When given the ultimatum of having her child blown into the next dimension, or getting him out of Zak's sight, the choice, to one Kalinka Kovak, was quite easy to make.
So, as opposed to tearing through Zak's furniture and priceless artifacts, Faust was currently gnawing on the metal duck upon which he sat, it's spring bouncing as he jerked it's head back and forth. "No, Faust! We don't chew on playground equipment!" She yelped, going over to pry his bear trap jaws off of the poor metal duckling. He yelped, then frowned, squirming around.
"Enough, would you?" Kali kept a good hold on him, carrying him over to a bench with her. He sat down obediently beside her, taking the stuffed wolf she produced from within her bag and hugging him close, watching his mother with big blue eyes.
"No duck?" He asked, gnawing on Fenn's head, though not hard enough to tear him.
"No duck." She sighed. She couldn't understand what his issue was with chewing. He couldn't be teething; he had ALL of his teeth. So what was his issue. "BUT-" She smiled, turning to dig in the bag. "I have something else for you. Look, it's a bo-" Holding the red rubber chew toy, she turned back to hand it to her 'son', only to find that he was not there.
s**t.
Faust, meanwhile, was padding happily across the grass, Fennrys clutched in one clawed hand. So, he wasn't allowed to chew on the duck. But his mouth hurt, and besides that, there was music coming from somewhere. He wanted to see where it was coming from. His long, sensitive ears twitched, and he stepped around the corner; right into a large crowd. But, the music was at the center! Frowning, he elbowed his way through, wiggling through people's legs. Halfway through, however, he spotted something...very tempting.
A thick stick, someone was holding it, leaving it dangling down near the ground. Little did he know, it was a cane, but he didn't care. Opening his jaws, he clamped them around the stick, and happily began to chew.
The woman holding the cane shrieked as she looked down and saw the little munster holding her cane, swinging it and sending both the little boy, and the stick, flying into the guitarist her husband was currently watching. The crowd began to scream and panic, rushing away as Faust slammed into the guitarist, crying out and dropping the stick. What was going on?! Why was he falling?! Oh, he'd only wanted to chew on the stick to make his mouth feel better... Where was his mother?! In pain, confused, and frightened, the little Munster began to wail.

Lance had spent the majority of his day busting in the park. He'd actually been doing pretty well - he'd made about $23 there alone, and he imagined that he'd make more providing that no cops showed up to bust up his act. What he wasn't expecting was for something non-cop related to be the reason for his act to be cut short.
Namely, a small, fuzzy baby and cane being thrown at him. Lance cried out in pain as both the small being and the stick connected with him, sending him and his precious guitar sprawling to the ground. The black-haired boy lay there for a moment, groaning in pain, before he realized something - the baby that had been thrown into him was crying. Quite loudly too, he might add.
Sitting up, Lance quickly spotted the wailing boy and, for a moment, he wasn't certain of what he should do - dealing with babies was NOT something that he was accustomed to! Hell, he'd never even gotten the opportunity to babysit a kid before! So, not knowing what else to do, he - after putting his guitar away - scooped the strange baby up into his arms, desperately trying to calm him down. "H-Hey, it's okay! Shhh, you're not hurt!" At least, he hoped that he wasn't - where were the parents of this kid?!

Kali had been worried before she heard the people screaming, and before she heard the distinctive sound of Faust wailing. Now, she was worried, AND she was pissed.
She broke into a run, scrambling around the corner and elbowing an old woman out of the way. ******** the old woman. Where was her son?! She followed the noise, and quickly spotted Faust, wailing in the arms of a dark haired boy by a guitar case. She wasted no time in hurrying over, eyes wide.
"Faust!"
The incessant wailing of the infant ceased as he heard his mother's voice, turning his head and reaching for her, sobbing once more.
"M-mam...mam..." He whimpered, Fenn forgotten on the ground with the cruel flying stick. Kali held her baby close, soothing him with cooing noises, stroking his head and rocking him.
"Hush, my baby, hush...shh, baby boy." She said softly. Faust's sobs fell down to whimpers, his whimpers to a soft whine, and then nothing as he tangled his clawed fingers in her hair, sucking on one fist.
"Fenn. Vont Fenn." He whimpered. "Vhere Fenn?"
Kali paid no mind to the boy until she had lifted the stuffed wolf with one foot, caught it in a not so free hand, and pressed it into Faust's expectant hands. Somehow, the little munster managed to hold his mother's hair, his fist in his mouth, and Fenn, all without faltering. Certainly, he was more coordinated than his clumsy guardian.
Finally, Kali looked up and took in the appearance of the boy who had found her son. Bright green eyes seemed to be the only color in his otherwise dark appearance, piercings glittering in his ears, his eyebrow, his nose, and his lip. And, when he opened his mouth, she thought she spotted the glint of silver that could only have been a tongue ring.
"Thank you, um, sir...I'm so sorry. I just turned to get something out of the bag...he ran off...are you okay? Was anyone hurt?" She bit her lip, adjusting Faust in her arms.
The little Munster turned, bright eyes examining the strange boy. Why was he so dark? He much preferred his Mum's bright hair. Closing his eyes, he turned away from the boy, and buried his face in her hair again. They should just leave. He hoped his mother would leave soon.

