"And... here you go, ma'am! That will be five dollars, please." Fitzroy smiled as he tore the sketch off of his art pad and handed it to the attractive college girl sitting before him, gratefully taking the bill in return. Suggested to him by a friend, this semi-job was quickly paying more than he had thought possible; by charging five dollars a head for black-and-white sketches and eight for color, he had almost sixty dollars in his wallet. Plus it gave him practice drawing real people, as opposed to comic characters, and a chance to meet amusing strangers. He mentally reminded himself to buy Thomas a hot dog for his good thinking. He waved as the girl walked off, calling after her. "And don't worry; I'm sure your dad will come around! Good luck!"

A smile followed those attractive hips moving onward, but he quickly went back to business. Picking up his pad, he started working on the detailed portrait of Robert he'd been working on between jobs, copying a photo of him all greased up at school. As he did so, Fitzroy's merry voice rang out around the plaza. "Portraits! Draw your portrait! Five dollars black-and-white, eight dollars color! Help out a starving artist and get a cool gift for family and friends! Portraits here!"

The loud calls for art were what drew Ilyrosa in. Nobody in her small little family could produce anything worth calling art, so the fact that anybody could draw and were offering it for cheap amounts was intriguing. It wasn't surprising either, since she had no patience for it, Seth was too young and Damon was just simply lazy and had the skills of a four year old.

Then again, she had never really asked him to do an actual picture... "So you're the one advertising art. And here I was thinking I was imagining things. Can you draw from a picture?" Ily asked the teen curiously, standing a couple feet in front of Fitzroy with her arms crossed across her chest. Perhaps it wasn't such a smart idea to wear her clubbing clothes as she walked around town now that she thought about it...

Fitzroy looked up from his drawing when he heard someone else approach him, and he seemed to brighten up at the sight of the young woman. In stark contrast to her misgivings about her clothes, the teenager was very appreciative of them and their scantiness. He couldn't help giving her a once-over with his eyes as she spoke, though he tried to make it quick. He wasn't actually considering trying to get anywhere with her; he'd given this treatment to every fairly attractive girl that had crossed his path today. He was just... appreciating her physical aesthetics. Or so he justified it to himself.

At her question, he smiled and gestured to his current project. "That I can, ma'am. In fact, I'm doing so right now. I could do the same for you, if you want." He placed his picture of Robert aside and turned to a new page in his artbook. "Whaddya have?"

Ilyrosa grinned happily, a slight blush tinting her features as she thought of what she was going to do. "I might get two, to be honest but I want a sketch of... Him," she replied as the picture was held out. It was of pretty poor quality, being from a photo booth in a mall and relatively last minute, but Ily loved it all the same. This was mostly due to how the pre-teen in the picture was completely unprepared for it and had a pretty adorable look on his face.

As Fitzroy took the picture from her, the teen went searching for where she happened to stash her money. She wasn't a big fan of purses, as shown by her lack of one and any identifiable pocket. Magically finding it and counting out sixteen dollars, then rest vanished back into her hiding spot. "You said color was eight, right?" she asked, orange eyes flashing up to Fitzroy as she waited for his response.

Fitzroy grinned at the blush on the woman's face, which made her all the more adorable in his opinion. Such a severe-looking spawn with such a feminine and unsure expression; she would be something to draw. However, he didn't have any hard feelings when she handed him a picture of a sweet and confused-looking scene kid. He wasn't about to try and steal away someone who had already found someone they wanted to be with; that was just mean. He studied the picture for a moment, admiring all of colors that would be used.

"Yup, color is eight. And, might I say, color is the best choice for someone with so many rainbows." He chuckled to himself as he took the girl's money, stuffing it into his back pocket and pulling out his set of colored pencils. "So, who is he? Boyfriend would be my first guest, but he's a little young." He giggled as he gestured for the girl to sit down on the stool for his clients. "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Ily blushed a little more and fidgeted a bit before sitting down on the stool Fitzroy had gestured to. "He's not all that young, to be honest. Assuming you're from the same facility we're from, you'd understand when I said we were only a simple growth apart. I'm just... tall," she replied, still holding onto the extra eight dollars she had pulled out earlier. Ah, another little dilemma she had been forced to realize after Gabriel had asked her out; they were about a foot apart in height.

