The METAPLOT FINAL EVENT

Dates :

Wednesday, January 26 Time: 1PM EST : Whenever it finishes.. Place: Metaplot forum

Yes. This is the final event. There is one more place that everything will be taking place in...

Anyone can still jump in and participate. Lurkers, owners..... It's all in fun. The ghostlings here are rare. Questions about what is really going on in Etheria may be answered or there may simply be more questions. Wait and see. The rules are the same as before except there are a few more numbers added to the list of possible encounters.

Posting Rules

They have changed slightly. Please red below.
Each post (2-3 short paragraphs) will be a chance encounter with a ghostling. Perhaps one from the previews that have been dropped into the thread, perhaps one never seen before. Those who finish their premeta quests before the metaplot starts will have a serious advantage on these encounters. So get those quests finished.

Times are tentative and may run longer than 1 AM EST if the activity is there. Please read all the information when joining in to make it fun for everyone.

How To Play:

1. Write an RP post of at least 2-3 paragraphs like you would any other RP. Turns do not matter but do not post one right after your own. Let others take a turn before you reply again.

2. WHEN you post, roll 1 -100 sided dice. That gives you one chance per post to hit a number on the list below. If you do roll one of the numbers, that gives you an encounter. For courtesy, the story stops during an encounter until either the creature has escaped or been captured. So be aware of the other players, please.

3. For those who completed their metaplot quests, you will have an increased chance at getting an encounter. You will roll 2 -100 sided dice giving you two chances per post to get a correct encounter number. You will also get a perk on catching the ghostling.

4. More than one number rolled during a post does not mean you get more than one encounter. You are rolling for one encounter per post no matter how many chances you have to hit a number in that post.

5. Have fun! There will be a METAPLOT NPC post whenever I need to move the story. This NPC may reply between as part of the story and interact with you. You will know the metaplot reply because it will be colored RED. Any NPC interaction will be in RED.

6. Do not edit your posts. You need to write your rp and roll at the time you post it to the thread. These are attempts for encounters and what you post does not matter except whether you get a number that gives you an encounter.

Encounter list: ( 32 numbers total that can be an encounter)

1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 13, 14, 17, 18, 22, 24, 29, 31, 34, 37, 41, 44, 46, 50, 52, 57, 62, 65, 73, 76, 83, 85, 88, 92, 97, 99, 100

Encounter Rules

Someone (Eftemie most likely) will then post your encounter after checking. You will get one chance to catch it or it will escape. Those who have perks will have an advantage. But don't worry, if not caught, it simply appears again later. XD

To catch a ghostling, you RP out your attempt whether it is coaxing it to you, trapping it in a cage, or trying to rope it, bribing it with sweets. The action is yours, but the success depends upon a roll. As you post, ROLL 1 -10 sided dice. If you get a 6, you have successfully trapped it. If you roll a perfect 10, you get to retry.

For those who have perks... You get to ROLL 2 - 10 sided dice. If you get either a total of 6 or 13, you have successfully trapped your ghostling. It is their badluck, not yours. XD

IF Total 10 or 20 (for perks) is rolled, you get a second chance to try.

The short version....

For 1 dice...
3, 9 = capture
total 6 = capture
total 10 = retry

For 2 dice...
3, 6, 9 = capture
total 6, 13 = capture
double numbers like 1, 1 or 2, 2 = capture
total 10 or 20 = retry

Everything else = fail

Again do not edit your posts unless asked to do so.

__________________________________________
Perk List

Only those listed below are able to get the added benefits.

Cricket - all 4 events 2 100 sided dice for all rolls.

Those below please PM which ones you want to use your perk for, so I can mark those threads when created.

Sadi Sidhe - 2 events 2 100 sided dice for all rolls.
Malia Librarian - 1 event 2 100 sided dice for all rolls.

I rolled for those active in event #2. The winner is :

The winners for the activity in metaplot #3 are... Chibi, AV, and Cricket. You each have 3 failing captures you can turn into retry. You will have to quote "He's not getting away from me!! (Retry #1, 2 or 3 please select)." in large bold red letters. You must roll and rp in that post only to get the extra chance.

