Sarabi was rushing around trying to find something anything to where. She tore through her closet, pulling out random things and throughing them on the bed. She was nervous. It was the first time meeting Slush, Isto's husband. Ok, not really, they met once, but they didnt get to talk really. She wanted to Slush to like her, Isto was one of her best friends. "Taaawn?" She called. "Does this look to sluty for a mom with two kids?" She asked, pulling out a white mini skirt. She growled and looked at the clock. They were going to be late! She pulled on a pair of jeans, a white tank top, and zipped up her pink hoodie. "Do we have everything?" She asked, scooping up Dalton. The boy scowled, "Mooom! I know how to walk you'know!" He said, pawing at her. "Oh right, sorry hun." She said, placing him back on the floor. "Adam, Tawn, ready?" She asked, picking up the bags and grabing the keys to the car.
They arived a little later at the center. Sarabi stepped out and took in a breath of fresh, cold air. "Com'on boys. Where gonna meet some friends of ours. They have a nice little girl about your age." She said. Bags in hand, she opened the door, steping inside. "Hello...Isto?"

Tawn just smiled and nodded at everything his wife said, and let her bustle about the house like a flitting fairy as she decided what to wear, and just nodded when she asked for his opinion- knowing that she didn't actually need it, and that she could solve through pretty much anything just chattering to herself. He had his son in his arms- he was a child now, but Adam was still an SM, and easily fit into his father's arms. ...The boy watched his mother with a less quiet demeanor.
"Mom? Mom? MOM!" He'd called, all the way to the center. Tawn just shook his head, though, and the white SM was silenced as they made their way up to the center.

It was cold.
Isto really hated winter. Winter meant cold, and snow, and five layers of clothing for himself and Tourmaline. Though he and his family had reached HQ a good fifteen minutes past, he had only just finished stripping down to normal clothing--jeans and a sweater--and a light jacket, the various other layers dumped uncerimoiously on an armchair.
With a heavy sigh he dropped onto the couch, but was on his feet again at the sound of Sarabi's voice, grinning and heading to the door to meet her. "Yeah, we're here. Come in, come in, haven't seen either of you in months."

While Isto tossed off his clothing, his husband was peeling off Tourma's layers as well, various colors of the rainbow being tossed onto a nearby stool. They rainbow was complete when the Skullmonkey was left in her boots, colorful stockings, a strange skirt, and various thin layers of tops. The latter consisted of an array of colors as well, but they somehow managed to match everything else.
Somehow.
"Why couldn't they have come to our house?" Tourma whined irritably, bicolored eyes scanning the center with a bit of distaste. It was too... Small for her, and too plain. Not like X's palace that the child had grown used to living in.
Slush frowned, eyes following her gaze around the center as he tried to explain, "But Skittles..." He could find no words.
Tourma huffed, "Royalty deserves best, and since Mommy's a Princess, that makes me a--"
Her thoughts trailed off as her father stood up, an action that caught Slush's attention as well, ceasing his own retort towards Tourma as well. Both sets of eyes watched curiously, though Slush did stand, motioning towards their daughter to do the same.
For now, they'd watch.

"Isto!" Sarabi called, as she dropped the bags and headed to the family. She put her arms around her friend. "I know it seems like forever. They kids are growing up so fast." She said, stepping back to looks at Tourma. "I dont know why, I mean, im not getting any older." She said with a laugh. "Slush!" She said smiling and turning to him. "Its nice to finnaly meet you. This is Tawn." She said, pointing to her hubby, "And Adam and Dalton." She said pointing to the Skullmonkeys next to her. "And this must be Tourma. Wow, you look beautiful! So grown up." She said with a sad smile, thinking for a second of the old days when they were all kids. "Boys, say hi."
Dalton had been watching the girl with interest. She was certainly colorful, and very pretty. He wondered if she knew any cool games. "Hello, im Dalton." He said, puffing out his chest and standing up straight, stepping a little infront of his brother.

The lighter colored skullmonkey rolled his eyes, and gave his mother a 'why are you doing this to me' look. He didn't bother stepping out in front of his pink-hued brother, just sat back on his haunches and poked his head out.
"Adam," he said. "And if your mother is a princess, that doesn't make you anything, by the way."
He knew based on what his mother had told him that he and Tourma were the same age- but she was anthro, and he and Dalton weren't.... so she looked so much taller and older than them. That already put the boy on edge, seeing a girl so towering above them- but then she looked around at Grandma Em and Great Aunt Keppit's center like it was a hovel. And that made him a little wary of the tall, multi-colored girl.
Meanwhile, Tawn beamed at Slush, and put a chocolate colored hand out in greeting.
"Hi, nice to meet you at last! I'm sorry we haven't had a chance to meet yet. But I've heard a lot about you."

"Sarabi," he greeted, grinning and meeting her in a hug. Grimacing, he stepped back and glanced towards the children. "Have to stop talking like that, Sarabi. I already feel old enough." Thank goodness for SMs...not aging.
Leaving Sarabi's side, Isto stepped back over to Slush, nodding a greeting to Tawn but otherwise remaining silent. Let everyone be introduced and, meanwhile, watch Tourma out of the corner of his eye to be sure she didn't step on one of the twins. He knew Adam's 'not royalty' comment would hit a nerve. And with all Tourma's metal... Well, he'd rather not see anyone squished.

