Hollows become hollows by tying themselves to something in the world. : revenge, love, hatred, a favorite place, a favorite person, the desire to protect something, the desire to destroy it. Over time the things they want to protect/destroy forget about them, and their emotions and obsessions are twisted into hunger and hurt at being forgotten... or the thing they were trying to protect gets desecrated and destroyed and they gain hatred for those who helped, or failed to prevent this. Their loved one's or anyone associated with their bond to the earth becomes their first meal... this gets them started eating souls. Then, after all they care about is gone, they need something more. And then something more than that, as they try and consume more and more vibrant souls. This continues until the only thing more vibrant than their last meal are other hollows who have hundreds of souls inside them... the first one of these who is weak enough to be eaten opens the road to becoming menos... This is a generality of course. There are deviations, but if they had had nothing to stay for, they would have passed on and became pluses in shinigami land. ))

For being a newborn hollow, Balta retains a majority of her human mind, at the cost of sheer power. More sentient and aware of danger than other equally new hollowkin. However, this does make her more arrogant.
With that knowledge in hand, to find a balance...some stability is what Balta seeks. A ship in a storm looking for a safe port, as an example. Just some facts, or someplace that she could establish as "safe". Like a hormonal teenager, sometimes you can reason with Balta, and sometimes it's just like you might as well put up your guard. As a hollow being though, most of this is buried, and all that one could see is the animalistic behavior of a predator that is just a tad more cautious than the average hollow.

A somewhat lanky hollow, obvious from the height and weight statistics alone. Despite this, Balta is well in shape, able to outperform anything a human might exhibit doing.
HAIR
Shin length, black, hime-cut style. It is obviously well cared for, though it somehow smells of blood.
FACE
Hidden behind the hollow mask that resembles a Japanese kabuto face-mask, her actual face is well-balanced and non-extremist. Everything is in perfect proportions. The only notable flaw is that Balta is noted to have are dark rings under her eyes, and an intensive stare. Somewhat akin to "having bags under one's eyes".
SKIN
Pale, and in current form, is gray.
EYES
Hidden behind a mask that looks like a twisted form of a mourning mask of tragedy (see comedy and tragedy mask style). The eyes do not shine through, indicating it is a rather thick mask. Behind the mask, Balta's eyes are a dull purple-gray, and are of an intense, hard stare.

PAST
During the last known attack on the seireitei, there was an immensely powerful arrancar, far surpassing any being in the known universe, the embodiment of six of the seven deadly sins, as their title. Legendary for power, a veteran of wars throughout the past. Yet for all this power, this experience, this arrancar was killed in battle, the only one to die, in fact. Some believed that these experiences had a mental traumatizing experience, and that this warrior simply wanted to die, that they were ready to move on, perhaps go to their ultimate fate, or if the coin landed in favor, perhaps be reborn. In any the case, once this warrior died, it is said that the last words to be uttered were, "Ash to ash, dust to dust. See the crown fall, the tower collapse. All shall fall into ruin by my death. It is my death that shall be your undoing. The warrior is drawn and quartered, killed in an unfitting way. Yet it shall be these quartered body parts, these chunks of gore that will see that I do not go alone...that I merely go first..." With that, the warrior disintegrated into ash, leaving behind only the broken claymore that was their weapon. It was a weapon of incredible power, even in its broken state. However, to the only arrancar whom had heard the words, their meaning was lost, though that arrancar would later steal and disappear with that claymore...and the warrior was lost to the pages of history.
This was only further solidified with the great plague that happened not even a year later, and any whom had been a part of that battle perished. From an outside perspective, one would think that that was the warrior's words, their prophecy coming true. The time of reckoning has yet to arrive though, though it has begun. Early in the year 2162, four small comets mysteriously managed to breach the earth's atmosphere, and impact successfully in spots across the world. One would land in Germany's home land, near the town of Rostock. A second would land in the heart of Africa, in the Congo. A third impacted in the ocean just offshore from Midway Island, and the fourth would strike down in the capital of Japan, Tokyo. It is this fourth one where Balta's story begins. Each of the four bore a mark on their foreheads, but otherwise when they stumbled away, they were naught but humans. Humans with very short lifespans, as within a year, they were all dead, only living long enough to witness particular aspects of human life where they had landed, to absorb painful memories.
Balta was the last to die, being shot to death in an underground subway station, and the body disposed of in a barrel full of high concentrate hydrochloric acid, which was there and waiting to be transported out to be used to clean tires in an industrial section of town. However, their actions were rushed to the point where the body didn't fit all the way in, leaving her left hand reaching upward in a grabbing motion. As the body decayed, Balta's soul remained bound to it as it was transported and later stored in a stack in a safe storage location. Months passed, and the new year rang in. Midway through the month of February, Balta's incubation and deterioration into a hollow was complete. The factory at which her corpse had been unknowingly taken to was the setting ground for her emergence. It is now the present, and while there have been a death or two at the factory, it is nothing that the human populace would consider to be highly unnatural.
Her hunger grows, etching away at the shrouds of sanity that keep her in check. The deaths thus far were displays of submission to the need to feed, to soothe the ache where her heart used to be. Her methods were unusual, as she deviated from the standard hollow preference to attack pluses, in favor of attacking living human beings, and using the soul-body separation technique all hollows have, to eat and then dispose of the body through...accidents. For a hollow, creating accidents at a workplace environment is far too easy. Still, Balta mourned the weakness she had, and cursed her fate to become this....less than human self. Everyone adored a beautiful human, and while she knew herself to have been one at one point in time, that was not now. She was a monster, and her envy of that graceful form being taken for granted has begun to set sparks off towards a powder keg of pent-up frustrations, the need to eat human souls, and thinly veiled over only by her mind telling her that what she had done was wrong. That thinly veiled conscience will not last long....

