His head was fuzzy, filled with bits and pieces. Always pieces, never the whole truth. It was dizzying, made worse by his lack of sleep over the passing days. Had it been days? It seemed everything was beginning to blend together. The landscape looked the same as it had the day before, and the day before that. It seemed as if he were moving in circles. Maybe this was all their was, this land and his home. That didn't make sense though, if all there was was more of this where were his fellow males to find their banu? He hadn't seen anyone since that female. His mind was drifting away from him, he realized. To images of females he had never seen, places he had never been. At least it was more defined than simply color now. Still, it was nauseating, though it didn't seem to bother him as much when he was tired.

Fenja was walking at a steady pace, tired paws moving more out of habit than an exact purpose. The young adult was cautious by nature and often asked the occasional friendly rogue about each area she passed by. This time she’d been warned about the proximity to a pride that she most certainly would like to avoid so Fenja was in a bit of a hurry to leave these lands behind. Which was a shame, really, as her surrounding were rather pretty and inviting. It was when she was done taking one final glance over her shoulder that Fenja finally noticed the lone shape not too far from where she stood. A brown lion, young by the size of his mane, was walking in her direction. She could tell he hadn’t noticed her yet but judging by the way the sunlight was hitting her coat, it wouldn’t be long until he did. Fenja stood tall with her head held high, a small effort to appear mildly imposing to the young stranger.

She was a vision. She had to be. Merely a figment of his mind's eye. The lioness before him stood starkly outlined by the noonday sun, a vision with starlit eyes and glimmering pelt. "Goddess," he mouthed, stumbling toward her. She might know his father. He would have liked to go home right now. He couldn't though. He sped up, staring at her. "Goddess help me, I've been lost for days," he begged, his mind conjuring ideas of luxury and peace.

“Goddess…?” spoken in any other way it might’ve sounded like a witty pick-up line but the honesty and weariness in the young male’s eyes was unmistakable and Fenja refrained for pulling a trick on the brown lion even though she certainly felt tempted. For all she knew, the golden-eyed boy came from a pride where they called every female “goddess”.
“I know that Gods don’t usually show themselves to mortals but you’re quite mistaken, child.” She had a playful smile, enough proof that she found him more adorable than a potential threat and she used the word “child” with a slightly condescending tone. She wasn’t old enough to go around using that word on most lions but the difference in age - and knowledge, she immediately assumed - made the bright lioness feel just a little bit smug. “I’m just a normal girl, name’s Fenja… but maybe I can help you. Where do you want to go?”
