Wow... Just wow. In a college discussion someone called Muhammad a sham. Their reasoning is that he could not read or write, he merely recited what Allah had told him. Well duh! Allah told him "you will recite this". How does this make a person a sham?
Also, how disrespectful if that? I may not be Christian, but I won't tell a Christian Jesus was a fake. I will debate with them what I believe, but I will not directly insult them and their religion. I won't go tell a Jew David was a joke. Or a Buddhist that Buddha was a fat lazy dude. Those examples don't even apply to me because I don't believe them, but still... How rude.

I know! And that drives me nuts when people, who aren't even mature enough to take care of themselves or don't even make an effort to grow up teach their kids bad habits.

We as a society encourage non-involvement, regarding any sort of teaching that is not state endorsed as "indoctrination",or "brainwashing", a disposable consumer culture, and define progress by how much income one makes. But my complaints aren't anything new. It's the same complains that have been made since the Roman Empire

Well, it isn't only like that in America but also in Europe.
I know atheists who call you stupid when you believe in a deity or supernatural things. I know a story of a classmate of mine who told me that her mother went to her own confirmation with bare feet and torn pants.
I don't think that it's okay to do so because you hurt the feelings of other people. For them it's an important event.
But I think there are more conflicts between atheists and religious people than only between religious people who believe in something different, here. Well, in my area it's like that. I'm not sure if it's different in some other city or country.

It is funny though, the person who agreed with me that they were being disrespectful is atheist. A pagan and an atheist telling Christians they are being rude... Hm... Yup, the world's going to hell.
