So, the big white lion thought, surveying the unfamiliar but welcoming lands. This is my new home. He'd longed for a pride for so long, skipping from one short relationship to another, seeking some kind of family - but it never lasted. He had Jamali now, and that was important enough to him. But he also had more than that. He had a pride - he had a Clan. An automatic family. Now I just have to meet them, he purred half-reluctantly. Jamali had gone off hunting for mice or some sort - whatever small things that servals ate. Ari didn't know, but it didn't particularly matter. He wanted to discover the lands for himself - go on an adventure just like he had in the old days with his best friend and partner in crime. But those days were long past. So off he went, a slight bounce in his step, following the scent trails of the lions of his new family, hoping to run into one.

The day was young, Tivoli had pushed him away to go and meet some lions, learn the lands and tell her all about it later. She had found friends and Kaito was free to do as he pleased. Like an old married couple Kaito did not mind being pushed to have some free time, and he did not mind her having some friend time to chit chat about this or that. Meeting others here would be important he figured. Having a family was one thing, knowing who was your family was another. This was his form of getting to know the family though, going off on his own for a day away from the stresses of having grown up and being new to a place. He was loving it yes, was he doing okay so far, sort of. He was still unde a lot of pressure it seemed.
Looking for some sort of way out he spotted a lion. The lion was on the prowl for something. Regardless if he was bent over in a jumping position or not did n't matter. Kaito could read the posture like it was yesterday watching his Dad suit up to attack something. He smiled fondly at the memories and moved forward. Not really thinking of what the male coudl be hunting, whether it big or small, Kaito might scare it away. For this reason, and this reason alone Kaito remained quiet.

Cha'ari's ears pricked with excitement as he caught a fresh scent on the breeze. A lion! So he bounded off, following the scent until he spotted its source. Yes indeed, it was a lion. "HiI'mAriwhoareyouareyouhavinganicedayyou'reElaright?" he spewed, all of the words rushing together. He didn't even think about what could happen if this wasn't an Ela'wadiyi lion....but it had to be, didn't it? Jamali's voice rang in the back of his head, You have such a way with first impressions. Yes, that's what the little serval would say. But Ari just beamed at this newcomer. You're my family!.

Kaito gazed at the lion that approached him, he was bouncy, light on his feet, a lively one no doubt. Lively was something Kaito coudl use right about now! Though the amount the lion could put out for words per minute were intense. "Uhm.. I'm Kaito?" He offered in return, not catching everything the lion was looking for. Though he thought he caught a question in all of it? Well the sound of a question. "Any chance you are from the Ela, my mate you see has been pushing me to meet others and your about as much proof I have to shwo I tried." He laughed a bit and smiled fondly.
"Of course, if you're not, then I might have to tell you to go away!" He said this with a tone of joking, hedidn't have a mean bone in his body!

Ari took a deep breath to calm down, breathing in the rich scent of the yellow and orange flowers strung about his neck. He loved his flowers. "I'm Cha'ari," he said again, supressing his urge to giggle at his own foolishness. "But you can call me Ari if you like. And yeah, I just joined the Bird Clan during the Tree Ceremony of the Sky Festival." He paused for a moment, remembering the ceremony with a kind of peaceful reverence. "So I haven't met many other lions yet. Did you go to the Festival? Wasn't it magical?" He had thought so. It was sad, seeing his favorite flower burn up like that...but it meant that he'd finally found a home. And that's all he really wanted.

"Cha`ari, good name!" Kaito applauded enthusiastically, wanting to match the lions excitement. "I just recently joined as well, though I am with the Wolf Clan, it was chosen for my mate and I. She led us here on a journey for a home and here we are. The festival was in fact very beautiful. My mane still tingles a little where I removed some of it for the ceremony." He laughs softly and brings a paw to his mane where he tore free a bit of it for his love and him to stay here. They were love birds indeed, nothing mroe magical then a pair devoted to one another as they were.
"Did you come with anyone?" Kaito asked curiously.

"It means 'With Spirit!'" Ari hopped a little bit as if to prove this. "Appropriate, doncha think?" He was skipping around answers to the questions. "I brought my friend Jamali," Ari answered fondly. "A little serval. He's out hunting right now. He's been a good friend for a long time." Ari noted Kaito's mane and looked down at his own fluffy gray mane. "I offered up my favorite flower. I love flowers," he said, glancing back up gleefully, hoping to have another thing in common with his new friend. "Do you like flowers?"

Rest assured Kaito approved of the name, he laughed with Ari. "It does suit you very well! Mine means sea or ocean.. I was suppose to end up with a step-mother in Bahari`Mtoto, but it seems the wind had other news in store for me." He laughed softly and listened carefully to Ari's words. " I do love flowers, I once met a beautful Goddess, she was made of what appeared to be pure ice and snow, her pelt glistened like freshly fallen snow at least. She was a young Goddess, but one none the less and I found a flower that gleamed just like her. It was a magical day. I wish I could show you the flower we found. You'd have loved it Ari!" He beamed happily at the memories.