Soul-Body Separation ~~> Two middle class Hollow, Shrieker and Acidwire, have been shown using this ability, though presumably all Hollows have the ability. This technique allows a Hollow to forcibly extract a living spirit from his/her body. It is usually not used because Hollows tend to go after Pluses, who have no physical or living body to speak of.
Acidic Touch ~~> Many Hollows, like Shrieker and Acidwire, have displayed this ability, although Rukia implies that all Hollows possess this power. When a Hollow grabs a Human with their hands, the spot where the person was grabbed is shown to get burned as if acid were poured onto it. This was shown when Orihime was grabbed in the leg, and on the wound on Chad's back. These wounds seem to allow the Hollow's reiatsu to seep into the person, causing great pain to the victim. The wounds can heal if given enough time though, and it is unknown if this ability works on Shinigami or other spiritually powerful beings. {{In this guild, it does}}.
In Balta's case, her Acidic Touch is both very potent, and enhanced. In current base hollow form, this touch not only leaves the stinging burning pain, but starts eating away at the area. This hints at Balta's true and yet unrevealed ability. The wounds caused by her Acid Touch usually will require medical treatment to effectively heal.

As a human Akira was as he is now. The Lone Wolf. Back in his years in primary school, he was nicknamed 'wolfy' by his peers, almost as an insult to his first name, his feral hair and sharp canines. He didn't care though, they were all trash to him. He would often get into fights because of how he ignore the taunts by the bullies of the school, and end up retaliating by beating the living crap out of them. Leading him further into isolation. It was when he started ignoring those who lived around him, he began noticing the spirts that walked among the living.
Akira would eventually move on to high school but ended up with the same situation. He started skipping school to avoid the annoyance of the daily harrassment but it soon led to his parents being brought in. They ignored his reasons for doing it, and soon became stricter on his life. This led him into a downward spiral to the point where he would stop speaking to everyone, even his own parents. His spiritual perception increased to the point where spirits were no longer blurs to him but to the point where he could hear, see and touch them clearly. A secret he kept to himself, he had enough problems he didn't need people kowing he saw ghost as well.
Akira graduated with high grades, ranking in the top five of his class. Following his parents wishes he enrolled into a college, and poker faced his way to his junior year. There was an uproar in the school, while he was studying in the library. A beast rampaged through out the campus of his college. Akira tried to fend the beast off but, nothing he did effected it. It was nothing of this world and when he realized this, was when the beast struck him down. Laying there, in a bloody mess, he could feel his life slipping and his soul split from his body. The soul chain broken, he abandoned his body, rushed to solitude. It would be in the next few days that his soul chain would start to corrode, and his hollowfication start.
In the first month of him becoming a hollow Akira tried to ignore the hunger he felt, but the pain and sorrow of his life before death overcame him. He came to his parents home and devoured them. He went to the schools he attended and devoured his teachers and the faculty he interacted with. Before finally visiting each person who ever harrassed him and ate their souls as well.

