(this is a rp for anyone that is in the wolf clan - think of it as a meet and greet with the new members of the clan. this is during the festival, though not an official thing - think of it as happening inbetween the ceremonies)

Elowehi'Gili Adohi, someone who loved the predictability and consistency of day to day routine was thrown for a total loop by the current festivities. The clueless-ness showed on his face, as well as the minute frustration. He perched on a rock with a deep frown and his forepaws crossed, occasionally licking one and washing his face with it.

Well. Someone sure was Mr.Sourpuss.

Tikandari was nervous. Not of being in the clan - no - she was happy to have joined a clan and to have found a home. She was nervous of talking with others. What if her clan mates did not like her? She sighed, and shuffled around, eyeing all of the strange faces. Were any of the other new members here? Were they part of her clan too?

“Ngangkitta Yerta,” Tikandari whispered to herself, "guide me, please." Her plea to the mother earth was greeted with no reply and she sighed again, peering out at the other pridal members again.

Hatalekin looked around. So far he had seen absolutely no familiar faces here amongst the members and the lion realized that he was probably alone here. Which was no surprise seeing as how he had just wandered here by himself. Guess I need to socialize. He remarked silently with a grin. And the question was where to start? He had no idea who was in what clan, he didn't even know anyone else in his own.

Wolf Clan.

The lion's words still rang in his mind. Out of all the clans, the fates had decided on the wolf clan for him. Would he be welcome there? Was it really true that he had finally found a place to call home? Hatalekin took a breath. This was no time for worrying. It was a celebration after all.

Looking around his gaze settled on another lion, a grey lioness, who looked just as nervous as he secretly was. With a warm smile he moved towards her. "Am I right in guessing that you are new too?" He laughed, "I apologize if I guess wrongly, miss. But I just had a feeling." He didn't want to offend her or anything, but he had seen a flicker of something in her expression that reminded him of a lost cub. Something that at first he had almost felt like himself.

Tikandari couldn't place any of the faces, and was beginning to get nervous. what if she was the only one of the new folk who were placed in the Wolf clan? What if no one would talk to her, since she was new blood and they appeared to be old blood. She shifted, glancing down at her paws. Not that folk could speak with her freely anyway. She tended to get confused when people spoke quickly, or with foreign 'slang'. Sighing to herself, she glanced back up just in time to spot a male walking towards her. For a moment, she almost panicked and hid, thinking the worst but she realised she was safe. She was in a clan. She wouldn't be attacked or anything silly here, so she lifted her head to meet his gaze levelly.

She had to concentrate as he began to speak, taking note of his words. This male was new, like her. She could vaguely remember his face. He had been one of the first to get placed. She remembered the karo karo (red) of his chest. She was surprised at his warm smile. "Ne," she nodded, giving him a small smile in return, before hesitating and repeating her statement in the normal language. "Yes. I am new. Like you?" the last statement came out as a question, her hesitation visible.

Hatalekin watched the lioness with interest. There was something about her -not just in the way she spoke - but something else that made her seem to be from some place far away, farther than he himself had ever traveled. "Ne?" He repeated with a frown. So she wasn't new? The lion's gaze flickered with confusion before he saddened. For a second there he had thought that she was...

Then when he heard her confirm that she was new, the lion seemingly perked up. So that 'ne' didn't mean no. "Yes, like me." He confirmed with a nod. "I'm called Hatalekin." He paused before adding, "Now Hatalekin of the Wolf Clan. What about you?" He watched her with a small smile. Which of the clans was she in?

Tikandari blinked as he repeated her phrase back at her, her heart leaping into her throat for a moment, thinking perhaps he was answering 'yes' to her question, in her native tongue. What if he was part of her pride? Could it be? But soon the frown on his face was noted, and her excitement faded. No. He didn't know what he was saying. He wasn't like her. Her ears drooped for a moment, but she tried to smile.

Well, at least he was knew, like her. They had that in common. "My name is Tikandari," the phrase sounded practiced, as if she had repeated it over and over again to herself in exactly that manner. It was a phrase she needed to know. She hesitated, before realising that she needed to mention her clan to. "Wolf clan too," the word 'wolf' was unfamiliar, and sounded...odd coming from her unpracticed tongue.

She hesitated, glancing around the unfamiliar crowd and then back at...Hatalekin. "Did you come with anyone?" She asked, shyly. She was alone. Perhaps he was too? She knew she should socialise, but large groups intimidated her and made it hard for her to hear anything.