"A flower of ice and snow? But how?" Ari's voice was filled with awe. Where could one find a flower made of ice and snow? He had certainly never met a god or goddess before, and didn't even know that they were real. I guess it's time to take such tales more seriously. The flower sounded so lovely - if this goddess could make such lovely flowers, surely he would like to meet her someday. But were there other gods or goddesses out there? Ari didn't know. He was slightly flabbergasted at the idea.

Kaito had been just as bewildered as Ari was just now, he enjoyed the moment a little to much he thought, priding himself in meeting a God, though he at one point thought it was common company among a few lions. Obviously this unfortunate lion was proof that the Gods did not walk among Mortals all to often. Or fly in the case of the GOddess he met. "My Dad used to tell me stories, tell me all sorts of stories of the Gods he had seen, though he never mentioned meeting one. If I was the first in our family line I'd be so honored." He smiled proudly. "though the idea of there being adult Gods out there... for probably anything as simple as anger. It is a frightening realty." He said softly. "The things such Gods coudl do!" He stated.

Ari's mouth hung open slightly as he listened to the story. If joining the Ela'wadiyi meant stories and gods, he knew that he was already liking the place more and more. It had so much culture - he had already learned much of it during the Sky Festival, but he didn't know if gods were a universal thing or just an idea of the pride. If these gods were real, they had to travel all over the world - so perhaps they couldn't just exist for one pride. But this Kaito was impressive; he'd actually met a god. "Yes," he finally answered. "They must be so powerful." He might actually have to find some kind of faith someday. But he changed the topic, "So you've found a mate?"

With the if's, the belief and Gods off the table Ari had just open a whole new ball game. Tivoli was Kaito's pride and joy, the reason he had the heart to move from where he was and the reason he had come so far to find a home. "Yes, my Tivoli, we met a long time ago, it was love at first sight..." He sighed happily, starting his story. "She was out on her own, a lone wolf type of character, a bouncy one though. She has always been so happy and majestic as she is today. Coming here has only improved and bettered her. Her pelt is a golden color, tinted with orange stripes. Her eye's, those beautiful orbs. I could stare into them for ages. Together I figure we make the perfect couple, like earth meet sun." He smiled sweetly, off in his own world.
Suddenly popping out of it he smiles broadly. "It's the kind of feeling I wish for all lions in their lifetime to have."

Ari suddenly grew quiet. He hated when he slipped up like that - he always spoke before he thought. He knew speaking of mates would bring up painful, embarrassing memories - the very memories that he had joined this pride to escape. "I felt something like that once," he said softly, remembering Layilme and his own childish cowardice. "It had been more out of a mutual sympathy than anything like it sounds like you have," echoing the way that his little mentor Jamali had explained it. No, it hadn't been love. It was just two lonely lions looking for a home or a family, knowing that they weren't right for each other and that it wouldn't go anywhere good. Ari pinned his ears back with embarrassment, clenching his mouth shut. He didn't want to think about it; he didn't want to talk about it. He shut his crimson eyes painfully for a moment, resisting the familiar urge to run away from painful thoughts. He was trying to make a new friend here; he couldn't just run away for no good reason.
Jamali had taught him that much, at least. So he took a deep breath and looked back up at Kaito, making himself smile. "But it's good that you've found something so beautiful. I'm happy for you." He almost wanted to whisper But it could never happen to me, but he kept his mouth shut.

Kaito, not as blind as Tivoli had told him once before moved to Ari. He didn't know if the lion was okay with being touched, but Kaito went in range and brought a strong paw to Ari's shoulder blade. "My love for tivoli did not come without it's bumps or bruises before meeting her. In order to get to the good you must face the bad. You are here now Ari, you are one of us, we are a family. If you don't find it there, you have it here with me at least. We are not blood, but by being a lion alone we should be there for one another. Be strong for one another. I fear you mistaken yourself for someone of a cruel nature, only cruel lions don't get a second chance. Love will find it's way into your life, I feel love for you now. Maybe not the kind of love you want or are yearning for, but brother I am here for you. Whatever you have suffered, I will be your shoulder to cry on, to lean on and will listen to anything you wish to tell."
Kaito left his paw there, feeling the warmth of the other lion felt comforting to Kaito who had been near tears in seeing the lion in so much pain, he had regretted spilling his love for Tivoli to him, it seemed that may not have been where the lion meant to go wit their meeting, but Kaito was on top of things and wanted nothing less then to help this lion back on his paws.