To claim it you must first have a failing capture in your previous post, start a new post, add the code selecting which try (#1, #2, #3 ), write out your rp and roll again all in the SAME post. The roll must be in the same post to be valid. Otherwise I will toss it out.

"He's not getting away from me!! (Retry #1, #2, #3. Please select one. )

The Moon Church rose upwards, nearly 7 floors of glistening marble. The spire itself a gleaming pointed crystal held tightly by carved stone. The marble steps led upwards to two very large doors. Intricate details covered the exterior and interior of both.

Valkon smirked as he moved towards the church. If it had been a truly holy place he might have hesitated to approach. It was not, so he was not. The tip of his tail and wings twitched as he continued moving forwards. He knew that many had gone to the church to hide. Thinking that the bishop would save them.

Faithless.

"The dragon is coming!" a guard yelled, panicked. He looked to Bishop Arthurs for orders.

The man's eyes narrowed slightly. Was he really going to attack this place? "Get everyone into the side rooms now. Bar those doors!"

Several guards began shooing the people out of the auditorium and into the side rooms. Some were even urged down the stairs into the crypt below. Others moved for the door, placed the large bronze bar across the doors where it was usually put during the night.

Stopping at the bottom of the steps he glanced up at the doors above him. They were beautiful, intricate and the hard work of some artist or other. It was too bad they were placed on this building. Maybe someone would make something else out of them later.

Moving forwards, Valkon reached out, his claws pushing against the doors and then pulling them open. His strength was such that with the bar, he broke the hinges as he moved. Flinging them to the side, the dragon roared loudly announcing his arrival.

(( My next post will have a map in it... so that you can actually see what is going on. This entire event is in the church. There are no safe places in the building unless one appears somewhere during the plots. This ends when it ends. Enjoy!! ))

It was quiet in the church. Sarah listened to the murmured voices as some mumbled prayers themselves. Others whispered to each other wondering what they'd done to bring this destruction to their town.

Someone yelled, "The dragon is coming!"

Sarah scrambled to her feet. Those around her looked to the guards for protection. She followed the crowd when they ushered towards the interior rooms. A screeching of wood and metal turned all heads towards the door as it was ripped from it's frame. The weaker-minded started screaming. Others started crying assuming their end was near.

Sarah covered her ears at the dragon's roar. She wondered if the ghosts had chased her here for a reason. Maybe this was their way of making her meet her end as they had met theirs.

The judge, eyes clouded by hate, didn't want to see reason that the dragon could ever be good.

"You will pay for what you have done!"

The judge went up to the dragon and tried to clow holes in it's wings so it couldn't fly anymore.

Deciding not to linger around any longer, Athena flapped her wings and flew after the dragon. She heard a cry, and saw people being ushered away as the legend roared and tore down the door of a church. She stared. Was he really going to attack a church? Were they not considered holy places?

Athena began to doubt the dragon's motive, but stopped herself from jumping to conclusions. She had thought he had meant to wipe out the human race, but it was only to warn them, remind them... Maybe it was the same here?

She couldn't help but have an uneasy feeling, and flew a bit closer to see what he would do.

-----------------------------------

Sally bit her lip, not knowing what to do. The poor thing looked completely stunned, and she really wanted to do something to snap her out of it. She was tempted to put her hands on her shoulders and shake her, but refrained from doing so. There were better ways to get her attention.

She shook her head.

"I... I dunno... maybe it was something you didn't do...?"

She desperately tried to remember... she too had done something foolish, but she felt like it was something she didn't do. Something THEY didn't do. She frowned as her brows furrowed. What was it?

The mayor had driffted away from his pile of things. He would have to find a safe place for them. Noting everyone at the church, he thought about what he remembered. There were lots of places he could hide things down in the catacombs. Picking up a porcelain vase, he began moving towards the doorway.

He would find a safe place there he was certain. And perhaps that was where his guards had gone. They would be his guards once more also.