Lance wasn't sure if he should have been relieved or worried when the girl who was (apparently) the little boy's guardian came over. Granted, it wasn't his fault that the kid was crying - HE hadn't thrown the kid, after all - but he knew well enough that some mothers were just batshit crazy when it came to their kids. He didn't really WANT some crazy chick screaming in his face when he hadn't even done anything wrong.
The young man got a good look at the girl after a moment, and he suddenly found himself wondering how, exactly, this girl could be the kid's Mum - The kid was fuzzy, had big teeth, a tail, and the strangest mop of almost green-ish hair that he'd ever seen - meanwhile, this young woman was a pale redheaded, with brown eyes, and, well...she was NORMAL. Or at least, she appeared to be normal. It made Lance very much doubt that this girl was the boy's biological mother, unless she'd banged his fuzzy Dad or something.
"Huh?" Lance looked up, blinking as the young woman finally addressed him, snapping him out of his thoughts. She was cute, he realized as he watched her bite her lip. Really cute. Almost instinctively, the black-haired boy turned on his charm, giving the girl a grin. "Nah, it's fine; no harm done. I think he's the only one who really got hurt at all - that crazy lady gave him quite a toss." he said, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "He's quite the interesting little guy." Cute though, he'd admit. A little strange, but cute.

[[Interesting note? Munsters aren't fuzzy. And, his hair is lime green.]]
"Interesting is one way to put it..." She chuckled, grinning back at him. "I'm gonna go find that crazy b***h and ram that cane where the sun don't shine though." She growled, and Faust seemed to hiccup his agreement.
"You were playing, weren't you? I'm sorry he interrupted your act." She paused, then grinned. "Are you any good?"
Faust seemed to have fallen asleep in her arms, curled into her shoulder. She looked down and brushed her hair out of the way so she could look at him, smiling softly. "Do you want to sit down?" She tossed him a flirty smile, already stepping toward a nearby bench. "Maybe I can think of a way to thank you for helping Faust."

[[...I'm sorry? xD]]
Lance chuckled a bit and said, "You might have a hard time finding her - she took off out of here pretty damn quickly," before bending over to close up his guitar case.
"Well, I'd hope that I am." The black-haired boy grinned, hefting the guitar-case up onto his shoulder. "Don't worry about it - I was just busting a bit. The cops probably would've shown up to kick me out of the park anyway." He turned to look back at her as she asked her next question and found that his mind was wandering in a less-than-appropriate direction. He couldn't help it! He hadn't had much female contact in the last week, and it made ignoring those thoughts very, very difficult.
"Yeah, sure." Lance bent over the much shorter teenager, waggling his eyebrows down at her a little. "I don't think I'd mind sitting next to a cute girl like you." He also wouldn't mind doing a few other things - but he could get to that later.

[I'm teasing you xD ilu]
Kali knew very well what else he probably wouldn't mind doing to, and with her, from the look in his eyes. That, in itself, was surprising. Most of the boys she'd met since getting Faust had hightailed it in the other direction when she'd told them that the strange creature was her son. Maybe he was just desperate. But maybe, just maybe, he was also a good guy.
"I'm sure you wouldn't." She chuckled, taking a seat on the bench and depositing her baby bag on the ground beside her. Faust stirred from his cat-nap and turned bleary blue eyes on Lance, frowning when he saw that the strange man was still there. Why hadn't they left yet? That was...strange. He frowned as he saw that the man was taking up much of his mother's attention. He didn't like that. She was his mum. That boy wasn't allowed to have her too.
"So what should I call you?" She asked, slipping a bottle out of the baby bag and offering it to Faust. He drank it, with what she could have sworn was a suspicious glare fixated on the sexy hobo boy beside her. Honestly, she was okay with referring to him as 'the sexy hobo', but an actual name would be nice.

Well, this was a bit of a surprise - Lance had been half-expecting for the pretty redhead to tell him to screw off after that last statement. Not that it had been overly inappropriate or anything, but it wasn't the most creative line that he'd ever used on a girl. Perhaps she just wasn't picky though - that sat just fine with him.
"Lance." The black-haired boy plopped down onto the bench next to the redhead and folded his arms behind his head. "What about you?" He gave her a grin, glancing her up and down subtly; she was more than cute, really. She was ******** HOT. "I mean, I could just call you 'pretty lady', but I'm gonna guess that you'll get annoyed with that pretty fast."
Was it just him, or was that baby glaring at him? Babies couldn't do that, right? He must've just been making a face - yeah, that had to be it. Babies were known for that, he knew that much. That was probably all it was. "You said that his name's Faust, right? Cute." For a baby with big, jaggedly sharp teeth.