"I'm Ilyrosa, but you can call me Ily. Less of a mouthful, I've found. What's your name?" she asked, hoping to shift the attention away from Gabe and back to the artist she just happened to come across. Unlike the pride child, she herself didn't exactly like attention on such specific things like her love life.

Fitzroy smiled and nodded understandingly as he sketched, smiling at the doofy expression on the boy's face. He certainly looked like a character. "Ah, I see. Well, once again, I don't really care how old or young he is. Love is love, right?" He grinned to himself as he rifled through his pencils, trying to find the exact right shade for the boy's lovely eyes. "Besides, he's a little cutie. Good for you ~"

"I don't know, Ilyrosa's pretty," he said with a shrug, glancing up from his drawing to smile at her. "I'm Fitzroy. Nice to meet you. So, is this a present for him or for you? And, uh, if I'm being nosy, you can just tell me to shush." He laughed easily. "I just get curious about people, you know. And this is a great way to meet new people."

Ily blushed and nodded, watching the teen curiously as he sketched and colored. "Yeah. I haven't decided yet as to what I'm going to do. I was going to ask you for another of me later when you finished this one," she replied, laughing when he did. "No, no, it's fine. I don't mind all that much. I just wish I could draw. Don't exactly have the patience for it, unfortunately." At this, she just snorted and looked off at the nearby people with an irritable look.

"Though I suppose that's not exactly a big surprise either," she continued, already feeling impatient and irritable just sitting still on the stool. Like she could ever sit still enough to do an entire drawing that wasn't just a simple and quick sketch with half a dozen major errors and scribbles.

Fitzroy nodded wisely, adding the rainbow streaks in his subject's hair with relish. "Oh really? Lucky me. I assume it's going to be of you? That'd make a great present, just so you know," he said with a wink. "Not to try and brag, but I've had a few girls do the same thing for their boyfriends, and one for her girlfriend. It's just a good idea." He chuckled amiably at her patience comment, shrugging one shoulder again. "Ah, it's not for everyone. That's fine; I'm sure you have something that you're great at."

As he glanced up, Fitzroy couldn't help but notice Ilyrosa's discomfort, and he gestured with a casual chuckle. "You know, you don't have to sit around if you don't want to. Go ahead and move around if you have to; I won't mind." He paused, searching for a pencil that had gotten lost, and then continued his small talk. "You said you were spawn, right? From your sitting, can I guess Diligence?"

Ilyrosa laughed, kicking her feet a little awkwardly. "I just might do that then. I'm sure he'd absolutely love the gift," she replied, pondering the idea curiously. "What I'm good at isn't exactly something I can do sitting on a park bench and advertise," she added with a soft laugh, already getting up to move around a bit. Sitting still... She hated it and yet, she had no idea how her brother could do it all day.

"You guessed correctly. And I assume Liberality for you?" she asked, recognizing the wings from somewhere, though not from any of her friends specifically. She couldn't even begin to guess what his sin would be, having never seen a spawn with a mouth on their stomach or bright green ears. Moving around a bit, she couldn't help but cross her arms in hopes of fending off the slight cold that bit into her skin. "Though I haven't the foggiest idea what your sin could even remotely be," Ilyrosa added with a laugh.

Fitzroy beamed as he sketched, happy that his advice had been taken. He didn't want to come off as conceited, but pictures seemed like such a good present to him that he couldn't help offering. He nodded knowingly when she declined showing off her talent. "Don't worry, it's all good. I know plenty of people with talents that aren't public-appropriate. Don't make it less of a talent." For a moment, Adelle drifted into his thoughts, but he forced himself to concentrate. He was not going to go down that road.

"Yup, Liberality for me," He colored the boy's wings flamboyantly. "And don't worry, I don't know what your sin is, either. I'm a Gluttony kid, but I'm from the, uh, older Gluttony, I guess you'd say?" Fitzroy glanced up from his sketch, gesturing vaguely with his pencil and working through his phrasing. "Yeah, I guess that works. The point is that my demon father died; he exploded or something a while ago." The teen was amused at how casually he said that now, when he had been shaken when he had first learned about the death.

