Moira scrambled to get the "mess" of her house cleaned before the babysitter arrived. She had an important deadline to meet with a client and she had to be there in less than half an hour. She'd spent all day trying to find a babysitter and cleaning house. Luckily, one issue was solved when she was had driven to the store and back. Gabriel, a child from the Seven of Seven Facility, had been standing outside with a sign, offering babysitting services. To Moira, it was a Godsend. But now she was running to-and-fro, grabbing things she needed for her appointment.
Ciúin, her adopted Gluttony/Liberality son, was standing in the hallway, watching the human frantically run about with an unamused stare. His sister, Bleez, was rarely home (much to his liking), so she was not looked to to watch over him on any occasion.
"Mother," he drawled as she ran past to grab her coat and kiss him on top of his head. "Mother," he repeated, a sigh following. "Mother, the babysitter has not even shown up yet." His bi-blue eyes watched with little interest as Moira stopped in place.
"Oh, yes, I s'pose 'e 'asn't 'as 'e?" She looked at the clock, hoping that Gabriel was able to get there in the next few minutes. She didn't want to be late.

The last thing Gabriel had wanted to do was to be late for his first real babysitting job. After all, what kind of babysitter would he be if he couldn't even show up on time? To keep such a thing from happening, he had dug through the indoor flea market until he found a suitable watch that still seemed to work. At least... it still seemed to work at the time. He was due at the woman's house relatively early that morning, getting up when the watch read 6:00, just so that he wouldn't get in too much trouble.
The pride spawn left what felt like a half hour later, at about 6:00, catching the soonest bus to arrive, which was about five minutes later. At 6:00. Frowning softly, he tapped at the face of the watch and looked at the bus driver. "Excuse me, Sir, but what time is it?"
8:40. 8:40?! The boy's eyes widened and he stammered awkwardly. "Uh, yes Sir. Thank you, Sir!!" he snapped quickly, jumping back out of the bus and running down the street as fast as his strong legs could carry him, wishing that he had Wrath or Diligence or something that would make him run faster. Finally, about twenty minutes later, he made it to the house, panting so hard that he wasn't even really sure if he was still getting any air into his lungs. He knocked at the door as he tried to catch his breath. As soon as the door opened, he smiled faintly at the person there. "I... sorry for... late... watchbroke... thought... itwas... sixish."

The door flew open at the sound of the knock. Moira, wasting no time, whisked Gabriel inside, thanking him for coming over and telling him that she could still make the meeting with some time to spare. She quickly gave Gabriel a short description of where everything was; rooms, food, drink, TV, etc. Bleez's room (first door on the left, upstairs), was to be off-limits, not by Moira's choice, but for the health and well-being of everyone. It's just not good to "snoop" in a pre-teen Wrath girl's room. With a kiss on the head for Ciúin and another "thank you" for Gabriel, she was out the door and off to her appointment.
Ciúin, much the opposite of his mother, had stood in the hallway, watching Gabriel silently, with unblinking focus. Due to his Gluttony blood, Ciúin was large for his age, which usually intimidated other kids... that and the staring. When she'd left, Ciúin didn't say a word, just waited for Gabriel to due something. Too bad Moira forgot to mention that Ciúin couldn't hear like normal kids could...

The patience boy was honestly made dizzy by how fast the woman was darting around the room, blinking a few times as he watched her scurry around. Thankfully, patience DNA helped him with being able to catch everything that she rambled on about very easily, nodding a few times in understanding. He chuckled at the thank you and gave a salute after the woman, glad for the job and the money that it was going to give him at the end of the day. Money that he was going to save for a very important and fast-approaching day of the year. He took a deep breath and smiled, turning after the woman left to smile at the boy who was staring at him.
Just... staring at him.
For a little bit, Gabriel just stared back to, not completely sure about what he should do that wasn't just, well, staring. Finally, he smiled a bit and wiggled his fingers in a childish sort of wave. "Hey. So, your name is Ciúin, right? I'm Gabriel. So... um... what do you do for fun around here? Or what d'you wan'na do?"

The unblinking eyes of Ciúin watched Gabriel intently as the other boy stared back. He thought they were just going to look at each other for the entirety of the time the Patience boy was going to be there. To Ciúin's relief, however, Gabriel started talking. His eyes focused on the other's lips, studying what he was saying.
"My name is Ciúin, yes." he replied after a while. "I like to read." His answer was truthful, but to be honest, he didn't think that reading would be fun for two people, so he added, "But I am willing to try anything." His head tilted to the side slightly, still concentrating on anything else Gabriel would have to say.

