"Mother, really, this isn't neces-"
"Isn't necessary my foot. No grandbaby of mine is going to be raised without the essentials. Honestly, I don't see how you get by without them."
"Mother, please, can't we just-"
"Nope. Now come on!"
The spawn sighed in resignation as she was all but dragged along towards the store, the lighted sign proudly stating the name of the establishment: GameStop. Just before arriving there, Azubahiel had delivered news of her pregnancy to her mother, having no idea what-so-ever what can of worms she was opening. Her mother had turned into a flurry of energy; questions and concerns flying like angry hornets. And then, the chaotic thoughts focused on one thing: video games. And that's why 'Zuba found herself being dragged towards the store by her oh-so-enthusiastic mother. Apparently, her selection of video games was not up to par with her mother's standards.
Really, this wasn't necessary. She didn't deserve this special attention! The girl chuckled, shaking her head as she was tugged through the threshold, finding herself pulled towards the closest rack of video games.

"You SURE you don't have it in stock? I freaking pre-ordered the damned game! What do you MEAN you don't have my copy?!" Damon growled, slamming a fist into the counter in front of an incredibly scared-looking teenager. At the sounds of raised voices, the boy was excused to help the two that just entered the store while the manager gave the furious man a cool look. "Damon, seriously, cool your jets. One of the trucks was late with the shipments. You'll get it tomorrow."
Seth sighed as the two conversed above, wishing he could go home. The game store was creepy and had far too many scary pictures. He hated it. Not to mention all the games had controllers a foot above his head so he couldn't exactly play any of the games... Purple eyes followed the teen as he left to go greet the two people who just walked in. One of which had pretty golden head wings and purple hair.

"Alright. My grandbaby is going to need the essentials if they're going to be brought up right. So, I was thinking some Resident Evil, some Bioshock, a couple of the Silent Hill games..." The half elf trailed off, tapping her chin in thought. "Torn between Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Fatal Frame...both of them are really good games." The elf knelt down, rifling through the relatively untouched games at the bottom rack.
'Zuba's eyes widened a little. As much as she loved most of those games...they weren't exactly kid friendly. "Shouldn't we start with something more...basic? A little friendlier?" she suggested quietly, sighing as her mother made her answer clear by her lack of vocal response. She blinked, looking up as she noticed someone heading their way.

Seth paused, hiding shyly behind a display as 'Zuba's gaze turned to him. With a shy little wave, his purple eyes widened as they studied her. "Hi," he muttered softly, and probably nearly unheard with all the ruckus Damon was probably making by arguing with a couple of employees on things. It didn't stop the boy at all from noticing the much older girl's pretty purple hair. Slowly, he broke away and moved a little closer.
"M'Seth. Who're you?" he asked curiously, finally noticing that her stomach was kinda shaped odd. Like in cartoons when people ate too much. "It's loud." And there he was, captain obvious in the making while avoiding the real question he was pondering.

'Zuba paused before a small smile spread across her face. "Hello there." she greeted, her voice soft and friendly as she turned away from her mother to look at the boy. Not that her parent noticed or anything; she was too absorbed in picking out the right video games for her newest grandbaby. It was a hard decision to make, after all; there were so many essential games, each with their own unique lessons to teach! How was one supposed to choose?
The spawn offered the younger boy a smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "My name's Azubahiel....'Zuba for short." she responded, bowing her head once. She then chuckled lightly, nodding. "Yes, it is a bit loud, isn't it?" she replied, glancing over at the noisemakers.

Seth giggled and nodded, glancing over at their guardian's as well. "'Zuba's a pretty name. Why are they making so much noise anyways?" he asked, pouting. He didn't see the point in such games where all there was to do was commit senseless acts of pure violence with a shred of reasoning as to why. They were ultimately way too scary for him so he couldn't care less about them.
"Are all games violent?" he asked, instantly liking this 'Zuba girl. He didn't know why either, just that he did.

"Well, there are plenty of prettier names...Seth is a much better name my opinion," 'Zuba responded, giggling right along with the younger boy. She then paused, tapping her chin as she thought about her answer. "Well, they're enthusiastic over games, I suppose? It's hard to say." To be honest, she was wondering the same thing he was. After all, it wasn't the poor clerk's fault the truck was late...poor fellow.
The smile returned to 'Zuba's face at the boy's next question. "Of course not! They're are plenty of nonviolent games on the shelves....would you like me to show you some of them?" she offered. What a nice little boy; such a little sweetheart!

