It had been floating around her room for a while now, staying high in the corner to avoid the pets below. Granted, one of the 'pets below' had wings, but said pet seemed more interested in Amrita's affection than it did chasing down and tormenting the other pets. But every time she saw it she thought of Lucien, and every time she thought of Lucien she was torn between this unexplained feeling of dread...and this need to see him again. He happened to be her friend, and she hadn't seen this friend since...well since Truth or Dare, really! But that didn't count, as it was one on one.
Today, she was going to fix that!
The yellow drifter was coaxed down from the ceiling for a fear candy, and once it was down she tied a string around one of it's drooping arms. There, now it couldn't fly away! ...Hopefully it couldn't fly her away either, she thought with a shudder. It took a great deal of skill but the Vetala left her dormroom without Death Charm stalking her, and she made her way happily down to the ghost dorms; MAYOR were these things creepy!
When she got there...she didn't know which room was his. So, with her amazing problem solving skills, she decided to wander the floors until she found him. It might take a while, but...well, hopefully it wouldn't. Luck was clearly on her side today though, as she found a door labeled 'Lucien'. Hoping it was his, she gave it a knock.
The drifter drifted up higher, bouncing lightly along the ceiling and out of sight from the door.

Lucien had been napping up near the ceiling of his room when he heard a knock echo through the room. He wasn't sure where it was from but it snapped him out of his pleasant dream about flying in the sky with a bird at his side. His eyelids slowly lifted, and an unpleasant expression spread over the air spirit's face. Apparently he woke up on the wrong side of the cloud this morning. He rolled over, and looked around the empty room. He realized the knock was coming from the door as he noted the piles of mini pets sleeping in the corners of his room in his otherwise nearly empty room.
As he floated down from the ceiling and towards the door, he wondered just what was making the noise. The thought that it could be a person, or even a friend alluded the air spirit. He waited at the door for a moment as he thought about this before he finally pulled open the door. He didn't say hello. He didn't say any long, winded sentence. All the air spirit could make out was 'oh' when he seen that it was his little ghoulfriend Amrita. It seemed to take forever, but Lucien finally made a tangible sentence.
"Amrita! What are you doing here?"

The short little Vetala stared up at the Air Sylph, and worry started to set in. Why wasn't he responding to her?! Why did he look so...unhappy? It was mild, but it was there. The longer there was silence between them the more she started to fidget; it started with her toes curling and somewhat crossing behind her, and quickly moved to her backward hands.
She heaved a sigh when he finally said something.
"I...I came to, uhm, visit! I'm sorry, I can go if you want!" She must have done something wrong. There was no other explanation! Maybe...maybe she said something last time, or...or maybe something happened at Christmas! Whatever the reason, it had to have been her fault. What was left of her lips pressed into an unhappily thin line, and when she looked down she spotted the end of the string in her hands which reminded her of yet another reason she was here.
"A-and, uhm, I got you this!" She said, holding out the end for him to take; above them the shiny yellow Drifter bobbed to bounce lazily along the top of the door frame.

Lucien had been shocked over anything else. He had just woken up, on the wrong side of the cloud at that. He didn't expect to find anyone at his door. He had never had anyone just stop by his dorm room before, and he certainly hadn't expected the little ghoul of all creatures to be the one to come a knocking. He couldn't imagine that she walked all the way here on her own feet. Especially her feet.
He seemed to just stare at her as she worried she had upset him before his eyes slowly found their way following her hands and then to the string-like object she had been holding. For a moment he thought he was outside, and something round and bright was suddenly shining down upon him. How strange is this? Then he realized, it was a Drifter! A cloud! He stared at it some more, even adjusting his goggles as if it would suddenly disappear if he looked at it through them.
It didn't disappear, of course, and soon the air spirit found his hand reaching to Amrita's. It lazily brushed against her hand until it managed to grasp the end of the drifter and then his hand only lingered on top of hers. It seemed he was very lazy this morning and really hadn't wanted to get off his cloud. Her hand made a lovely resting spot.
"For me," he whispered, eyes looking from the Drifter to Amrita. "Thank you."

Once she had announced the gift, Amrita had stared up at him with wide eyes, just pleading him to say something. Anything. He had to! Oh jack, he couldn't not say anything to her! She didn't even know what she had done! She was working herself up into a tizzy and was seriously contemplating leaving when she realized that he was moving.
Not only moving, but touching her hand.
Her mouth shut instantly and she found herself blushing darkly; not because of the usually romantic implications such a touch brought about, but simply because he was touching her. She wasn't used to people touching her. It was awkward; luckily she didn't understand the whole romance thing to get that load of nonsense stuck in her head.
"U-uhm! Y-Yes. For you. I thought...you might like it." She squeaked out, dropping her gaze to the floor. "You're...Welcome."