Opal blinked staring around her at the destruction of the homes. Only a few here and there were still standing. Was this really the town she had lived in? What did she do now? Moving towards the dragon and the others, she wondered if he would answer her.

The schoolmaster stared at himself and then floated in the direction of the activity. Everything had to have a reason and the more people around, the more to ask. The more he knew, the more he could teach. Or learn as it were.

Valkon barely noticed the people running paniced in the church. He hesitated, his lingering on the face of a girl he had seen at the docks. He moved forwards, carefully not touching any of the people.

His body fit in the long arched hallway because he made himself shrink just enough to do so. The bishop was the one he was after for the moment. And size did not matter in this instant. His power was still the same. He seemed to have more control over his jaws and the manipulation of such. If he could speak from the dragon's mouth, then there would be no need to change shape.

"What do you want here, dragon? This is a holy place." the Bishop stated, stepping out in front of the people. Surely the power he needed to stop this creature would be there when he needed it. He had been given power by them before to deal with situations that came up.

Valkon flipped the judge away with his wing. Then he wrapped his tail around the ghostling, tossing him outside. Even if he injured his wings, Valkon could just reshape them and the damage done healed over almost instantly.

"I came for you." The words came out clearly as the dragon's mouth moved. "Tell them how false you are, Bishop Arthurs."

"False? What do you mean? We are the church and the truth." the man stared back shoving his hair away from his face and adjusting his belt.

"Right. And I'm the pope." Valkon smirked, his jaws opening into a wide grin revealing teeth. "It is not they I want."

"Why are you here?" the man asked again. "Go away before you are hurt."

"Hurt? I'm not too worried about that. You see... I have others on my side. It is they who have deemed this to be done. I'm merely having the fun of doing it." Valkon stated in amusement.

"They?" the bishop asked blinking in surprise. What THEY was he talking about?

"They." Valkon smirked. "You have forgotten them. All of you have. This city lies in ruins that will never be rebuilt." He turned his head slightly addressing the people. "To stay is folly. This church will crumble to the ground and never be reconstructed. If you remain here, you die with him for your faithlessness."

The Bishop gazed back at Valkon. His eyes darted towards the stairs leading downwards. If he could get there, he would be protected. The rest were expendable. He just needed to time it properly and keep the dragon from stopping him.

"Greedy little man." Valkon growled. "You think wearing fine robes and gems makes your religion truth? You should be on your knees begging forgivness from the goddesses. Their church is the truth. Light and Dark living in harmony as the living and the dead should be. You have forgotten all their lessons and are not worthy of their mercy. Those that are meant to be spared will be. But there are those who will not. You are the last of them. You and your false church."

The Bishop's eyes narrowed and he began to laugh. "The goddesses sent you, did they? They have no power over me any longer. They have been weakened and this world will soon be ours to control. Their church lies abandoned, in disrepair. There are none who believe any longer. What do I care for dead goddesses?"

Athena watched silently as words were exchanged between the man and the dragon. Was this what this about? The legend was trying to remind them, make them remember... she gritted her teeth at the man's last comment. The nerve! Just because something no longer existed in the living world didn't mean it shouldn't deserve respect.

She began to understand, to see the logic behind the dragon's actions. He never wanted to harm them. It wasn't his initial motive, but the humans were foolish, they held onto what was useless, they worshiped false idols. She eyed the man, dressed in rich jewels and garment. She formed her bow, and gripped it tightly, prepared to shoot blasphemous priest down. But no, she would wait, and see what would happen.

----------------------------------------------------

Noticing the ghostling move, Sally snapped out of her thoughts and began to follow her. She was heading towards the dragon, and noticed Athena watching silently behind him.

She took hold of the ghostling's arm and tugged her gently.

"Come, let's ask Athena what's happening first."

Sarah stopped when she heard the dragon's voice. Surprised that the beast turned out to be something intelligent enough to speak and not a mindless killing machine, Sarah stepped closer to hear the dragon's words.

