The Weeping Forest had always been off limits to students.

Today was by all means no exception. Even if the entire visible vicinity of the forest was covered in a strange thick white mist. Even if said odd mist was curling out off the edges of the forest, right through Breck's shed, and around the campus walls.

What was more was the faint echoing sound, most audible around the outskirts of Breck's shed, a strange sort of humming noise, nothing like any resident of Halloween had ever heard. What could it be?

((OOC: YOU ARE HERE:

The Investigation:

- If your student is here, they have heard the strange sound, saw the fog, saw something, and have arrived at the outskirts of Breck's Shed. The Weeping Forest lies directly only a hundred or so paces in front of you. Some strange footsteps can be seen trailing from the edges of where your student is standing all the way into the forest. Hrmm...
- Feel free to rp them investigating around Breck's Shed (not too close to it of course, due to the traps), maybe you'll find some clues, try to sleuth out what is going on. After all this odd foggy weather has to mean something. ))

Vaith could feel his familiar hiding within the safety of his hood, it's wings shaking and head peeping out. The strange mist was strangely heavy, Vaith's hands extended to catch his footing by grabbing onto a stray trunk of a tree. His hand reached out to rub the back of his head in a clueless manner, also taking in the warmth of his neck in comparison to the chilly weather.

"Mysterious." He commented, staring down at the footprint. He vaguely wondered if his own footprint fit this strange one. A question he quickly acted upon by stepping on a footprint. He lifted his foot and stepped back down on it. Lift. Step. Lift. Step. This process continued until one of the footprints was lost to Vaith's distinct boot-like one.

Hey. It was one clue. FOOTPRINTS MATTERED OK. (Perhaps not when he was stepping on them.)

He probably shouldn't be here. The last time he came to this part of the school he nearly died out of fear. Unfortunately, curiousity got the better of him and now he found himself prowling around the dreaded shed. Though far enough away that all of those traps were harmless. The last thing he needed was to be attacked when he wasn't even going to the shed! Wouldn't that just be his luck?

That aside, it was weird. The area was completely shrouded in mist. A really thick mist and there were some strange foot prints leading to the forest entrance and not his either! That was for sure! But who, or what, could they belong to? Apparently he wasn't the only one trying to figure it out either. Someone else was up ahead and comparing the foot prints as well. Though it didn't look like they had any luck.

"I highly doubt they're yours." He called towards the other boil, before approaching with his usual toothy grin.

What in Jack was all of this? Where had all the mist come from? And.. What was that sound?

Mei had followed after Tybalt (unknown to him of course) curious as to how long it would take for him to catch on to her presence. Maybe he had some answers to what was happening? In any case, it seemed like fun! Much better than hanging around her dorm and browsing through old magazines that is.

Quietly, Mei moved behind the boil as silent as she was able; careful not to step on anything and give her position away. Not an easy task when the ground was masked in this soupy fog.. Her gaze locked onto another student as Tybalt called out to him. Another boil? Was he hoping to discover what was happening as well? Hmm.. In any case, it appeared that Tybalt wasn't too knowledgeable about this abnormality either. Oh well! She was here now, might as well make the most of it!

Holding back a snicker, Mei moved forward to tap the Black dog upon the shoulder. "Boo!"

Sarias eyed up the fog that seeped and slithered over the school grounds. Brecks shed was becoming lost within its cloudy grasp but she knew better that to start looking over their first. Mist did not dispel traps.

Walking closer to the forest edge she noted the footsteps stuck deep into the muddy underground. She defiantly wasn’t alone then. It was the noise that had struck her first, her much needed ‘FEAR’ sleep had been so unmercifully interrupted by the howls and squeals of the night, which is normal of course, itsd Halloween Town. But these sounded were mingled with a humming and altogether different and uneasy sound. Being the type of ghoul to always help out….wait she was dreaming again of being someone else. No, she was just being nosey, that was it.

Maybe it was a good thing the first of the students arrived as they did. From exactly Vaith and Tybalt's vantage point, something odd was sparkling, on what seemed like the very edge of said forest.