"Do you have any more bad lines to waste on me?" She asked, smirking at him. "I wouldn't recommend calling me pretty lady more than once; not if you'd like to keep your pretty face." The threat was light-hearted, and could be taken as a joke. "My name's Kali. It's nice to meet you, Lance." She smiled at him, shifting Faust in her lap. He lifted the bottle from his mouth and wiggled, pointing his feet toward the ground.
"Do'n. Do'n." He pouted, and Kali relented, letting him stand and hug her knee.
"Yes. He's Faust. I thought it was fitting." She brushed her baby's bright green mop of hair from his eyes as he began to suck on his fist, looking around at the park with interest.
"So. Do you play here often?" She asked, turning to look at him again, brushing loose hair out of her face.

"I'll keep that in mind." Now, Lance could be quite the troll when he wanted to be, but even he knew when to shut up - especially when it came to girls. He wanted to keep his balls exactly where they were, as well as functioning. Having them did him no good if he couldn't use them.
"The pleasure's all mine - trust me." Really, he was quite happy to be in the company of a pretty girl, even if there WAS a kid there too. He seemed to be well-behaved, all things considered anyway...
"Often enough - you can't really get away with it on the side of the road. Cops are less likely to come around here. What about you? Come here often with the kiddo?" He could only assume so - this as the nicest park around. Most of the smart parents brought their kids here.

"I come here when I can. It's the closest park to the house, but I'm busy a lot..." She reached down, giggling as Faust took her fingers and began to walk in a small circle. "Besides. My...roommate, told me he would punt Faust across the room if he ruined another one of his possessions." She sighed. "He...can be a handful." She chuckled.
Faust bounced up and down, turning to look at the man his mother was paying so much attention to. He didn't like him. He was a weird man, and he was gaining far too much of his Mam's attention. He didn't like this at all.
Pulling his hands free of his mother's, he toddled over, wrapping his arms around the man's leg and pressing his face against it. Where, he wondered, would be a good place?
"He's never done that before..." She said, then grinned at Lance, leaning closer to him on the bench. Perhaps now was not the time to be a tease; but it was her nature, and she could not resist the flirty grin that found it's way across her features. "Maybe he likes you." And, she thought, maybe she liked him too. Of course, it was superficial. It had just been a very long time since she'd had any fun at all. Not that she held any grudge on Faust for that. She held a particularly large one on Zak, but that was neither here nor there right now.

"...punt him across the room?" Lance frowned a bit and sat up straight, looking down at the baby that was playing with Kali's fingers. Okay, so he realized that some kids could be a handful, but it sounded like Kali's roommate was probably an a*****e. Really, the kid probably didn't really know any better. "Your roommate's a jerk, it sounds like." Not that he was much better - Lance considered himself to be pretty close to being the scum of the Earth, what with sleeping around with so many girl. Still, he was proud to say that he'd never punt a baby across a room - and that was definitely something, right?
The young man blinked and looked down at Faust as the little guy toddled over to his leg, hanging onto it. Lance couldn't help but grin as Kali said that the kid had never done something like that before. He chuckled and reached down, ruffling the little boy's hair before sitting back up to look at the redhead next to him. "Well, I'm not surprised - I AM pretty awesome, I'll have you know." The Gothic teen raised an eyebrow as Kali leaned closer to him and copied the motion, leaning over in her direction. "And does his Mommy like me?" he asked with a little smirk.

Jerk didn't begin to cover what Zak was. It didn't even amount to half. "You have no idea." She shook her head. She couldn't even explain the extent of Zak's assholery to this kid. At least, not without exposing magic. Which was not only illegal, but very stupid. Living with Zak, the 'illegal' part started to matter less and less, but the stupid part mattered all the more.
"Mommy." She smirked back, close enough to feel his breath on her cheeks. "Wants to know how much you deserve that ego of yours."
Faust didn't mind the man ruffling his hair, perhaps because he was busy nosing the jeans he wore, pushing the wrinkles out of the way of his teeth. Then, opening his jaw in a vengeful attitude far beyond an infant of his age, he clamped down around the man's calf. HA! That would serve him right! Taking the attention of his mommy!

On a normal day, Lance would have told Kali EXACTLY how much he deserved that ego of his - he had an entire list that he could go off of, really. However, he didn't get a chance to start explaining a sharp pain suddenly traveled up his leg, prompting his yell from the young man. Instinctively, Lance jerked his leg up, and immediately saw the cause of his discomfort: Faust.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, OW!" The black-haired boy wouldn't have been able to keep himself from yelling if he'd tried. Having a kid with sharp teeth clamped onto your leg was possibly one of the most painful things that he'd EVER had happen to him. He reached over to try to tug the kid off, but Faust's grip on his leg was too much - and it hurt to tug on the brat too. "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit!"