Sarah didn't know much about the beliefs of the Moon church, but she did know of the Goddesses and she had no wish to offend them. When the dragon spoke directly to the crowd lingering to watch the spectacle, Sarah felt sure she would be joining Winchester as a ghost. Would he be happy to see her, or would he plague her in the after life.

This day had been one of making the wrong decisions at every turn.

Dreamer followed Winchester as the sailor drifted to the entrance to the Moon Church. She could feel that he was still angry. She looked at the dragon inside the church, but her words were for the sailor.

"He may have took your mortal life, and the dreams you may have had, but you still live."

Winchester turned to face the pale Spectral. "I had a dream to sail the seas. To captain a ship of my own." he said angrily.

"You can still go to sea. It's true that you won't feel the roll of the deck beneath your feet, but you can sail with any ship of your choice."

Winchester looked at Dreamer, turning her words over in his mind. Perhaps not all was lost.

Maybelle looked at Athena and towards the dragon. Then she drifted off to warn the other humans liken originally plan.

Gya looked then at the mayor. "You are still serious about you precious little trinkets are you?"

Gya stepped in front of the mayor. "Stop now. Before it's too late."

The judge flew to the ground and looked at the dragon, his face filled with pain. "Is there really nothing he can do to stop him?" Thought the judge.

Both ghostlings and the lore drifted around the others. Was something going on more than expected? They heard the words of the dragon. But who was the enemy? The dragon or the bishop? It was very confusing.

Valkon grinned widely as his tail twitched a bit more. It thumped barely shaking the floor. The marble was solid, but would it stand up to his attack if he directly aimed to tear it down around them all? He was sure it would not. Before this day was done, the church would be in ruins, a reminder of what happens to faithlessness.

He glanced back at the statues lining the arched hallway he had come in. Not one was of a goddess, nor even a legend. In fact he was quite certain they were not even of a living person. They were placed there as a distraction.
User ImageSeska watched silently and listened to it all. None knew she was there, but she wanted to know what was happening and finally she could not stay away. A bit of fury slipped into her a the thought of being dead. Yes, one of them had always been dead and one living, switching places each year during the festival to prevent stagnation for either of them. It made them understand both. It was what she and Juska wanted from the beginning. They were sisters after all.

A bit of fury slipped into her though she remained entirely unseen by all. Even Valkon's power was not what hers was still. Even dead she and Juska worked together. If she had not been in control of herself, she would have killed him in that instant. Instead, her eyes narrowed as she folded her arms watching.

Who did this human think he was?

He was nothing. She had seen humans that were magnificent over the ages and others that were such a bright flash of light that they flared to life, flashing brightly in one instant of true heroism whether dark or light. But the next moment they burned out as if their life had nothing more to give. Those were the ones who usually became legends with enough time.
This man was not one. He was the sludge that oozed around one's feet dragging them deeper and deeper. He would be eliminated. Her lips twitched upwards as she watched the dragon. Valkon had been the proper one to do this. Not only would he enjoy it, but if the man made him angry, he would die in even more pain. A part of her agreed with that most emphatically.

"Dead goddesses. Yes, I suppose they are, but have you not learned that even in death there is power. And if they were dead, then how did they bring us back but two years ago? You forget too soon and you will pay the price."

It was then the bishop glanced at the several guards that had entered behind him. "Stop him! Stop the ghostlings! All of them!" he yelled. Pulling magic from within, Bishop Arthurs tossed a ball of shadow at Valkon. He moved towards the doorway leading down into the crypt only to have the tail of the dragon come slamming downward. The statues nearby shattered from the impact, large chunks of stone flying across the area. Smaller pieces flew through the air slicing across the man's face.

Flinching the bishop turned away from the staircase. He might make it if he ran around the hallway but then he saw the steps leading upwards. They would not let him die. He was certain, but he needed this to be on his terms and not the dragon's. The spire would give him an advantage. And he raced across the room and upwards, holding onto his robes. Leaving the guards to their fate, Arthurs grinned as Valkon began to lash out at them instead of following him.

