Adhara swept a hand across her bandanna-wrapped brow, sighing softly as she looked around the room that had belonged to her first daughter. The woman was in a cherry red t-shirt and a pair of paint-stained overalls, sneakers, and a white, cherry-print bandanna, standing in the center of a room that was finally, finally completely empty. Of course, it was still a mess. The floor was covered with a drop-cloth -that's what the people at the Home Depot had called it- which was covered in paint. There was tape over the baseboards and the walls were covered in a fresh layer of lilac paint.

But, the point was that it was done. Maybe the room wasn't completely finished being painted -Adhara was going to put some large paint-flower-prints that she'd found at the store on the walls- and she hadn't even started furnishing it, but it no longer looked like a ghostly reminder of someone she hoped to see again, but couldn't be completely sure... Adhara sighed softly, sadly, and smiled a bit at the new colour of the room before she left, collapsing on the soft couch in their living room...

...only for the phone to ring.

Groaning, Adhara stretched her arm awkwardly over her head and grabbed around for the phone, managing in her amazing talent to just knock it to the floor. Squeaking in surprise, she jumped up and retrieved it, pressing it to her ear as her sleepy tentacles wound their ways up her arms, as though they were trying to listen in on the conversation. "Adhi-'Zu residence, Adhara speaking~"

An almost defeated voice was heard on the other end of the line. "Hey Adhi, it's Ebby." That statement alone put quite a lot into context. Ebony, recently an adoptive mom of two, was not usually this tired or this harried sounding. Her work was tough but she was great at it and tended to delight in life. But right now, she sounded like she was somewhere between beating her head on the walls and just going nuts.

"Are you doing anything? Cause I need to go out and hang with some adults or I'm going to go nuts. I was thinking of a spa trip if you're up for it - I can pay.I seriously just have to get out."

The defeated lilt to Ebony's voice definitely expressed how Adhara felt that day, smiling with sympathy from the other end of the phone. The woman knew that her friend couldn't see it, but it was the thought that really mattered, right? She let herself curl up back on the couch again, kind of thinking that a nice long rambling-and-crying session could be really good for the both of them right now, but the suggestion that she got was even better than that.

The smile on the woman's face grew from sympathetic to excited, going back to looking like she actually had some energy in her old bones yet. "Trust me, I know the feeling. I'd love to go with you, but you don't have to pay. Are you going to drive, or do you want me to pick you up?" the diligence spawn asked, already excited for the spa day that was going to be happening within the next hour. "Great timing, by-the-way. I've needed this a lot, too."

Ebony sighed in relief - yes, some time away! "Yeah I bet. You're probably up to your ears in kids and trouble from them." the woman lightly joked before shaking her head, idly remembering Adhi couldn't see it a moment later. "No, I don't have a car - I don't commute usually and the twins do not belong anywhere near anything of that nature."

Adhara laughed a bit, smiling in a way that felt nicely relaxed. "Oh, yeah. Between BonBon's bouncing all around, Nini's stealing of shinies, worrying about Adelle, getting ready for another bouncing bundle of joy..." the woman laughed and sighed softly. "But I'm sure that we'll be able to talk about all of that soon enough, right?

"Oh? Alright, that works for me. Give me your address and I can be over there... well, as soon as you want me over there, and then we can head out for our spa day. Need the twins to be dropped off at a babysitter or anything, or do you have that covered?"
Adhara asked, ever the prepared parent. After all, couldn't just leave kids home alone. What would happen to the house!! ...or the kids... of course.

"Yes, you'll have to tell me all about how things are going!" Ebony giggled a little at that and glanced at the clock. "You can head over right away, Bovi's going to be doing a little bonding with his future children, and Mareike's next door in case he needs help with them." she assured her friend before giving the girl her address. "See you soon!"

After they'd hung up, Ebby darted over to grab her shoes, kissed her little ones goodbye - Di was VERY reluctant about getting left behind while Mommy went somewhere, so he needed lots of hugs and reassurances that she would only be out spending some time with Auntie Adhi before coming back home to him - then she was finally able to dart outside and wait for Adhara to pick her up.

Bovi? Future children? Goodness gracious, they truly did need a chance to catch up on things! Yet, knowing that it would be much easier to do so face-to-face, Adhara had yet to make any further comment about it. Chuckling happily, she smiled, despite Ebony being unable to see it through the phone. "Yes, yes, I'll see you soon, Ebby!!"

After hanging up the phone, there were a couple more things that Adhara needed to do. Quickly, she jumped in and out of the shower, just rinsing of the sweat from all of the cleaning she'd done, and she tossed on a clean set of clothing. A pout came to her face at the amount of laundry that needed to be done, and she made a silent promise that she was going to get that done as soon as she got home. From there, she hopped into the fairly classy car that her guardian had bought her as a teenager and drove off to the address she'd been given. When she arrived, her friend was already waiting outside. She honked to alert the other woman, pulling up to the curb and leaning over to tug the door's handle, letting it fall open. "Heya! Hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long~"

Ebony's smile brightened as soon as she saw Adhara and she hopped into the car gracefully. "No, you didn't. I had to take a bit reassuring my son that I was coming home later. He's a bit clingy - new greed dna." she explained in an almost offhand manner.

"Do you know where the spa is or do I need to direct you?"

In response to Ebony's statement, Adhara was really still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that her friend now had a child - children, from what she'd heard. And... she was dating Bovidae, was it? Softly, the woman chuckled and shook her head. "I probably don't know where it is. Regardless, directions are probably going to do a better job of getting us where we need to go.

"So, now you get to spill on all of this stuff that suddenly happened!"
Adhara teased, sticking her tongue out at the woman as she pulled away from the curb, laughing a bit. "I don't talk to you for a couple months and now there are kids and a future father of them? Where have I been!"
