Chisato had needed to escape her house. Her older sister and brother-in-law had come for a visit. So she slipped off to Luxington as far away from her home as she could get. She loved to hide out in the high end jewelry store. The sophisticated air seemed to calm her down, and the fact that the prices kept crowds to a minimum were a bonus too. Usually, when Chisato was around, there might have been 10 people in the store at once.
She passed the case of bangles, nodding to the clerk as they greeted her by name. She was a regular. In fact, Chisato practically lived at the luxury jewelry store. She decided today, maybe she would look at earrings. But as she glanced up, she saw a young man that she'd never seen before, but he looked as though he completely belonged in this store- something she rarely saw. Well groomed, held his head high, and walked with a purpose. Who was that?

Nathan did not often visit this store. All of the glittering diamond rings seemed to fill him with a slight sense of anxiety for some reason. However, he needed to buy a gift. Something tasteful. Something elegant. Something expensive. Not only expensive, but it had to clearly look expensive as well. Nathan swept his eyes over the necklaces in the case carefully. He did not see anything that truly appealed to him, she he began to casually walk towards the one next in succession.
Well..that one looked promising... Nathan lifted his head and glanced about in search of an associate to open the case for him. Instead though, he caught sight of a cool looking young lady nearby. With a slight smile, he nodded his head in polite greeting. Well, gems of all sorts were to be found here weren't they?

She returned his smile easily enough. Though as she looked at him, he seemed even more charming with that subtle smile. She lifted her chin, her sharp features softened slightly. Though Chisato wasn't interested in playing games. Glancing at a stranger from across a room? That was hardly becoming. She much preferred the direct approach. It only took a few strides for her to reach Nathan. The way she never took her eyes off him should speak volumes about her intent.
Until she was standing just a pace or two from him. Now she wasn't sure what to say. How was it the common people greeted each other? She never paid attention to anyone when they tried greeting her. She felt the other students at the school she chose to attend were beneath her.
"See something you like?" She asked directly. A lesser woman may have facepalmed at such a lame greeting. But there it was, it was out there.

There was no mistaking the girls intent. As Nathan looked upon her, she did not glance away. Instead she crossed the short distance to where he stood. He could see pride, or perhaps it was arrogance, in her step. Her features did not seem to be cold and warded against any sort of charm he might cast her way. Unlike on the school grounds where the more common mixed with those who were clearly their betters, it was hard to stand out in a crowd. Here though, he knew that this girl was at least of notice due in part to her attitude, and..well...only people who came from culture or money would spend time browsing this particular store.
Nathan's head tilted a little to one side, so the hanging purple bangs swept to that one side. Now his gray eyes could look at her a bit more clearly with her so close. Her greeting was rather...open in his opinion. Nathan could not resist the smirk that took over his lips as he answered her. "Unquestionably." He replied. Oh yes. He did see something he liked indeed. Nathan turned his gaze back to the glass case after a moment, so he would not ruin his coy answer by appearing to leer lewdly at the girl.
"These necklaces here seem like what I am looking for, but I'm afraid I don't quiet have a eye for telling the difference between one that says 'You are lovely' and one that says 'I want something more.' Perhaps you could help me Miss...?" His words paused with a lingering question in the air as he cast a sideways glance towards the girl.

His answer was satisfactory. Direct, and almost coy. She turned her attention to the case that he had been looking in. "Saionji." She stated. Chisato couldn't help but wonder if he would recognize the name of the founding family of King's City's largest bank. Their family still owned the franchise too. "Chisato Saionji." She leaned in a little closer, inspecting the items in the case. "For simple compliments, you don't want anything larger then the lady's thumb. Small and elegant is perfect for telling a girl you're beautiful. Or you could go with something like a jeweled chain, without any sort of pendant. But if you go with, say, a large pendant, you're obviously trying to impress the woman of your fancy and she's likely to feel pressured by what it could mean."
Chisato was quite glad this young man had the good taste to not call her out on her approach. The items in the case were a good distraction from his striking features. His hair, and the way it fell into his eyes had made him look quite roguish. It was refreshing to see a man of class- that is, she assumed he was a man of good up bringing based on his posturing and word choices- with an almost wild look to him. His hair wasn't immaculately trimmed, parted, and slicked. She cleared her throat.
"I hope that helps, mister...?" She left it open, as he had, finally turning her eyes to him once more.

Truthfully Nathan had already picked out the pendant he wished to purchase. A simple teardrop diamond in a silver setting. Clean and not too flashy, he was sure it did not have the presence of pressure placed upon the girl, yet at the same time it was a diamond. Something clearly meant to impress the other. He did not share this with Chisato however. He was using this opportunity to engage her in casual conversation. Girls did so love jewelry hmm? With her attention on the case, he could also admire the cool appearance of the other. She was certainly a high score based on his personal preferences. When she gave her his name, that score merely rocketed higher.
Nathan nodded his head to her suggestions concerning the types of pendants he could select. All the while his smile continued on his lips. Oh, such a lovely opportunity was presented here! Not only was she beautiful and classy. She came from money...just like himself. Nathan shifted his stance and placed one hand against his lower stomach. He bowed forwards slightly, though lifted his head a bit so he could peer up at the girl through the fall of his bangs.. "Montibello. Nathan Montibello." He formally introduced himself to her. He straightened from his bow and reached a hand up to brush his bangs to one side. He had certainly heard of the Saionji's, his mother often carried on about how nice it would be to arrange a little sit down brunch with the other family whenever she was bothered to come home for a visit. Until now he had not cared for the idea. Though upon seeing what a pretty daughter the Saionji's had... Maybe it wouldn't have been such a bad visit after all. His little brother probably would have been bored though.
"You have been very helpful in this purchase. Though...if I may impose on you for a bit more help?" Nathan made a small gesture towards one of the shop attendants. As the smartly dressed associate approached, Nathan leaned in a degree and murmured. "Would you be so kind as to model one of the pendants for me? It would be immensely helpful to see how pretty one of these cold lifeless gems looked upon such a beautiful neck."

