Gaaghii was the strong silent and now it seemed everyone knew it. Word got around that he, had a lack of words. Course there had been a surge of new members after the recent ceremonies, and he had taken in interest in watching them observantly from his den. And observant he was.

He was very true to his name, Gaaghii meant black bird. He was known for his strong silent ways of doing things, but when he spoke; all listened and his words were heard with extreme interest. If Gaaghii opened his mouth to say something, it must be of importance. As he was also known for being wise.

And a very kind creature as well, as the tale told on his pelt of the baby giraffe and how he returned it to its mother.

xx

Fresh faces gleamed from where he stood, his mate was next to him and had found herself in a fit full of chatter with a female next to her about something or other, he figured it was about the pride. This had been her life long dream it seemed, ever since he had met her, as the twilight hit the day and the sky became a hay purple she'd begin her tale. The tale of her longing for a home, for a mate and to settle down. She had these dreams, not visions like he remembered a seer having, but he quickly learned that any lion or lioness.. or probably any species of animal that dreams and yearns hard enough they will see their goals. His goals became her goals when they met, it was love at first sight, a tale to be told all in itself, for now his mind that had wandered returned to him quickly. He was in a new place, a new day and a new home. He smiled to Tivoli sweetly and found himself wanting to wander.

Kaito moved slowly with grace, his legs were long, not a truly unusual length, but enough that gave him this aura of watch him carefully. He carried no look of wanting to hurt anyone, in fact he appeared to be teddy-bear like, a soft male with no more idea to injure someone then a fly would be to stick around and be swatted. Thsi made him approachable and even fit to have random conversations with, this he did not fear. New faces meant new friends and this made Kaito very excited. "The faces, the faces. I can't wait to meet and know some of these lions in my new home.." He murmured, making him, more then he already was, obviously a newbie. It didn't help him that the festivals had ended no mroe than a week and a bit ago he guessed, he'd been so focused on settling down that time seemed to fly. He laughed softly at this.

It was a little after that he spotted the male, it was the first male he felt a longing for, not in any way more then to talk of course, he had his mate and he didn't really swing that way. The male had beautiful markings all up and down his body, if Kaito remembered correctly the markings were stories, stories of the males life perhaps? He smiled wamrly and decided to approach. "Good morning, my name is Kaito." He offered, his tone smooth and happy. "I'm new here, just recently added to the Wolf Clan." He didn't know if such an introduction was necessary, but he provided what he coudl to seem open and friendly.

Gaaghii hadn't noticed the oddly colored male until words had been spoken. Upon looking at the stranger, he took note of how his pelt resembled rocks with algae or moss on them; very natural but something you don't normally see on a lion. He lifted his head, tossing his mane from his eyes so he could see more clearly. He guessed from the lack of tattoo's that this was a new male. He bobbed his head in greeting, not speaking right away, but observing him for a moment.

A lot of the new members were so excited to be here... he couldn't imagine being anywhere else but here. Course, he had been born here, with no desire to leave... it was rare for anyone to leave. His parents were also those who had joined the pride... together as a couple and they were home here.

He opened his mouth to speak finally. "I am Gaaghii of the bird clan." He said, his voice very deep and mysterious as it slid by his tongue. "You are one of the new comers, right?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 3:23 pm

He watched the mane, the eye's, the reaction to the voice. Kaito himself was observant, perhaps not as much as this male, but was suitably enough for being male at all. Every male he met had goals, but no attention span, this lion, just by how he was, made Kaito assume he had both and priorities! Silently he hoped he hadn't just decided to bother a leader of sorts, or were all clan members this way, silent and studious. It was a trait that was certainly admirable. "Yes, I am a new comer, I have traveled far with my mate Tivoli to be here. The Tree Ceremony was absolutely beautiful, so many lions have joined with us." He said, praising the prides enthusiasm in things like ceremonies, he couldn't imagine a pride that could even compete with it.

