Mys'ketay stalked quietly and slowly behind a antelope, waiting for the right opprotunity to strike. As soon as she saw the right opprotunity she made a fatal mistake. She stepped on a twig causing the antelope to run. Mys'ketay was to tired and to weak to continue to chase after them. Maybe she would get lucky and find a meerkat running around. She was beginning to get desperate. She hadn't eaten in a couple days, so her stomach felt like a hole. Mys'ketay's father had never taught her how to hunt or really survive. He had kept her as a slave in his den her hole life. So when she was finally old enough to run away she didn't know how to survive. Mys'ketay often wondered what her life would be like if she returned to her father. How bad would the punishment be? Would he be alive? Would he even allow her back? The questions circled her head on a daily basis. She needed to find someone to teach her how to hunt. Maybe she should try to join a pride? A sigh escaped from her lips. Why would a pride take in a lioness that couldn't hunt?

Baridi Mokovu had been stalking the antelope for a while. He was about ready to make his attack when a twig snapped somewhere and sent them in a running frenzy. He hissed and gave chase anyways after them. His eyes targeted a younger gazelle that limped every few strides. He took after that one and started to separate it from the herd, finally it was his. He made a final leap and landed on it's back making the gazelle collapse under his weight. He gave a final blow to the throat to end it's life.
He held it's neck in his jaw till he was certain every last breath of life had left it's body. He finally sat up and started to drag it away to a clearing beside a rock. He started to remove the skin back to reveal the best part. He took a big chunk off and started to work away at that. The blood was warm as it went down his throat and the flesh soft as he chewed it. He was proud of this catch.

Mys'ketay watched a lion chase after the herd of antelope that she had scared away with awe. He had brought down a young limping antelope with no problem and dragged it off. She heard her stomach grumble with hunger as the smell of the meat hit her nostrils. Maybe he would allow her to have a small peice of meat? Mys'ketay felt horrible having to attempt to rely on someone else for food, but she needed to eat to survive. She stalked up quietly behind the lion, moving slowly to his side, but not close enough for him to attack her. Mys'ketay stood watching the male for a moment before she spoke a word to him. She was not sure what to say. But she decided to go straight for the kill... So to speak. "I know this is rather odd to ask... But I have no idea how to hunt, and I'm growing quite weak. May I be able to steal a small piece of meat from you?" She asked waiting for him to say no.

Mokovu tore off a leg and started to clean it to the bone. His own stomach was starving, he had been living on small things and finally he got a good meal. He ate and ripped away till finally he heard something, a voice. He looked up to see this beautiful young lioness. Usually any lion eating would become aggressive and hostile, but Mokovu was not like that. He listened to her as she spoke and was shocked at her words. She seemed old enough that she should be able to hunt, but he sensed only truth in her words. He felt bad and looked down at his meal, tons was left and he was getting full. He pushed it towards her before speaking, letting her know he would share. He backed up a little to make her feel comfortable, so she knew he would not attack. "Of course, I will share a meal with you anyday"He said with a friendly smile, reassuring her that it was okay with him.
Mokovu unlike the place he came from was never cold enough to turn down help to someone who needed it.

Mys'ketay smiled and happily began to knaw at the hunk of meat that was pushed in front of her. "Thank you!" She said with her mouth full. She could feel her cheecks becoming flushed as she did so, but she couldn't help but forget her manners. After she had devored every last morsel of meat on the animal she smiled up to the male lion. "That was delicious... Thank you for sharing with me." Mys'ketay said as she began to lick her paws. "I don't doubt that you won't hurt. You shared your meal with me." She said happily. For a few moments she wondered how this male could do something so kind and selfless. It didn't make sense to her since all of the males she had ever encountered that were lions only proved to be just like her father. "I don't know how to thank you enough." She said as she stood up and stretched, right before she crept closer to him.

Mokovu nodded his head and smiled. She seemed starved the way she ate at the meat, he was happy to have shared with her."Your very welcome"He said as he too ate some of his hunt. He finished his share and waited for her, she finished shortly behind him."Indeed you have no worries about me being a threat. Besides I enjoy company too much to chase them off" He said with a slight chuckle as he looked at the bones that laid in front of them. He hadn't realized he was so hungry till he started eating, he almost felt like he was the one who was starving too. As she scooted closer and spoke it made Mokovu's heart beat. She was quite a beautiful lioness and he shyly looked down as he spoke. "Really it was no problem at all, I could not have eaten it all by myself anyways. I personally hate wasting too"He said as he tilted his head to quickly to glance at her before looking away.

