Quest Rewards: (Please note: This entire system is under review by staff and may change in the near future - 01/16/11 - updated 02/08/11- EDIT 7/18/11 STILL under review)
At the end of each quest the person who set up the quest will discuss with staff appropriate loot to give out. Loot should be from tier 1 unless approved otherwise [loot from tier 2 may be thrown in with approval from staff]. The quest originator will review all the enemies killed and decide what weapons and armor the party gets from their fallen foes. The party will either roll or pass to choose who gets what and what no one wants. In most cases the majority of the loot will be thrown out but weapons and armor used by bosses, powerful foes, leaders, etc can be quite valuable.
As I said earlier, different party members will either pass (saying "I don't want that") on an item or they will say that they want it. If no one else says they want it then that person gets that piece of loot. However if two or more people want the same piece of loot they will roll two 6 sided dice to decide who gets it. Highest roll obviously wins. If one or more people roll the dice and are waiting on a person/people to roll, they can wait for four days. If after four days certain people/person have/has not rolled then they will be cut out of the contest for the loot.
Loot will be reviewed in character after the last portion of the quest is completed. That means you can't say "Well your Khajiit hardly ever posted!" Rather you would say "You hardly ever had my back in any of our fights with those bandits! Why should you get the shield?!"
The reward system still needs to be finely tuned but this is how rewards are currently working as of 11/11/11. Whoever creates the quest will create a list of loot when they are creating the quest and send the entire thing to the captain to be approved. Though that IS preferable, it is entirely possible to wait until the end of the quest before sending a list of loot and rewards to be approved by the captain. Under no circumstances should loot or rewards be handed out without approval from the captain and/or staff. Rewards/Loot still need to be from the appropriate tier. The main idea is that everyone gets at least one super cool item (example, ring of resist frost, or boots of minor shield) and then perhaps a few bottles of potions and other misc if desired. This can potentially change based on the quest, and member activity ect. Obviously someone who joins a quest and then leaves midway will not receive any loot or rewards, ALTHOUGH depending on circumstances they may qualify for some experience. Any questions about this ask the captain or crew.
[Rewards may also vary depending on not just enemies killed but activity and post quality in some situations,]