Hatalekin watched her. Had he done something to startle or to upset her? The lion blinked. He hoped not! But he swore that for a second she had seemed different, and now...well her smile wasn't as bright as he believed it could be.

"Tikandari." He repeated with a warm smile. "It's nice to meet someone else in my clan!" He gushed immediately at hearing she was in Wolf as well. So maybe he wasn't going to be so alone after all. At her question he fell still before finally nodding. "No, I came here alone." He looked searchingly at her before adding, "Did you come here alone as well, Tikandari?"

She hesitated, her smile growing a little under his own warm smile. "Hatalekin," she repeated, repeating his name like he had hers, though she stumbled over the unfamiliar name. She nodded her head. "It is. I came here alone too," she explained, her voice quiet as she cast another glance out to the crowd. "I feel welcomed... but very distant from the clan," she remarked. "Will that fade?" She didn't know if he would know, but maybe he did. She had been so tired of walking but now she had a new hurdle to overcome. She had to fit in, somehow.

She was not sure if she could, but she would try. She didn't want to be a rogue again, and her pride would never be again.

Hearing her stumble over his name nearly made the lion chuckle. There was something about her, about the way she spoke that made him wonder. Where exactly was this lioness from? "Ah." He nodded thoughtfully. So she was alone like him as well. Hearing her next comment made him pause, "You feel distant?"

His gaze searched hers before he smiled reassuringly, " Don't worry. I'm sure they'll be like family before long." He nudged her gently, "We'll both find our place here together, okay?" It would work out. He had already decided and Hatalekin was stubborn, once his mind was set he would make sure it happened. And at least now, they had each other. Or at least he hoped so. If she would allow it.

It was amazing how fast he could think of some as friends. Including this lioness.

She nodded her head to his question. "Ne. Yes, I do," she said, sounding nervous now. Did he not feel distant? Was she being odd, or was she too different to fit in? Were others comfortable here already? She worried that she was not right for the pride, though the spirits had said she was welcome and would find a home here.

At his reassurance, some of her nervousness faded and her smile returned. "Ne, that sounds nice," she said quietly. Family. She missed family. She missed...being a part of something again. She looked surprised at his comment of finding it together. "Okay," she repeated, smiling at him. "Thank you, Hatalekin," she said, pronouncing it carefully - though she still mispronounced his name. He needed a nickname, she decided, struggling to remember the long unfamiliar name. Karo Karo, Or Karo Karo Wati. The Red Man. She smiled, feeling better. She would not need to say his name inward. He was Karo Karo Wati, which was - to her -easier to pronounce.

Hatalekin looked around at the gathering before looking back at her. "It does doesn't it?" He replied with a grin. Family. Something that he once had was now possibly his again. The lion felt another shred of the confusion that his hasty decision brought replaced by peace. He let out a soft sigh of relief before looking back at her sheepishly.

"You're welcome." He replied with a grin before pausing. Ne She kept saying that word. And though he at first thought it meant no, it seemed that he was thinking it meant the exact opposite. "Tikandari-" He paused again, uncertain if he should ask, before blurting. "Does 'ne' mean yes?"

She smiled at him, and glanced at the crowd again, feeling less daunted by the group then she had before. She had made a friend! Someone who would be kind to her, even when she felt so distant from the rest of the clan. At least she knew Karo Karo Wati. He would be a good support, she decided, and hoped that she would not lose him in the clan. How big was it? She didn't even know.

She glanced back at him, looking surprised at his blurted comment. For a moment, she had to pause to decipher what he said. Fast words confused her, but his sentence was simple. She gave a sheepish look. "Ne! I mean, yes. Ne means yes." She gave a light laugh, sounding embarrassed. "I slip, sometimes," she tried to explain. "I say things in my warra, my language. I forget people do not understand."

Hatalekin laughed with her. Seeing her flustered like that was amusing, in a cute way. "Ne, ne!" He replied with a grin. "I understand." The lion watched her patiently and nodded thoughtfully. So she had to have come from somewhere far away and even had another language!

"I think I like it though." He admitted looking to the side sheepishly, "When you slip. Something about hearing another langauge, your warrea-" He blinked at her, obviously trying to figure out exactly how she said wara or langauge again."Well it's nice." If only he could speak it too. The lion smiled. Wouldn't that be cool?