Oh, such a dangerous move. Chisato's eyes glinted with the wonderful threat Nathan obviously was. He knew this dance too. Good. "It's a pleasure, young master Montibello." She hooded her gaze from him politely. "It's not an imposition at all." She was smirking just a little and lifted her chin flashing the confidence she had at him.
The attendant got the pendant out for Nathan to observe, and stood by, waiting to be of any further assistance.

So coy...so utterly coy. Chisato was clearly a girl he could enjoy the company off. The attendant held the necklace up, and Nathan made a small nod towards the posing girls neck. He watched as the attendant gently strung the chain over her neck and closed the catch. Nathan made a show of admiring the necklace of course. His eyes slowly moved over the smoothness of Chisato's neck and he hummed thoughtfully while stroking his chin.
"Hmm...no...no... This is absolutely no good." Nathan would finally speak. He spread his hands before him in a gesture of helpless acceptance. "I simply can't purchase that necklace now. It looks far too perfect on that neck of yours. To see it on anyone else now..I will simply be comparing them to you." He half smiles and reaches into his jacket slowly while keeping his eyes set upon Chisato. Casually he withdrew and flicked his black wallet open. "You must allow me to purchase this for you my Lady. I can't allow it to be returned to the case after clinging to such perfection."

Maybe it was because he was making such obvious moves that made Chisato smile. He was bold, and very dangerous. She knew she'd have to keep Nathan in her company so she could keep an eye on him.
"It's not a lady's place to decline such a generous offer... Mr. Montibello." She said his name laced with a poisoned amusement. She reached up and casually ran a finger over the pendant before lifting her hair from the back of her neck so the pendant could be removed. The store attendant was quick to oblige so it could be properly packaged and purchased. "I'm terribly sorry for causing you the problems. This was not the gift you were intending to purchase."

Nathan remained smiling as the store attendant would collect the pendant from Chisato. So perhaps he was going to be buying more then he attended, but he could afford it. He continued to smile as charmingly as he could towards the girl until the attendant began to box up the necklace. He took his eyes from her, and he looked over towards him. Tapping the glass he murmured softly. "And this one here too. Separate bags if you please." He murmured in a undertone. Nathan thumbed out a reflective silver looking card from his wallet and passed it on to the man, then resumed looking at Chisato.
"If you are truly sorry, perhaps you will make it up to me then hmmm? Shall we say...Monday night? If you give me your number and address I'll arrange a very pleasant evening." He could not stop the predatory grin he fixed on Chisato. It would be a nice evening indeed to be spent with a female on his own social ranking...

Chisato acted as though she didn't notice him picking up the other necklace. She didn't particularly care. He was a good looking rich boy, and she could use someone of his standard to play with, as she was sure he was playing with her as well. Likely whomever else he was buying that other jewelry for. That made it more interesting actually.
At his comment, Chisato smirked and leaned closer to him. "Mmm, you're cute, but I can't give you everything with so little effort." She reached up and gently ran a finger from his throat to chin. "Makes the game more interesting, right?" She took a step back from him and picked up a business card and pen. She quickly scrawled her number on the back in curvy, flowing numbers. "Shall we continue and see if you earn my address?"

The attendant slid a neatly wrapped velvet covered box in a small designer black cardboard bag over the counter to Nathan. Without looking at him, Nathan accepted his returned card and receipt. He arrogantly tucked the two back into his wallet, his eyes fixed on Chisato's hand as she elegantly wrote out her number. Having her acknowledge that he was cute was not unexpected. Nathan knew he had the look that some girls loved, and some girls did not care for. It was nice to hot have to work so hard to get Chisato's interest, it made it all the more enjoyable in her presence. She really was so easy on the eyes.
"Oh no. Too easy and the game get's so much more boring." He agreed as he took the offered card and slipped it into his wallet. Nathan picked up his little bag purchase and took a step towards the exit. "I look forwards to our next meeting Chisato." He murmured in parting.

Chisato was glad that Nathan knew this was a game. There was nothing between them other then the intrigue of someone of their own social stature. "As do I." She responded. Chisato smirked and folded her arms and watched him leave. He wasn't too bad coming or going. This game just got interesting. Now she had to wonder how long he'd wait to call.

Nathan paused mid step. He turned to look over his shoulder at Chisato. His hand dipped into the bag he held, and he pulled out one of the two velvet wrapped boxes within. "Ah yes, and one more thing...you get this on Monday. Do wear something to match eh?" He teased her gently with a small wink. He did adore how this game was playing right now. He waited just a moment, so he could savor the very pleasing picture that Chisato set against her surroundings. Glittering just like one of the very gems encased in the glass behind her. Mentally nodding to himself, he dropped the box back into his bag and resumed his exiting walk.

Oh he was good. Chisato felt a strange satisfaction from this encounter. She waited until he was gone before wheeling around and looking at the clerk. The man looked back at her, a little unsure. Well, if she was going to match she should invest in the perfect earrings for the night, right? It's a good thing she was in the mood for shopping. Monday, she'd give Nathan a run for his money.
