An idle part of Lamia's mind was surprised at herself. Keeping a promise, my my! Whatever would her parents think? Not that the thoughts of strangers would really have had any impact on her decision, nor would it have likely had any sort of impact if they hadn't been strangers. Lamia tended to do as she pleased, which might have been another reason why her severence with her past had been something of a literal severence. Many of them.

But here she was, back in the same gloomy forest she'd been in a couple weeks earlier. Maybe not in precisely the same spot, since a battle with wolves would have been nice to avoid today. The scene had changed a little as well. Gloomy but not foggy, which was somewhat of a bummer to Lamia, and right before dawn as it was one of the best times for hunting. At least in this dense forest she wouldn't have to worry about things getting too bright for her tastes.

But really, why was she even bothering with all this? Chances were that male had come to his senses, one way or another, and decided Lamia was probably better out of his life. She'd whole-heartedly agree, since she was a terrible influence and proud of it. Not to mention he'd said under the full moon. Well she didn't know what he hunted, but nothing worth eating was really awake at night.

She'd gone with compromise and arrived early, since tonight was the full moon, but he'd better show his fuzzy rear up before night or Lamia was going to go hunting without him! She snorted. Night indeed. The shadows were just fine, thank you very much!

Sin was nearby, in fact. He hadn't changed his mind. Yet. In fact, it might have been strengthened. During the weeks he had been thinking, something Sin had to much time for these days. Lamia. Hell, he still knew her name. Shocker. During the weeks he had been wondering if he truly wanted to see her again, and the answer was yes. Very few foxes left an impression, and Lamia left him with more than an impression. She was fairly interesting.

Interesting.

How many times had he been saying that word? How many times had he spoken them? Many, he was sure. But it was the truth, for Lamia was indeed still in his mind. A demon just as dark as he, perhaps darker. Someone he could talk to freely. Damn, he had even touched her. Yes, he hadn't changed his mind.

He was leaving Cruor's old land, and had found Lamia shortly after. It took awhile to locate her scent, to even spot her, but when he did he left the shadows, tail flicking side to side.

"Cinderella."

Lamia's tail flicked, the only reaction her body gave to Sin's sudden appearance; the reaction to his words, though, was more noticable, a firm snort. "I don't know who the heck Cinderella is, but that's certainly not me." She eyed the male with mixed feelings, irritation and....pleasure?

Hmmm. Interesting. It seemed Sin's company was something she actually enjoyed. Though she was seriously considering leaving a couple painful reminders if he persisted in his annoying name for her.

He smiled at her, approaching the female and brushing against her, letting out a rumble in his throat in amusement. He seemed to be pleased as well, and was shocked to see Lamia here before the actually time set. The moon wasn't risen yet. His one clean, non-blood splattered ear flicked, the splattered one staying still. Ah, they were alone without any predators nearby to disturb them.

"How was your trip. Safe, I hope?" He mused, grin turning wider. "Of course, if danger graced you, you most likely ripped its face apart." Before, he would slip away and sit down far away, but this time he sat beside her, giving her the option to move if she so wished.

Lamia shrugged nonchallantly, though her skin was tingling slightly where Sin had touched her. She'd forgotten how.....physical Sin seemed to be, no shyness about touching others at all. "Contrary to the impression I gave at our last meeting," she said, distracting herself from her thoughts, "I do not resort to violence unless necessary. I would not have fought the wolves had you decided to run as well."

She raised an eyebrow at the male. Surely he'd had the speed to escape if he'd wanted. Or maybe not, since wolves were about on par with Modifoxes. Still, staying behind to fight when the odds were against you was so horribly reckless.

"Impression? Do you not remember the lack of face that wolf had?" He mused, noticing she hadn't moved away. He shrugged at her, lying down on his stomach, regarding her with a smirk. "I do not run from a fight. Call it pride if you wish, most do, I call it being stubborn. Besides one day I will face a foe that I cannot flee from. Training every time I can will ensure I keep myself and my family safe."

He flicked his tail at her, grinning idly, pleasure in his eyes. He was once again enjoying speaking to her, like before. "Lamia, are you hungry, perhaps?"

Lamia shrugged lightly. "Perhaps a bit," she said, flicking her tail to lightly brush against Sin's side; after all, two could play at that game. "Not enough that I think I could eat much of large prey. Guarding carcasses against scavengers never interested me." One of the reasons why she hunted small most times. Sure she could probably take down a deer on her own, but who wanted to just stand around a body from three days? She had better things to do with her time.

