Itzel yawned, she had a good sleep last night, or at least she thought she did, she just had a nice feeling of relaxed today. Looking around the den taking in her surrounds, it was then that she spotted it written in the sand. Itzel is your name, she smiled. It was nice to know her own name if nothing else. She repeated the name to herself a few times and left the den. She didn't know anything now other then her own name, but this was how the lioness started everyday.

She walked out into the blazing sun and blinked her eyes a few times. Looking around Itzel was relieved to see that she had chosen such a lovely place to sleep last night, did she always sleep in this place? Either way it was nice to wake up here. She saw close by a babbling stream and she walked quickly towards it, feel a familiar burning sensation in her throat, she was thirsty.

User Image Majaliwa had been walking since he first felt the sun hit his fur. He had no slept in a den the previous night, simply because it had been such a nice night and he didn't wish to feel caged in. In his old pride, all members slept in dens, and he had not been allowed outside after dark as a cub. Except when Kibaazi and he had snuck away and camped out, but they had gotten in severe trouble for it, and had not done it again.

He woke feeling relaxed with the breeze ruffling his fur and the sun hitting his unseeing eyes as he opened them. They were sensitive to light, so he shut them quickly and pushed himself to his feet. He was not sure where he was, having not mapped the area last night before sleeping, and began to wander aimlessly, tripping over a few rocks and branches that he was not aware were there. The normal for him. Being clumsy and blind was not a good combination ,he had found out.

Reaching the waters edge Itzel looked down and saw her reflection looking back at her. She was a pale lioness with a streak of color running through her hair tuff, she smiled to see her self. Another new experience she got everyday. Dipping her head she quickly quenched her thirst before sitting at the water's edge and wondering what she should do next.

One might think that a lioness with no memory might be intimidated of the world around her, she would easily get herself into trouble, but Itzel sat looking around trying to wrap her mind around the adventures that might be out there for her. It was as she sat here that she heard the noise. She didn't know what it was at first, it took her time, but it was then that she realized it was somewhere stumbling towards her.

Majaliwa tripped over a larger rock then normal, and instead of simply stumbling, he crashed to the ground. It was all rather undignified and should have been embaressing but the male just chuckled, lying on his front, legs sprawled inelegantly. It was times like these he thought the elders must have been laughing their heads off at him. Which amused him further, since the elders were never happy. Having been thrown from his pride, he had never expected to feel...free in this new strange place.

"Majaliwa ; 0. Rock ; 1," he joked to himself, pushing himself up and wincing slightly as his paw gave an irritated twinge, pain vibrating up his leg and back down to the source of the pain, his ankle twisted lightly. "Maybe rock : 2," he mused lightly, testing out his paw. He talked to himself too much, he knew, but he dind't know if anyone else was around to talk to them.

Itzel watched the odd lion coming towards her, the more she studied him the more she realized that he didn't seem to be able to see what was going on around him. The lioness frowned. "Hello" she called out. She didn't think he heard her, her voice had been too soft. it was then that he stumbled over the large rock and fell. She rushed towards him.

She made it to her side just as he made his joke fo the rock having two points. "Umm hello" she said lightly agian, but this time she was close enough that he should be able to hear here. She wasn't sure what to say the lion, she wasn't very good at starting conveersation... or at least she didn't think she was, it was more just a feeling she had.

Majaliwa's head jerked up at the sound of a feminine voice coming from...nearby. He was bad at pinpointing locations through voices, so he just smiled ahead and hoped she was near enough to see it. "Hello," he greeted her in returned, his voice soft to match her own. "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't trip over anything of yours?" Maybe he'd tripped over part of her den. How embaressing! He continued to smile, although looking appologetic.

Itzel chuckled quickly deciding she liked this lion, when you had no memories it was for the best that you make tese decisions quickly. "No no you didn't trip over anything of mine, I just heard you coming this way and then saw you fall, I don hope you are okay." she eyed his paw wondering ig he had hurt it she had seen him testing it.

"My name is Itzel or atleast that is what the sand told me this morning." she said a light laugh in her voice. She was sure that she sounded absolutely insane, but it was the truth the sand had told her this morning.

"I am a white lioness though, with some color in my hair tuff, and my tail" she had noticed her tail only a few moments ago as it swished behind her. "What is your name?" she inquired

Majaliwa looked relieved when she said that he hadn't tripped over anything of hers. He was always afraid of breaking other people's things, since he couldn't see. "I'm glad! I would hate to start off our encounter with you mad at me," he said, grinning. "I'm fine. I'm quite used to this now. I sometimes wonder if that's a good thing, or a bad thing. Getting used to tripping," he chuckled.

He was mildly confused by her comment of the sad telling her her own name but he shrugged it off. His pride had believed in some very weird things. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Itzel - I do like that name, the sand told you a very nice one. I'm Majaliwa-barikiwa, but call me Majaliwa, or Maja."

He looked surprised as she went on to explain herself to him, and his smile turned softer. "You sounds lovely, Itzel," he said softly. "Thank you for telling me. Sometimes, I miss being able to gaze upon another and know exactly how they look. I appreciate your description. At least now, I can pretend to see and it's a lovely sight to see."

