Soaring through the air on outstretched wings, Sakura was a pale flash of pink shooting through the sky. Her eyes were closed, head thrown back, enjoying the flight as much as she could. Her single, long braid trailed behind her like a banner. Her legs were tucked in slightly, bending at the knees so as to streamline them as much as possible.
A strong blow of cold air threw her sideways all of sudden as her eyes jarred open in shock. Her wings flapped furiously up and down, fighting to regain her balance. For a few seconds, she hung half on her side, free-falling towards the ground, before regaining her senses and rolling slightly until she was the right way up, throwing her wings out wide. They caught the stiller air further down, forming pockets that she could glide on. Relief coursed through her. "I should be more careful... flying so high can be dangerous." She muttered to herself.
She allowed herself to alight down to the ground, extending her legs just a moment before impact so as to make a fairly graceful landing considering her slightly shaken appearance. As she looked around, the adrenaline rush slowly began to subside. At least she knew where she was, and it was a fairly nice place to be. The grove wasn't too far away, barely a stone's throw in distance. Well, whilst she was here she might as well go over and see the area. She found it particularly nice during the summer months, though didn't tend to visit much during this time of the year.
