (PST) on Monday, January 24.
Sign ups will be cut off by January 31, unless further indicated.
