Syem was nervous. He was well aware, at this point in his life, that his mate was angry at him for the attention that he gave to his family, adopted or not. Despite the fact that his own selfless nature couldn't understand prioritizing one part of his family over another part of it, he could understand his lovely mate wanting him to spend more time with her. As such, he was going to do whatever he could to make her feel wanted. After all, she was the most important thing in his world, and now that his children were grown and his grandchildren as well, he had nothing to take his attention off of her again.
He'd worked for days in a sort of half-clearing in the forest, gathering mosses and soft leaves to make a wide, comfortable next for the both of them. He'd spend weeks before that carefully digging up vines and different types of ivy to string through the trees, make the area romantic. He built a canopy of large, wide leaves on top to keep out the snow and slept in it often in the hopes of his minimal body heat helping to warm it. After that, he did what he could to get more clear leaves and get rid of the foliage atop the little nest, trying to make the heat amplify and make the small home warmer.
Finally, after all of that work, he dug through the forest and found many different kinds of beautiful pink flowers with the brightest of green leaves, retrieving them and putting them together in a bouquet. Finally, he had everything prepared, his long hair braided down the back of his neck and tied with a piece of twine. With that, he set off to where he was almost sure Wateni would be, a little nervous that bad luck would end up with her suddenly vanishing off the face of the earth.