Slush gave Tourma a whack upside the head with his tail before stepping over towards the other adults. He smiled cheekily and greeted the pair in a cheery sort of manner, "It's very nice to meet you both as well."
Shaking Tawn's offered hand, Slush absently sent a glare towards the runt who furthered the princess comment.
Their daughter smiled meekly towards Sarabi, not really knowing how to take all the talk about her. She felt like she were being shown off, which would make sense considering how pretty she and her clothing were, but her parents had never done such a thing to her.
The twins didn't give her much time to continue the line of thought, and her eyes immediately moved downwards toward the floor where they were. She blinked at the chest puffing, not really understanding why he was doing it in the first place, and was about to reply when Adam interjected a comment. A very rude comment.
What was with all these interruptions anways?
Tourmaline pursed her lips and eyed the white Skullmonkey, and she inwardly debated punting him across the room, but she quickly remembered that the parents were present. Fie.
"Well aren't you a sweet one," she snipped, crossing her arms over her chest and narrowing her eyes at him from above. Her tail absently thrashed once behind her, but she continued to stubbornly hold her ground.
When Isto stepped over, Slush absently twined his tail with his husband's before leaning a bit closer to him.

"Well I think she looks like a princess." Dalton said, sneering at Adam. He could be so dim-witted sometimes. "Hey, wanna play? You could be the princess, and we could be like, your servents or something." He wanted to get away from the grown-ups. They were nice and all but all they would do is talk and blah thats boring.
Sarabi, nudged Adam in the side, sending him a look. "Be nice." She wisperd. "Yes, why dont you guys go play?" She said, suddenly getting a little nervous about Adam. She patted them both on the head, then took Tawns hand and pulled him towards the couch. "I know, thank God I still look this good. I dont know what I would do if I started to get wrinkles, or gray hairs." She said, shivering at the thought. "So what have you two been up to? I feels like forever."

Tawn allowed himself to be pulled to the couch, and sat in silence, his eyes at his sons- hoping they wouldn't get themselves into too much trouble.
Adam ignored his brother's comment about Tourma looking like a princess. Instead, he gave his pink brother a shove, and rolled the eyes hidden behind his skull at the girl.
"We're not pets, you know. And we're the same age as you are. You're just taller."

Yes. Let the children...play. After sending Tourma a warning look, Isto looped an arm around Slush's shoulders and followed towards the couch, but turned towards a chair instead, sinking down on it and tugging Slush down with him.
"Same old same, really." He shrugged, grinning faintly. "Been looking for a house of our own off and on, but haven't quite found anything yet... 'Sides, I doubt Tourma'd be too happy to leave X's any time soon, and I know a couple of the other shorties feel the same. But maybe we can find somewhere 'suitable' for the queen." He rolled his eyes.

Tourmaline gave an approving glance towards Dalton before eyeing his brother. She waited till she was out of hearing distance from all the old people before speaking again, "Oh really? When's your birthday?"
Maybe they were the same 'stage' as her, but that didn't mean she wasn't older than the two of them.
"And I never said you two were pets," she said irritably, resisting the urge to punt the white one across the room. Taking a deep breath after glancing over towards their parents, the anthro SM carefully took a seat on a nearby bean bag, hands smoothing out her skirt after she was seated.
Her tail curled into her lap, tip flicking every so often while she watched the pair, "And it's mean to shove your brother." She retorted, referring to Adam's earlier shove as her fingers played over the pendant of her necklace.
Kicking peons on the other hand... Royalty was allowed to have double standards.
Slush stayed rather silent as well, but grinned when he was pulled down onto Isto's lap, immediately turning to fourth and rolling onto his back. He might as well get scritches while everyone else was being boring and talking. "X does have a nice house..." He tenatively pointed out, peering upwards towards Isto in all his skull-less glory.

"I agree Adam. You should be nicer to your only brother." He glanced at Tourma before wispering in his ear. "Be nice Adam! You saw mommy and Dad, they like these people, and besides, if your nice to her, she'll be nice back...I think. Your just annoying her now."
He grinned, and took a seat next to Tourma. "Try not to mind my brother, he's just grumpy. So, whats being human-ish like? Mom says where gonna be like that someday. Your lucky you dont have to wait. I like all your colors too." He said, his pink tail swishing back and fourth.
Sarabi smiled. "We've been looking around for a house to! We love the apartment, but its getting to small for the boys. And they hate sharing a room." She grimaced as she thought of the past arguments, remembering the toys flying and the mutliple bruises she had on her arms from trying to keep them from tearing each other apart. "So hows Cody? I havent seen him in along time. It was so fun playing with him before." She said, smiling at the thought of the adorible little centaur.

At his mother's admonishing words, Adam was instantly ashamed. It didn't mean quite as much to Dalton to be chastised by Sarabi, but Adam had always intensely looked up to his mother, and floundered under the slightest look or whisper of disapproval. ...He still felt a little put aside by Tourma, but he would have kissed her toes before allowing his mother to scold him again. So he fell silent, and took up a seat just near enough to the beanbag that his mother would think he was being nice to the colorful, cute girl- and just far enough away that he could keep silent.
Tawn didn't see his lighter-colored son's mime impersonation- he was focusing, instead, on Dalton, and beamed a flashy-toothed smile at the sight of the little boy's obvious interest in the girl.
((Btw, I'm not ignoring the 'birthday' question- I just don't remember off the top of my head when the boys were 'born'. XD I'd have to look it up. They're either a few days younger than Tourma, or a few days older.))

Isto was perfectly happy to oblige with scritches, and promptly did so, not at all surprise by Slush's quiet response. Apparently they had had this conversation before. "X does have a nice house. But we've been there for over a year now, lovely, and I'm tired of mooching. Besides, we have a big family..and we need a place of our own for it."
Turning his attention back to Sarabi, he chuckled. "I think that'd be our biggest problem in a new house... Our family's spoiled. Every house we've found that they approve of is...way out of our range." He paused briefly, then smiled. "Cody's finally letting me sleep. He's doing well.. Growing quickly. Fund another centaur type..thing that he's befriended."
