It was early morning, and Coyote had just woken to the sun's first rays falling on her face. She opened her soft blue eyes and slowly stood up, shaking away the twigs and leaves that had become entwined in her hair while she slept in her little thicket. She glanced about the forest, a smile dancing across her features as she began to plan her day. Of course, the general plan was always the same as usual - find someone interesting to entertain her, and if all else failed, find her sister and pick on her to pass the time. The mare was tired of the same boring tricks, though - one could only get enjoyment from pushing a horse into the mud once or twice before she needed a change of scenery. So she decided she'd try looking for 'prey' in a different area today; she started heading toward the river, but instead of stopping to bother the plain-looking horses that were grazing nearby, she continued on her way, following the winding stream to see where it led. She'd never followed it to its source before, but she hoped to find something different in trying.
