Chen smiled and stretched in sunlight filtering through the trees. It was a lazy morning, a bit cold in the winter air, but nothing he hadn't handled before, and the canopy that was still half-intact from the evergreens in the forest provided fairly good protection from the wind and the recent snow. Ping was off somewhere else at the moment, probably getting himself breakfast, so Chen had some time to be alone with his thoughts for a minute.
You see, what he was really doing was waiting for the mare he'd been with for some time to come around. He had met her a short time ago, and she was a bit of a change for Chen. Mares were often very sweet or at least calm around him. Yukiko was a little bit standoffish, however, and had not yet really opened up to him. Chen didn't mind, however, he just went with the flow. He respected people's privacy and trust in him, and he knew everyone came about at their own pace. It was certainly providing an interesting shift in his usual companion dynamic, anyway, and they did manage to get along and enjoy each other's company, because there was definitely more to her than she let on.
It was going to be a good day today, the Usdia could feel it.
