Who thinks there should of been an apostate background? I mean i freaking dislike the mage starter line and i think it would of been amazing if there was an apostate background. Okay i know its to late to add one or whatever... But im just curious if anyone else thinks that would of been epic?

A starter line where your a apostate on the run from mages where templars are trying to kill you and manage to catch up with you but just before they cut you in half duncan shows up declaring the right to you.

That would be awesome. . . plus I like to do things that piss Alistair off more. So being Mage friendly is the best way to go! >.< Apostate or not its still fun. Plus it would be interesting to be a criminal in the game anyway. Although mages to the people are like abominations D:

That would be a pretty sweet idea. I'd definitely play that starter to see how it goes.

i agree!
i also thought, it was weird that you couldnt be mage and dalish.. i mean.. why not? theres the keeper, she uses magic after all.
i didnt like the circle tower background. no offense, i liked watching my brother play it but i myself dont enjoy playing as a mage. i would have liked being a mage if i could have been an apostate.
sad day blaugh

That's really interesting..hmm.. Maybe because The Keeper lived too long...Thousands of times,You know he cursed the Werewolfs and he couldn't die until he was killed or releasing the spell..

Faithless Reality DD Thor I thought a better combat system would make DA better Nooo,Comeon! I love the combat system! I know lots of people did but for me, Im just not used to so much strategy. I like to get a sword or a fireball spell and just go charging in with my teammates able to make thier own decisions. Anyways I think it would have been cool to have a dalish background and be a mage, like some templars found you practicing magic and forced you to come to the tower or something. Also I wish your freind the blood mage would have been cooler and more grown up and less whiny.

I can see the potential for coolness with an origin like that...but at the same time I can see why they didn't make it. Mostly because a story like that propably wouldn't offer a whole lot of interactivity. With all the other origins you're with a community of other people who are like you. You can talk to them and they give you things to do. With an apostate, the only ways you could convey that sort of atmosphere is if you were just escaping from the circle that very minute...which to me would feel far too similar to the normal mage story. Or they'd have to have your character hide out in some city or town and then you wouldn't get the same sense of backstory as the other origins provide.
They'd probably also have to provide you with a companion thats also an apostate.