This was shown when Orihime was grabbed in the leg, and on the wound on Chad's back. These wounds seem to allow the Hollow's reiatsu to seep into the person, causing great pain to the victim. The wounds can heal if given enough time though, and it is unknown if this ability works on Shinigami or other spiritually powerful beings. {{In this guild, it does}}.

Kara is a sorrow filled hollow, as if lost something very dear to her. She isnt afraid to take things that she wants from another hollow and often gets away with it because of how she plans out her escape. She is very methodical, and uses her wit to constant start something with others in order to make them lose it and give in to her.
She sees other hollows as nothing but useless pawns, waiting to be used by her. But she sees herself as incomplete and is always looking for a way to fill that lost feeling. She will do anything to fill that empty feeling. Though she hardly ever loses her temper, when she does she makes anyone who gets in her way regret it and takes it out on them until she cools off.

Kara had grown up a well, practically perfect life. She was class president in high school 3 years running. She had some of the best grades in her class. She had many friends and everyone loved being around her because she had been so friendly and well liked. Her parents had been very well off in the wealth department and had given her just about anything she wanted, Though she had her own job to support herself. She had even been engaged to the son of a very wealthy business man who was going to inherit one of Japan's top companies when he got done with college. To say the least, her life was set.
In college, she finally decided to take up a community played sport for fun. She really didnt even need to go to college in the first place, her life was already perfect in itself, but she went for the fun of it, As she told all her friends. One evening she had been walking home after a late practice when a car sped out of no where and hit her. It wasnt until she woke up in the hospital that she realized what was going on... She stood up and looked down to find her body hooked up to several machines in order to stay alive...
At this point she had screaming for someone to help her, to get her off those machines as she was just fine. No one heard her, of course. The hospital was rather poor and was going to be forced to close a couple weeks after she was emitted. She was sent for a trip after that.
The day before the hospital was officially closed her fiancee came in with another woman and began to make out so rudly right in her presence. Her spirit was forced to watch the entire thing.... When the doctor came in and asked her fiancee what he wanted to do about her, possibly transfer her to another hospital, he played it off as if he were heart broken and told the doctor he wouldnt be able to afford keeping her alive and it would be better is he just pulled the plug right now, even though the doctor told him she had an 89% chance at living... Her fiancee pulled the plug as the doctor left and smirked down at him and brought his hooker of a girlfriend close too and admitted everything to her... That he had hit her with his car, all because he didnt want to marry her. His girlfriend looked pretty drugged up on something and As Kara stood over her dead body crying, so betrayed and heartbroken that she didnt know what to do, she made eye contact with the hooker woman, and for a breif second she swore she thought she saw the woman make eye contact with her and flinch, before the hooker was dragged out of the room for another make out session in the hallway and then left with Kara's fiancee, no, EX fiancee.
Kara remained in that broken down old hospital for a long time before the chains connected to her chest completely disappeared and she soon found herself turned into a " monster". Finally freed from that hospital prison she went to the house she used to live in with her parents. They were sleeping soundly in thier beds, a brand new baby cribe at the end of thier bed. This startled her and she quickly looked in and saw the beautiful baby girl... the child they had replaced her with... After that, something snapped in her and she hunted down her ex fiancee, he was to blame for all of this. He was now the owner of his father's business and married to the hooker he had brought to her room that day.
He was just getting home from a late night at " work" ( he was cheating on the hooker now) and was trying to sneak drunkenly into bed neck to her. Kara killed him swiftly and devoured his souls ravenously. The old hooker woke up and saw the bloody mess and then Kara's new form and fell to the floor and to her knees whimpering, Kara walked over and stood near the woman, preparing to strike her down as well, before the woman spoke. " I-Is that you? Y-you were the woman from the h-hospital that many days ago. Oh please dont kill me" She begged, tears running Down her cheeks as she begged Kara's mercy... Kara lowered her paw, but then picked it up and swiftly killed her anyways, devouring her soul as well.
As the months past, she began to lose her memories of being human, bit by bit until most of them were gone. Although, what remained was the forever painful void that she had been forced to feel at that time, which also kept her personality in tact, or atleast her ability to think properly and methodically, though she remains a stone cold killer.

I hope you realize that despite what you say, your "immunity to poisons" will not make you immune or protected against A-SS ranked poison attacks.