Seth shrugged, not bothering to argue about pretty names. Opinions were personal thoughts on things so who was he to change them? Sides, it seemed silly to argue about such a thing anyways. "Daddy likes games a lot an' has been waiting for this one for a while I think," he explained, unsure about the reason Damon was so upset over waiting a day or two for a game. Or for him to act so scary about it. But he had the pretty nice lady to protect him!
Or at least keep him distracted. "Really?! Yah!" Seth nearly bounced with excitement. He never realized there was such a thing as nonviolent video games. All the ones Ily and Damon played were filled with killing and everything related to it. After seeing brief glimpses of them, and realizing if it had an R or M on the back he probably shouldn't touch it, the naga stopped being in the room altogether when they played. So the idea of such a game was an absolute miracle.

The young woman paused, thinking a moment. "That could be why. It can be very disappointing when something you've been waiting for gets delayed even longer." she reasoned, offering a smile. Mind you, she didn't agree with the man's reaction to said disappointment, but who was she to judge? People could be so odd sometimes...
The boy's enthusiasm drew out a light tinkling of laughter from the mother-to-be. She moved along the shelves, motioning the boy to follow as her eyes scanned the titles, searching. "Where is it...where is... here it is." 'Zuba smiled as she plucked the game off of the shelf, holding it out to the younger boy to inspect. "It's called Tetris. It's an old-school puzzle game. The gameplay is pretty simple, but pretty fun." Eyes went back to the shelves, looking again. "Have you ever heard of Pac-Man?"

Seth nodded, knowing that he, too, disliked delays in things but generally took it in stride. Why get upset when it only came a little while later? Besides, getting upset wasted valuable energy and time when he could nap or sunbathe. As he took the game, his lilac eyes widened. It... it was like a dream come true. "This... I love it!" he gasped, gently hugging the box to his chest. No blood, gore, violence, weapons, shooting, loud noises... Just a simple puzzle game.
"Pac-Man? Nu-uh. Never heard o' it. Whassit?" the naga asked, wondering if it was just as awesome as this Tetris game he had yet to play. Sure Damon would probably scoff at the games, but he didn't care. They looked fun and not scary in the slightest!

'Zuba's eyes widened slightly at the boy's enthusiastic reaction. Slowly, a small giggle bubbled up, slowly growing into a happy, sunshiney laugh. “I'm glad you like it, Seth.” she said, her tone glowing. The boy's enthusiasm was infectious; she couldn't seem to get herself to stop smiling. Not that she'd want to stop, mind you.
The young woman knelt down, wincing as back popped in protest to the movement. Her eyes scanned the bottom shelf, narrowed in determination as she hunted. The predator could sense her prey close by, hidden among it's companions. Then, her sight locked on the hunted. Quick as a viper, her hand shot out, enclosing and ensnaring the game. A satisfied smile worked it's way onto her face, and she stood back up, trying to ignore her back as it cracked it's complaints. “Here it is: Pac Man. It's a maze game. You eat the little dots and food when it shows up, and you avoid the ghosts. Sometimes, you eat the ghosts too.” she explained, sure the boy would like this one too.

((I swear I'm gonna get cavities from that boy. XD))
Seth stared at the new game in wonder, mouth opening slightly as he gazed at it, flipping it over to the back to look at the other pictures and flipping it back again. Slowly, a happy grin worked it's way onto his face before both games were hugged to his chest happily. Now he had not one, but TWO games that were his! HIS GAMES that Ily and Damon and Damon's weird friends couldn't play! Games without blood and cursing and loud noises!
Giggling, Seth wrapped his arms happily around 'Zuba's leg. "T'ank yew 'Zuba! These games are gonna be fun!" he giggled, wriggling happily. Damon just HAD to buy them now! He HAD to! And if he didn't... Ignoring the sad thought, Seth reached up to try and wind his hand into 'Zuba's. "More games?" he asked, grinning widely in excitement while his other hand tightly held the other games he hoped to bribe his father into buying.