As the guards moved, and chunks of marble began to fall, one person was put into danger by accident. He had been watching all along and he knew she was not meant to die this day. She needed to know what was happening.

Seska glanced over at the ghostling before her. She knew what he had been in life. "Save that girl. She is special. I will give you the power to do so."

"is this why you saved me?" he asked, glancing down at himself. He was far different than he had once been. He felt powerful, stronger than he had in life. He could do this.

"Yes. Save her." she replied, then turned to watch Valkon.

(( First, the guards are going to kill any ghostling they can. Within the church they have the ability to see ghostlings clearly. Something is affecting the guards and you are very plainly seen. Secondly, their weapons can do damage to all of you. I'm leaving it up to you to decide how it happens or not.

Second, if you have not guessed, the Bishop is the BOSS. He has run away from this first encounter. You cannot catch him or stop him or anything. Focus on this floor only and what you want to happen. You can enter other rooms to save people, you can fight guards, you can even find treasures you want your ghostling to have. There is no leaving for now. Yes, I'm evil.

Third, both the auditorium and the hallway are open ceilings to the second floor, so you might see others up there or even have archers shooting down at you. Your choice.

Fourth, None can see Seska or the ghostling soul she is talking to yet.
I will continue to post for the NPCs. ))

((I pick Opal please! This meta is getting more and more interesting. xD))

Sudden movement caught Athena off guard, and she moved away in the nick of time as one of the guards swiped at her. What was this? Were humans not supposed to be able to see ghostlings?

She tried to replay what had just happened in her head. The two exchanged words and silence lingered. Then the bishop shouted out orders and fled as guards seemed to pour out from nowhere.

A stray arrow flew out from nowhere and grazed her arm, making Athena wince. She growled and readied her bow and arrows. No guards were to going to make a fool out of her!

-------------------------------------

"Athena!"

Sally saw the arrow pierce Athena's arm and rushed over to her.

"You have to be more careful!"

She gingerly touched her arm, and gasped as wisps of light shot out and wrapped around her wound, slowly sealing it. Sally pulled her hand away and looked at it.

"I...I have powers?"

Looking back up, she saw the church burst into chaos. No doubt lives would be lost if nothing was done. Her mind set, she went into the church, heading towards the rooms where the people were hiding. She needed to warn them.

((I pick the Mayor! He is mine now~ >3))

Maybelle went through out the church to help the humans escape and avoided archers as much as possible. She would then look for the bishop later and destroy him for trying to hurt Valkon in anyway.

Maybelle then saw in the corner of her eyes that Gya brought the judge and the mayor in, both fainted.

"What happen?" Maybelle asked as the fox lore zipped around them.

"I knocked them out and brought them here. They were annoying me and just brought them to come here." Gya looked around. "What's happening?"

Maybelle went into full detail on what happen.

"That's sucks. We have to help Valkon in anyway. Where is Athena and Sally?"

"The last time I checked, She was fighting."

Gya then zipped passed her to Athena. "I'll help her! You go and do what you have to do! The fox lore can guard the others!" And with that he was gone.

Maybelle told her fox friend to watch them and she will be quick.

A ghostling looked about the burnout town. She sighed. "This village was about to fall anyway. Either by me or someone else."

Demeter sighed. She didn't know how she went from goddess to ghostling and came to the world to find out what happen. She then looked around and saw Maybelle talking to the fox lore and left. Demeter was curious, an animal willingly doing what a ghostling said. "Now that's interesting. She must have a pure soul."

"There's no need to give up a life at sea," said Dreamer. "There are many ships that would welcome a ghostling such as you to sail with them."

Winchester looked at her strangely.

"Yes, ships have a sense of self," continued Dreamer. "But you know that." She smiled at him. "You felt it as a sailor. As ghostling, you can become one with the ship."

Winchester looked towards the docks and a shadow fell across his face. "He destroyed all the ships," he said crossly.

"Not all of them."

Dreamer noticed the purple lantern lore still wandering. She floated closer to it. "Come," she beckoned to it. "Come show this sailor the way to find a ship to take him back to the sea that he loves."