"I hope I didn't intrude on anything? You seem to be deeply in focus." He smiled fondly, ears twitching lightly, he hoped he hadn't intruded, sincerely he did, but he hoped he hadn't just as badly. Finally he was hearing the voice of another. He had not had a chance in the world to speak to many of just normal things beyond joining in a week. He was excited, just like everyone else, but was looking forward to having a new family here out of everything. He sadly recalls his family, one he had lost touch with unfortunately. His Father had wandered to be with his mate in Bahari and his siblings had all grown, like him, and gone their seperate ways.

"What is your job in the pride, if you don't mind me asking?" It sounded like a weird question to him, but it was to late, the question was out there.

Gaaghii nodded his head at hte males words. He joined with a mate, just like his own parents had. He approved of this greatly. Something about them joining together seemed to deem them worthy of one another forever. He greatly approved. He certainly hoped that someday he would meet his true love. "A mate. I approve. Your lives will be whole here..." He said with a warm smile, nodding his head again. "My parents arrived as a couple long ago as you have."

"No no... no intrusion." He shook his head. "I am quiet always. I am known for it." He added. His tail curled around behind his legs. "I am a hunter. Nothing more."

Kaito was certainly impressed by the male. He was bold in a back of the pack kind of way. He watched as Gaaghii's eye's transformed to match a look of approval, something Kaito had not expected but was extremely pleased to see. He smiled a bit bigger and glanced behind him where he had left his mate not to far back. The skies graced them with more sun at this point, he glared against it, then found a way of seating himself to keep it from his eye's. "My mate is my life, she's the be all of reason I have ended up hear. I lost my family, in a sense, it was not sad, or tragic and they are very much still out there, but we are not in contact anymore. I miss them however and wish them well. Tivoli has given me a new sense of family and here has become a new home. I already know what you say is true. I feel like a whole lion here." His smile grew warm and flavourful, eye's a couple of bouncing orbs.

"A hunter! My, I have not met a hunter that hunted for a whole pack before. Or clan.. as I am not sure how that works just yet." He gave a soft laugh of insecurity, but quickly found himself and his confidence. "I have only hunted for myself, and when I met Tivoli, her as well. Never for more than that. I was only with my family until I was an adolescent, which I assume is truely where the learned lessons are to set in. I never finished my lessons, part of being on my own I suppose. My meals never consisted of anything large because of it." He laughed, almost saddly, but the cheer never left. his ears perked and he gazed up then back to Gaaghii.

"Do you think there will be any rain Gaaghii?" In truth, Kaito had lost a sense for words and even struggled at speaking Gaaghii's name, but was trying. He wasn't much of a social butterfly afterall!

Gaaghii chuckled to himself as it seemed the new one had a lot of wind in his lungs. Not that he disliked conversation. He usually just... didn't talk a lot. Like normally he was apart of converstations, just observing and nodding and adding a few tidbits here and there... but this male was intruiging him.

"Aie, a hunter. Just a simple life. I don't mind it. Though some folk think I am too soft." He turned so that the male could see his tattoo of a giraffe on his side. "I once found a new born giraffe, seperated from its mother... and instead of taking its flesh to feed my clan, I chose to find it's mother. I could not rightfully take it's life knowing it was alone. So I left the pride and found it's family. I was then given this tattoo to always remember my kindness..."

Kaito was growing more and more excited. The lion whom had stated he was usually just quiet was talking a lot with him! That must be a great sign! He smiled excitedly and fleshed out his questions and such more so that he could keep the lion talking with him annnd so he coudl understadn some more. Then the story of the giraffe. "You saved a baby giraffe.. I've never seen a baby giraffe!." He stated boldly, eye's widening like a cubs. He was beginning to grow up all over again, enjoying the stories the 'elders' told and so on. HE admired the tattoos being shown to him and smiled again.

"Not to intrude on what seems to be a tradition with cubs growing up here, but new comers.. are we given tattoos that tell stories?" His wording was a little childish, but he got his point out and he looked genuinely curious about it.

Gaaghii chuckled at the reaction of Kaito. He knew that this pride was sometimes hard for others to understand right away and wasn't really ever the one to have to explain anything to them. He chuckled to himself again. "They are... smaller than their parents. Otherwise, they look the same... just... smaller." He couldn't think of any other way to say it. He smiled back at seeing the poor thing, standing alone and afraid. He guessed it had been seperated during a stampede or something.