She smiled and nodded. "Well thank you very much for sharing. It was quite delicious." Mys'ketay said, thankful that he had shared his meal with her. "You seem to be a good hunter... And I am not able to hunt at all..." She said somewhat boldly. "I was just entertaining the idea of maybe you could teach me how to hunt?" Mys'ketay asked curiously. "Of course I would be willing to do whatever you asked of me." Her eyes stared into his with questioning.
She felt bold and unafraid of this male, for a reason she could not comprehend. Of course this was something new to her. She was afraid of most if not all male lions. However, if it was a male of another species or a male cub she was perfectly fine. This was also something that confused her. Was it because cubs were so tiny? Or was it because she had percieved them to be better then their counterparts?

Mokovu liked her, she was so friendly and pleasant to be around. He listened as she complimented his hunting skills and asked for help. He was eager to reply to her."I would love to help you learn to hunt"He said happily with a delightful smile. He was a bit shocked she did not know how to being her age but he did not judge nor ask."We could go for a hunt as soon as your ready too" He said as he looked at her. They had just met but already they were both so comfortable with each other. Mokovu was always willing to help someone it made him feel good inside knowing he had helped. This was a great opportunity for him to teach and a great experience for her
He looked at her again with a kind smile, his eyes gentle. He started to pre think how he would come about teaching her. He knew there was a herd near by, but they would be on alert after he had already attacked one. Perhaps he could try his luck on another herd's scent. however that could take a few days, he had the time but he wondered if she did.

Mys'ketay smiled at Mokovu happily. She was so greatful as well as thankful that someone could be so wonderfully nice to her. Especially a male. "Thank you again.... You can not begin to understand how thankful I am for your kindness." She said happily. "And I am ready at any time. I do not have much to do..." Mys'ketay said sheepishly. "I'm just wandering, looking for a place to call home or at least someplace I can stay free from problems." Mys'ketay grinned. "What about you? Why are you this far out?" She asked curiously, wanting to get to know him better. She needed to know more about this male so that she could one day properly thank him for his kindness to her.

Mokovu nodded his head at her thanks, he was more then happy to help her. He sensed something more meaningful in her words however, he was good at observing and understanding others as well as judging."Well your quite very welcome"He said happily with a delightful smile. He was happy she was not in a rush, it made this easier for both of them. Perfection in the technique is what made hunters skilled and so powerful in their hunts. As she spoke he wondered what she meant by problems. Many lions would not have picked up on it but Mokovu was fast. He was curious to know but he would wait till they got closer and more acquainted."I too was wandering for many suns but I have this urge in my heart to head back to the home I faintly remember, there is something waiting there for me I know it. I have to go see what though.." His voice trailed off as he looked out. The memory of cold win and humidity in one place, snow that melts over the steaming water, it was home. He could not help but wish he had gone back sooner, who knows if they were there still or would even accept them.

"I'm sure they will be accepting of you." She replied with a smile. "You are a very kind male. Like none other I have met before now." She said truthfully. As she thought about her home she could feel her heart swell with both anger and sadness. She would never return, no matter what happened to her she would not allow herself to run to him for help. Mys'ketay found herself sending silent prayers to the sky in hopes that a god would listen and grant her wish. She knew it was bad to wish someone dead or lost forever, however, he was a bad lion who deserved whatever bad thing happened to him. Which she hoped he had been plagued by terrible things since she had left.

He listened to her soft spoken words with such compassion and kindness. It made him think that she had yet to meet a kind male like himself, mokovu could almost not bare the thought. He turned his gentle eyes on her as she she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. He could see many emotions in her eyes and could only relate the same way."Perhaps your right..."He said breaking the silence and trying to bring her back to now, to the peaceful friendly conversation. He didn't want to stir past memories for Mokovu himself had some of his own. "...But then again I do not know if they are still there or at least the ones who I loved are..." He looked over his shoulder to the mountains, the distant north with such faint memories. He hoped he could once again call it home. He had once thought he found his home when he met Her but he was wrong. He could not live with her pride, he did not belong and so he left. He still remembers taking one last look at her as she cried as he left. But he could not become like her a prisoner in her own home. He wanted to be free.

Mys'ketay looked somberly at Mokovu as he talked, noticing he was getting bogged down by his own painful memories too. No, he was to kind to suffer. Mys'ketay found herself perplexed by her own emotions, betraying her own rules on interacting with males could lead to being led back to the same past she had escaped. But she didn't want him to suffer anymore. All she wanted to do was to take away his pain, even if only for a little while. Quickly she made her choice. She gently walked closer to him and nuzzled lightly against his cheek. "You should not be afraid." She said with kind eyes. "Someday you will find the home you are meant to belong to. Even if it is a long ways away from now." Mys'ketay said, nuzzling him lightly once more.