This was where his game started. His throat rumbled, sending her a smirk that was not as twisted and cruel before. A opening? Was he letting her see a side he usually did not show? Yes. He nodded at her logic. He hunted large prey to share with Yuki and Ixen, however lately he had been giving them reasonable space. Some time to themselves, mostly because he knew that Yuki was not a tiny boy anymore and was trained by Sin himself to protect both himself and his family, and Ixen was trained by Sin as well.

Sin responded to the brush by moving closer, tail resting against hers. If she thought he was alright with touch she was wrong. He hated being touched. It was disgusting. Having strangers, foul dirty beasts touch him. Revolting. Usually only his blood family, save Shai and Nuishan, were allowed to touch him, and of course Ixen. However, Lamia had somehow been shoved into that category, for now.

"Then we can find something small."

((Sin hates being touched, but he loves touching? Does anyone else see the warpped logic behind that XD?))

Lamia hummed lightly under her breath. "What do you propose to hunt, then? Smaller species of deer? Rabbits?" She snorted at that one; the mental image of the big, black male chasing a rabbit was enough to amuse even her demonic side.

"Or are there other choices offered in this forest?" To be honest she hadn't really stuck around the area too long after the first meeting with Sin. It was always more intriguing for her if a place retained some mystery, so why bothering learning the land if she'd been planning to return? That was the theory, anyway.

(( No, he hates touching and being touched, unless someone is on his exception list. ))

Sin shrugged, thinking over his thoughts. Shai had faced a horned rabbit once. b*****d. Why was he thinking of him right now? Standing, he looked at her with amusement. "Beavers, moles, groundhogs, squirrels, sometimes a chipmunk, those kind of things." He mused, shrugging once more. He stood, looking at her. He had planned awhile ago, if she had come this time he would bring her to that land. She had caught his eye.

"Come, follow me, theirs fat kill where I will be taking you." He said, tilting his head to her, padding off to the direction of the forest he had told her not to go last time.

"You....hunting chipmunks." Now Lamia never giggled, you'd never catch her making such an undignified sound. Nope, never. She chuckled; huuuge difference!

The moment of amusement didn't prevent her from moving forward to walk with Sin, nor did it distract her from their direction of travel. Amusement was just the dominant emotion at the moment. "You're so big I can't imagine how you'd even catch one, fast as those tree rats are."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 23, 2011 9:25 pm

"Are you.. Laughing at me?" He glanced at her, amused slightly. Oh! So she thought it was funny, did she? "A chipmunk tastes better than a squirrel any day." He mused, shaking his head at the mention of his size. He wanted to make a sly remark, but instead nudged her, eyes flicking to look before him, the scent of decay and blood meeting his nose.

"I may be big, but I'm fast enough. I can't hunt birds though." Admitting this seemed to make the male grumble, tail flicking. Birds flew, and Sin could not climb for anything.

"Birds are less than two mouthfuls and feathers taste horrid," Lamia said, flicking her tail dismissively at the thought. Of course there were some birds that made for good eating, those that roosted on the ground rather than in trees, and flocks were common enough that she'd hunt them from time to time. The thing about feathers still stood though...

"So if the chipmunk gets into a tree in time, you can do nothing but stand below and glare while it mocks your with it's fairly primitive vocabularly," she asked, face straight and voice neutral. Only her black eyes continued to glint with humor.

He rolled his eyes, resisting the urge to chuckle. Okay, so, he couldn't climb. Her point? He frowned at her, clicking his tongue. "I can climb up there, but it would take...a day and a half. By then the chipmunk would be gone." He huffed, shaking his head at her, eyes narrowing. "Alright, you try and catch a chipmunk in a tree then." He mused, attempting to defend his pride. It was amusing to see him interact so... normally. He had a reputation for not being that friendly towards vixens.

Mostly because they all were lying twits.

"I think not," came the wry response. "If I deem the chasing of a chipmunk within the levels of my dignity, it is because I will not have to chase one up a tree." And with that, Lamia rolled her eyes. She'd heard of foxes as comfortable in trees or water as though they were born to it, but she'd always been primarily a ground creature. Her speed didn't do her much good if she had to stop to climb up a tree or plow through a river....

"I fear," she said, sighing in a style lazy resignation that she associated with spoiled, nattering buffoons, "that I may have to throw a tantrum if you cannot offer me better sport than that. Wild turkeys would even be better, though the silly clutches are so dumb it's hardly a challenge to catch one."

And there you had it. Strange as it was, for who wouldn't love easy prey, Lamia liked to work to get her food. How could one be the best in what they did if they didn't challenge themselves on occasion? And there was a kind of rush that came with sustaining oneself on food that had been hard to bring down.