The pale lioness giggled lightly, she was a very happy lioness always full of smiles. "I do not mind at all. I have to use the blessings I have." she paused for a moment feeling perhaps she was being unfair. She was able to tell his disadvantage so easily yet he had no idea of hers, though she had given him a valuable hint.

"Well you may have no sight my friend, but I have no memory. She laughed for really that was all she could do. "I must have written my name in the sand last night so that I would know it today. I assume I wake up like this everyday." she shook her head it was hard to wrap the brain around not having any memories.

"Thank you, for the complement, I don't know what the name means but its what the sand told me, 'Itzel is you're name' " bobbing her head to each word which was some what evident in her speach.

Majaliwa continued to smile. He was normally a happy male, but something about this female's bright and bubbly mood brought out a happier side to his already happy attitude. “That is a good way of looking at it,” he nodded, before tilting his head to the side, amazed at what she told him next.

A sorrowful, but not pitying expression crossed his face. “No memory? My, that must be hard on you, Dear Itzel. Though it seems like you cope well, if you know to write your name in the sand every night.” He couldn't imagine being without memory, although he often hoped to forget his past, there were still things he would hate to forget. Like his friends, or his mother.

Does that not make rogue living...hard?” He asked, curious and hoping he did not offend with his question.

Itzel only partially understood what he was talking about, "I suppose I only remember the day I am in right then." It was the only thing that made sense to the lioness, she didnt remember anything from the day before, nor the night, or her dreams.

She saw the sadness move across his face, she didn't want him to be sad she wasn't. "Its not so hard and its not sad. I suppoe I may get lonely sometimes... I mean I woke up alone today perhaps I wake up everyday alone, but I get to meet someone new everyday whether I am new to them or not. Its like everyday is an adventure!" she laughed lightly.

"A rouge?" she asked she did not know what the lion spoke of being a rouge.

Majaliwa paused, and an odd look passed across his face. "So, you will not remember me tomorrow?" He asked, somewhat saddened. She was a nice female. He would have liked to have at least one friend in this odd place. He had left all of his friends behind and the others he had met were merely passer-by's who did not stay long.

He chuckled a little at her description. "I suppose that is true. You will never get bored with something, if you don't remember doing it the first time," he remarked, shaking his head. He couldn't imagine that life-style, but he supposed months ago he could not have imagined being blind either!

"Yes, a rogue," he repeated, confused by her lack of knowledge of 'rogue'. "It's what people without Pride's are called," he told her. "Like us."

"No unless you are here tomorrow to tell me I would forget you" she said shamelessly dropping the hint that she would like it of Maja would stick around. He was a very pleasant male and she could be usefull together, plus she was kind of fond of the male, he was very very nice, and she made him smile a lot. Though she must admit she was sad that he was unable to see her smile.

"Ah yes I am a rouge then, I have never belonged to a pride before" she trailed off, "I suppose I shoud say I don't knwo that that is true though do I?" she laughed. "I think I am on my own though, if I had someone you think they would have been with me this morning...? I must be alright though I mean I am alive."

Majaliwa paused at her comment. Be around tomorrow? He wasn't really doing anything in the rouge lands. He was just...wandering. He had long since given up on 'finding his god' or whatever the elders had told him to do. He was blind, alone, and feeling less then happy about being a rogue. Perhaps sticking around with this female was not a bad idea. She sounded pretty, she was friendly, and she might just be as lonely as he was. "I might do that," he said with a small smile. "I don't like the idea of you forgetting me." he chuckled.

"You may be an accidental rogue," he pointed out. "Wandered off from your pride and could not find your way back?" That was a sad thought, he realised and shook his head, and smiled. "Or maybe you're just happy on your own. Pride's aren't all that great!" He nodded. "If you had someone with you, I'm sure they would stick around to see you as you woke and make sure you were okay. I would. It's the polite thing to do."

"I think I jsut like the rouge lands...." she said with confidence in her voice. She wasn't sure where the confidence came from it was just a general feeling that she had. "Well I am glad to hear that you would stick around if you were to stay with me." she giggled she couldn't help but feel like they were bother beating around the bush, perhaps she should be the one to just come out and do it.

Taking a deep breath she readied herself. "Why don't you do that? I mean stick around?" she asked. She couldnt understand why the male would say no... they would have to be careuful not to lose each other it would take some planning and hard work... but if they both wanted this.

Majaliwa nodded, smiling. "The rogue lands is a good place, if you hae someone to watch out for you," he agreed. He'd always felt slightly ill at ease in the rogue lands, but that might have been because he was alone, even if he enjoyed teh freedom.

At her question, he blinked, before a bright smile flittered across his face. "Well, if you wouldn't mind the company," he said carefully, but the smile refused to fade from his face. "Then I would be happy to stick around. I must admit, I miss company and you are a lovely companion to have." He grinned at her, feeling happier then he had for a long while in her company.

Itzel was overjoyed. "Good we shall be partners!" she exclaimed. She meant that they would be partners in helping each other but she couldn't help but notice the funny feeling she got in her stomach when she said it. "Here let me show you the den I stayed in last night it is very nice. Then perhaps we could plan a hunting trip?"

She went to his side so that they would be touching and slowly began walking to be sure that they would stay together and he would know where they were going. It would probably be a transition for both of them... but she was willing to put work in. She would have to write herself a whole story tonight to remember all of this but then again perhaps Maja would be able to tell her a wonderful story in the morning.
