I always get ...panicky? anxious? I dont know, I just get this annoying weird feeling everytime it happens
  Even though it easily fixable.
Since my uncle know more about computers than me
And I can always take it to the store or something
Plus I always try to remove everything off mycomputers
So even if it needs to reset, I dont have anything n there.

My laptops been infected again. And I dont even know how.
I went on it last night and when it logged in, it suddenly informed me that its infected. And that I should buy this product and stuff. The program is called 'Antivirus Software' or something like that.

I am not sure whether my laptop is infected since this looks similar to one I had before when it was pretending to be infected but this I keep getting pop ups. I tried to use the same program I used last time to get rid of it but the short scan showed up as nothing and the long scan took over 2 hours and I couldn't be bothered to wait so I abort it. Ugh.Might have to take it to the store and see if they can help me.
*Wonders when the warranty wears off*

Just out of curiosity, how often does your computer/laptop gets infected, whether its just something small and can be gotten rid of easily or something bad?

My laptops now infected twice in 2 years. My brothers laptop is also the same; twice in 2 years. But our main computer...I don't think its been infected at all and we got it for like 6 or 7 years? I think. At least I dont remember it being infected. It may have but since I dont remember then I dont think it that many times.

Edit: At least..It's been working again ok. I looked online showed what I could do. It doesn't have that annoying pop-up thing now. Only problem is that its a little slower than before.

I've dowloaded chrome (finally) and AVG on it. Hopefully it will last longer....I should probably download it on my brothers laptop sine he having problem with his...

The only time I've had a bad infection was when I downloaded one. XD

There are some good free programs out there that can keep your computer safe, I like to use AVG (even though it can be hella annoying sometimes) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software. If you scan your computer with one of those and it doesn't remove it you can always do a factory reset/reformat.

You'll lose everything and probably whatever has 'infected' your computer. I figure whenever I get infected by an annoying virus its about time to do some spring cleaning on my computer. lol

The only time I took my computer to the store is when my computer's harddrive fried out. Luckily it was still under warranty, but they took way too long to determine it was hardware when I told them straight up: It's hardware, send it in. I scared the "IT" that worked at the store because: A) It was a woman who actually knew what the hell was the problem, B) It was a young customer who knew what the hell was the problem. I was nice about it, I really was. But after trying to assure me it was software and trying to place the blame on me, and then finding out it was the machine who crapped out on me, they shut up real fast and stayed quiet. They got it shipped off and fixed it fast. :3 Brand new harddrive boo ya. Whenever this craps out though I'm going to need to buy a new machine...

:0 I'm so lucky I have my IT boyfriend to help me out with all the annoying program glitches and the what. I've learned so much from him. smile

Twice in two years isn't that out of the ordinary, especially if you don't have things like anti-virus installed. AVG and Malwarebytes are two good programs to have installed to deal with crap like this. You can literally get a virus just by visiting the wrong web site. Also, if you use Internet Explorer, get off that s**t right now, because it's the most targeted browser for stuff like this.

That's the same exact thing a friend of mine had gotten. She'd gotten it from an ad and it installed itself onto her computer without her knowing.

What she had to do was take it in to her computer people to get it fixed professionally. There really is no other way, seeing as antivirus and antimalware stuff doesn't work on this type of thing.

I highly suggest getting adblock or noscript + FF or Chrome. That way you won't get things like this from ads again.

I will probably take it to the store then.
I have Malwarebytes but I dont have AVG. And I guess I should get Chrome instead of using internet explorer. sweatdrop

@ Hisaki: You...downloaded one...? lol. I wish I knew how to reset it myself. Would saves me so much trouble.

:3 Ya. It's no big. As long as you catch it and scan w/e you downloaded, usually avg or malwarebytes takes care of it. Some people just find it funny to put viruses in things you download. = 3 = Annoying.

AVG is free: http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage

Google Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome ((Just in case you can't search up stuff... > _ > I had a virus that enabled me to do any searching and would redirect my websites randomly.))

Yea I know.
I will probably download that whenever I get my laptop checked. I just need to find the receipt to it first...

I cant do anything on my laptop right now. Even opening up the browsers wont let me go on anything. Though might d/l that on my brothers laptop as well while I wait for mine to be fixed.

just be careful with those. Was it a program telling you that it scanned and you had a virus and you should get stuff? GOD i hate those.
Another good free one that is really useful is Avira antivirus.
Also make sure you aren't downloading stuff from a program like limewire, frostwire, etc. Those things stuff your computer with viruses up the wazoo, credit of the music industry.

Restart your computer and boot into safe mode with network, you should be able to download things via that and not be affected by the virus. That's usually how I take care of mine. And if that doesn't work and you can't find your start up disk then take it in.

Yea, its something like that.
Took it to the store but they don't have anyone to do fix it and gave me a card to call someone else though it is gona cost me.

I dont use Limewire or any others, at least not as of late. Since yea, I had a virus from those on my old old old computer xp so I dont use them anymore.

Trying to look online to see if anything can help me before I get it taken to someone to fix.