It was forbidden to go even close to the Weeping Forest, but it wouldn't hurt just to take a small peek at what it was right?

Somewhere near by, something, or someone, laid stunned in the grass a fair distance away from the shed, Said something began to stir and groan, sitting up to reveal herself to be Astra, who was feeling rather sore from hersudden flight/

"Stupid carpet spring..." She grumbled while checking to see her antenna were still intact. Yeah, they were. So were her wings, thank jack. But as she checked her surroundings, she realized she could hear a odd..humming. Plus, she couldn't see ten feet in front of her. Perhaps being air born would allow her to see properly, and even see the source of the humming. Her wings kicked into action, and within seconds she had gained enough high to see over the mist.

From what she could see, the weeping forest was some distance away, but if she squinted enough she could see some footprints leading into the forest...That was strange. No one was allowed to go into the forest! And it seemed she wasn't the only one who had noticed the strange events. A few other students were nearby, and one of them she recognized as the black dog from Christmas town. Being the curious Fairy that she was, she sped towards the area with the other students, allowing herself to hover just above the shed before noticing one of the boils was sneaking up on another....heyyy, that looked like a good idea! Not int he sense that it could be helpful..but she thought it would be fun.

She dove into the mist before she could be seen by anyone(or she hoped) and landing on the ground, tip toed towards the other boil. Once she was close enough, she waited until the other had said 'boo!" before she herself jumped up and shouted. "BOO!"

"JIMMY, JIMMY NO, COME BACK!"

Her words, however, fell on deaf ears as the little Reigndeer galloped further and further away, its expression one of sheer joy as the chilly wind ruffled its fur. It had heard an interesting sound coming from the forest while playing tag with its newfound (rather violent) BBF, and had made a beeline towards it - towards a place Lizzy had not visited for a long time... Breck's shed.

"Come on, Amrita, we have to stop them!" Lizzy frowned, obviously distressed at the thought of Jimmy being alone... Or rather, alone with DC or whatever lies behind Breck's shed. After all, while she had reached all the wya to the end before, she still has no idea what she had seen in that shed... Grabbing the ghoul's hand, she started to run after the Minipet, surprised that it could run as fast as it did.

Running? Again? Really?

As far as she was concerned Death Charm could do whatever the jack he wanted. Yes, go get caught by Breck's hounds or various other traps the groundskeeper had set up. Really, that would teach him! There was nothing bad about this! But, sadly, Lizzy upheld her morals for her, and so the Vetala ran as best as she could alongside the Demoness.

"Death Chaaaarm~" Amrita whined, not completely convincing about her want for him to come back. "AT LEAST DON'T HURT JIMMY!" That, honestly, she was worried about. Death Charm could get dropped in a lake, but Jimmy was the (albeit mentally slow) reincarnation of Jimmy from ChristmasTown, and he couldn't get hurt again!

But, before they could go very far, Amrita dug her feet into the ground, pulling hard on Lizzy. WAIT! She recognized this place!

"Lizzzzyyyy~" She said in a harsh whisper. "We're not s'posed to be here!"

Ren had been bored. Walking absentmindedly across the school grounds, he had been about to go back to his dorm (or maybe LW's room to bother the werewolf), but there had been a sudden, strange noise emitting from a few yards away, by that old shed. Ren had avoiding going to the groundskeeper's place for various reasons, but the sound, along with a vague white mist surrounding the forest beside the shed, were odd enough to have made him curious.

Making his way towards the shed, Ren found he wasn't the only one. There were a few other students, several of whom he had seen around the school briefly, but one of which he recognized immediately.

"Yo, Vaith," Ren said, stepping over to the reaper. Vaith was looking downwards, musing to himself, and Ren's eyes followed where he was examining, spotting a trail of footprints left behind in the damp, muddy grass.

"Hmm..." said Ren, sticking his hands in his pockets. The chill made him shiver, and he folded his wings around his body, attempting to block some of the frothy mist that emanated from the forest. He looked at the footsteps, then peered into the woods briefly before turning back to Vaith. "You gonna go and check it out?"