"Ciúin, yes. My name is Gabriel, if you didn't catch that," Gabriel replied awkwardly, tail swishing back and forth behind him. A soft chuckle fell from his lips, a blush coming to his dark face. "Ah. Reading. Uh... my brother likes that sort of thing, too. I'm... not... the biggest fan of it, myself," he replied, pride keeping him from admitting the fact that he honestly didn't know how to read at all.
"Well... I guess I should know what you actually have to do around here in that case," he commented, knowing that it would be silly to suggest television to someone without one or so forth. After all, he well knew how awkward it was to have that suggest it when he didn't actually have... well, anything in his own house. It was like poking fun at a poor kid just for the things that they didn't have, and he well knew how he didn't like it. "And what things you have that you don't actually like, if anything." He silently hoped the kid had video games.

"We have several things to do here," he said flatly as he began to slowly plod off to the living room. "This is the living room." He held out his hand, waving it out in a lack-luster flourish. The room was rather boring, an average-sized TV sat on a wooden entertainment center than housed an average DVD player and some common children's DVDs. The rest of the living room was composed of a drab couch and matching recliner with a wooden coffee table that sat between the couch and the entertainment center. On either side of the entertainment center stood two large bookcases filled with hundreds of books. Various plants adorned the rest of the area.
A sliding glass door on the far side of the room led to a large backyard that was divided in two. One half of the back area was filled with flowering plants, while the other half looked to be a vegetable and herb garden. Opposite the door, near the two boys was a set of stairs that led up. Judging from the general layout, the bedrooms were most likely up there. Behind the couch was an opening that led to the kitchen. All in all, the area was set up fairly typically, but didn't really look like a kid inhabited the place.
Ciúin tromped over to the TV, not sure what else to do with his guest... er... babysitter. Grabbing the remote from the coffee table and turning to face the other boy, he asked, "Do you want to watch TV or a movie?"

Gabriel was quick to follow after the unemotional boy, tail swishing softly. When the house was shown off to him, however, the awe was obvious. His mouth hung open just slightly, ears and headwings both tipping back against his head, red eyes wide. Jesus, this was his house? And, and only three people lived there?! That wasn't fair! Briefly, the preteen debated whether or not he should ask to stay there, but he figured that that was probably a silly idea. Why would people with a house this big and nice and so full of stuff want to share it with a dirty little scanty such as himself? He shook his head and pulled his mouth shut, trying to remind himself that this was just a babysitting job. He would get paid, but that didn't mean that the person would want him to live here.
Slowly, Gabriel dragged his eyes away from the rest of the amazing house to look down -well, not down that far- at the boy, who was holding a remote in his hand. He blinked a couple times, staring at it; he'd never seen one of those before. Sure, he'd watched teevee before - at the electronics stores, where he and his brother lied to the staff that their parents had left them there while they went to buy groceries. Hah, yeah right. Groceries were a thing of late night fantasies of 'if only we were rich'. Through deduction, he supposed that the device controlled the television.
"'Guess so. If you want to, at least," he replied, one of his headwings flicking upward and twitching a bit. He chuckled awkwardly. "I warn you, though, my brother says that I watch terrible shows - game shows and stuff. 'Course, if there's anything else you wan'na do, that's fine. Or if you want something to eat." Yeah, right, 'cause he could totally cook anything. He didn't even know how to properly prepare cereal, let alone anything else.

A low grumbling erupted from Ciúin's stomach as the instinctive response to the mention of food. His cheeks flushed slightly, after it continued longer than most people's would go on for. He placed the remote back where he found it, turning his back on Gabriel as his face burned red when his stomach started up yet again. He knew it wouldn't stop until he actually ate something now and he wished that Gabriel hadn't said anything. But the Gluttony child didn't blame the preteen in the slightest, he hadn't known.
Ciúin kept his back to Gabriel for a long moment, his stomach still growling, only growing louder each time it did so. Finally, he turned back around slowing, the red stricken from his cheeks. His tail twitched and his near-emotionless face looked rather irritated. "I believe I need to eat something." Rather than a request, it was a statement, and as soon as he said it, he moved off towards the kitchen at a rather brisk pace. If Gabriel had hesitated at all in following Ciúin into the kitchen, he would not have seen the large child's speed in getting to the fridge and pulling out raw veggies. The bounty was placed on the counter as he pulled a small step stool over to the sink. Each vegetable was washed and placed in a large wooden bowl that lay on the counter near the sink. Taking the bowl of food to the table, he took a seat and began munching and crunching along.