But the infant sensed Gaaghii's reason for being there and his intentions. It was a simple act, simply walking around keeping it safe until he found it's mother.

"As a child, we are given markings of no significance usually, unless the birth was of significance. As in, perhaps during a storm or a time of great sadness. As we grow, the things we do are put onto us."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 6:47 pm

Kaito watched adn waited patiently as the male went back into his own mind, recalling the event in which rescuing the giraffe was involved, while the imaginations were going nuts Kaito was trying to puzzle out how a small version of a giraffe would be to see, he almost laughed out loud form the image in his head. He found it rather amusing to think of such a large creature as miniature, but then again he was a small version of his Dad? So perhaps it might be silly to the giraffe thinking of lions as littler version of themselves? He thought of it, twisted and untwisted his mind a little then simply gave into the just cause theory.

"So we tell our own stories and the stories are told on us?" He offers a short statement, straight to the point, but he was unsure. It's one thing to ask a question, another to answer you own right after it being answered, suddenly Kaito kinda became quiet, he did not mean any disrespect, but was slow to realize he may have caused some form of misread communication that could cause one to dislike him. He was a softie, a big old teddy bear wishing to learn what he could, and so this, hoever uncommon, was something taht came up every now and again.

Gaaghii laughed aloud. "yes... Our markings are our life story." He nodded, looking at his paws; where he had claws marked onto himself "See how my toes have claws. THis was to symbolize how i restrained myself from injuring the baby..." He said with a smile. "There is a member in another clan, where a shark is placed on his pelt... not because he has seen one... but because of his personality. Sometimes, the markings do not make sense... if only to ourselves."

He pointed a paw to Kaito. "You will be painted, but only on your legs. Or a small part of your body. As your life's story here has just begun and it is not custom for your pelt to be full... but none the less you will have great honor in it!"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 7:54 pm

aito had become truly embarressed by the laughter, but accepted it and moved on with a laugh of his own. "I would never have thought they'd giiive you claws for not harming." Kaito muttered, staring openly at the painted markings. But the second or third parts made sense. "I can understand if others may not understand, I know it will take me a great longer then it will Tivoli to figure out the tattoos and what they may or may not represent. She has a good eye for people." He smiled proudly about his mate.

"I cannot wait til I get my first markings! I don't know what mine would be though! I don't really know how my story will go." Another silly statement, of course he wouldn't know, he wasn't a seer or anything. He chuckled at himself lightly and wibbled a bit on the spot. How amture of him.

Gaaghii smiled. "All in good time." He said, grinning softly. it was a great honor and thrill to really become one with the pride. To be marked like them and welcomed truly as one of them. He smiled. "You may not get them right away. You can easily choose your tattoo's right away but... I think waiting until something important to you and your life... and get something that will remind you and everyone forever."

He shook his mane and smiled. "I am hoping that soon I will find a mate that I can settled down with. I am.. to quiet... for my own good sometimes I think..." He paused. "Course.. Look at me now." He laughed. "You've broken my quiet shell..." He smiled to himself.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 9:11 pm

Impatient as he was Kaito nodded in agreement that all in due time he'd find good enough reason to bear the markings of this beautiful place, but Gaaghii was right, waiting would be the way to do it.

Kaito smiled brightly at Gaaghii, he remembered those dreams, now they were true as the sky was blue on clear days. "I'm sure you will find someone that will fill the silences on your quiet days and be more than willing to listen to every word that comes out of your mouth with full intention to love it. You are a deserving lion!" He smiled fondly. "I've broken your silence, and openned your lips have I! Haha, a great shell to break! It is a good omen of friendship I hope."

Gaaghii smiled. "Oh yes. I think we are friends now. I think that much is true. Indeed." He felt rather warm at these words. Hopefully all new comers were like this. He hoped he hoped. He smiled, looking to the side for a moment and then bobbing his head, standing.

"I suppose I should be on my way...' He said simply, smiling warmly to his new friend Kaito. "It was very nice to meet and talk to you. I hope to do it again sometime and perhaps see you with some tattoo's like me. It was nice to get to know you Kaito and I hope to see you again"

He said with an eyebrow wiggle, before turning and walking off.