"We're not?" Lizzy replied, her voice louder than her friend's as she slowed down to take a better look at her surroundings. Once she did, however, the Demoness squeaked softly in surprise and squeezed Amrita's hand; detention for Truth or Dare was bad enough! She did not want to get detention again... Mother would not be pleased! However, she could see Jimmy (and DC chasing Jimmy) going deeper into the forest, disappearing into the thick fog and 'forbidden zone'.

"B-But we have to retrieve them!" She pointed at the two runaway Minipets in the distance, a soft whine in her voice; she cannot lose Jimmy! She cannot allow anything bad to happen to the poor thing...

"We'll just go grab them and come back out quickly! Nobody will know!"

The Vetala still didn't care that the Death Charm was out of her sight, and she did still care that Jimmy was out of Lizzy's. Now though, she had a tough choice to make; go into the forest and possibly get detention again, or stay here, not get detention, and hope for the best.

"But Lizzy..." She was about to argue the point, but then she noticed something...which was odd, her noticing things first. "Hey...what's that noise? And those?" A backwards hand moved to point at the foot prints that lead into the forest...and upon tracing it, she realized there were other students here, too. She stood there, pointing at the group. Then, it clicked; there was a group of students here.

Amrita's lips pressed closed tightly, and she shuffled to hide a little bit more behind Lizzy, mildly embarrassed that she hadn't noticed them there before.

She was so worried about Jimmy that it took Amrita pointing out the 'obvious' for her to notice them as well; she recognized some of the students by face, but not really by name... They hadn't gotten the chance to speak after all. However, what were they doing on forbidden grounds? While curious, she didn't know if it would be a good idea to ask; she didn't want to be dragged into something bad... Or worse, get Amrita dragged along.

Truth or Dare was bad enough...

"Should we... Go say hi?" She whispered to the ghoul hiding behind her before eying the students in the distance, trying to be subtle, "We really need to retrieve Jimmy and DC though..."

Calder wasn't for going into the Weeping forest again after the touble he had gotten into through the Truth or Dare game, but that didn't mean he could go near it. The heavy mist and moisture from the forest left plenty of fat mushrooms and other moist-growing plants around, and ones he was frequent and familiar with eating. It also helped that he could, on occasion, find some free range rats either dead or drown in some puddle, but no such luck today. Instead, he had some Gut weeds (only called so for the red flowers on top that looked like bundles of intestines), and a fat, mossy mushroom that was currently being bitten into.

What he heard wasn't the strange noise at first, but of students. He would have thought that everyone was over playing more games in the forest, but apparently not. Usually he'd want to join them, but if this was another game, then he wasn't up for it. Not when he was just recovering from his last detention. Instead, he turned away from them and continued his search for other edibles, wondering if he could find some more mushrooms to stuff in his pockets for a classroom snack. It was then that his ears flickered, and he heard another noise. Like…buzzing? No….more like a long hum over and over.

Calder waved about his head in case there was a mosquito, but there wasn't. Sticking a finger in his fluffy ear to clear it out, he looked about the Weeping Forest into the thick fog and noticed footstep. It seemed some kids really wanted to go in and try another game.

Junko wasn't sure why she was out here. Wait, no..yes she was. The ghoul felt that maybe if she went back to the 'scene of the crime' so to speak that maybe, just maybe, she'd remember something from truth or dare. Yaya had told her there was nothing to worry about but..but she just wanted to know! And She wouldn't tell her anything. Even if it was no big deal, the fact that she wasn't remembering things was extremely unsettling for Junko. She sighed as she walked toward the weeping forest, casting furtive glances all around her for any sign of a professor or Breck or Hellma. No one yet. Good.

...Was that...hooves?

She blinked and glanced back behind her to find what the noise she was hearing was, not even getting time to register that a reigndeer and a...weird...dragony thing were coming right at her! Junko gasped and jumped out of their way, watching them pass by her and to the woods. That was weird...where was that mist coming from? And...what was that noise? Junko's brow furrowed a bit as she slowly walked closer to the forest, tucking her hair behind her ears and trying to hear the noise as best as she could. "What is that...?"

"It's the sound of you not FEEDING ME." She grumbled angrily.

"Shut up."