"As for you..." Fitzroy bent close, scrutinizing Ilyrosa with his trained artist's eyes. "I'd say... Envy, or... maybe Wrath?"

Ily just stared at Fitzroy as he explained. Exploded? Huh, how incredibly... strange. "Exploded or something? Huh...," her thoughts wandered off, pondering what could have happened to the old gluttony demon. She certainly knew a lot of new gluttony kids, but Fitzroy was the only one from the old one. So enveloped in her thoughts the teen barely realized he had asked her something.

"Hm? Envy? Hardly," she laughed, finding the idea amusing for some reason. "No, no, the new wrath is who I take after. Not exactly the best combination I've found. So... Is that REALLY a mouth on your stomach?" Ily asked, bewildered at how exactly that would work. Then again, she still questioned her brother but at least she had a good idea on how things worked. Generally.

Fitzroy laughed at Ilyrosa's response, understanding it completely. "Yeah, 'huh' is right. I don't know all the details," he said conversationally as he attacked the paper with lime green to create the boy's speckles, "seeing as I heard it... third-hand from one of my friends. Actually, I don't think anyone at the Facility even knows what really happened. Apparently he got in a fight with the old Wrath demon and tore him to pieces, but as for why he died..." He shrugged and smiled at the young woman. "Well, it's in the past anyhow. It's not like I personally knew the guy, but it still makes you wonder, you know?"

He nodded sagely at her response, but was unsure how to address her comment about her combination. Far be it from Fitzroy to want to insult someone, but at the same time... "Yeah, I can see that. Lots of energy though, am I right?" He chuckled again and begun putting the finishing touches on the picture before he was thrown off by her question about Pac-man.

"Oh, him? Hehe, yeah, he's real." FItzroy plucked a stick off the ground and held it temptingly in front of Pac-man, who promptly munched it up. "His name is Pac-man, and he's sweet, even though he looks scary. He's kind of like having a bulldog attached to your tummy. You can feed him something if you like; I've trained him not to bite people who feed him." He signed the corner of the picture with a final flourish, and then handed it towards Ilyrosa with a smile.

"So, that does it for that picture. Thanks for your business," he said as he handed the photograph back with the portrait. "Tell him that he was fun to draw; it was nice to use so many colors in one picture. Now, are you gonna want a picture of yourself too, or will this be all for you today?" The nerdy teenager smiled charmingly at his peer. Personally, he didn't want her to go: she was fun to talk to, plus looked like she'd be fun to draw. After so many humans, with their boring features all the same, spawn portraits were a treat. Not to mention the fact that she was oh so very pretty...
PostPosted: Tue Mar 15, 2011 7:54 pm

The look of pure and absolute amazement rolled across Ilyrosa's face, eyes widening as the tummy-mouth-thing named Pac-man munched the stick up without even seeming to care what it was. Nothing in the world at that moment was cooler than that and nothing ever will be. It took the teen several minutes to realize he had spoken and was holding out both the finished picture and her photo back. Still in awe at Pac-man, and wondering still how it was even remotely possible, Ily took hold of the two things and got a good look at them finally.

And then was blown away by it. "Damn... You're hella good at this art stuff. Oh! Oh yeah! I think I have more money for one of me and... and... You sure I can feed him? Cause that's so freaking cool! And I'm sure Gabriel would love to hear that, but then again I'm not sure stroking his ego is a good idea but holy crap! He'll eat anything I guess?" And wham, like a switch questions started pouring out at lightning speeds while still remaining intelligible somehow. As fast as she was talking her hands were digging through her magical hidden pocket in some attempt to find anything the tummy mouth dubbed Pac-man could eat. A couple of mints, some bubblegum, a pen, and a wad of bills were unfortunately all she could find.

Then again, there was a street vendor nearby selling various things from cotton candy to hot dogs to ice cream to roasted almonds. "Drat, I was hoping I had something stashed in here..." Ily cursed, staring at the handful of items in her hand. How in the world did a paper clip get in there? Right, Damon was teaching her unsuccessfully to pick locks by locking the doors at night and refusing to give her the key. She just went with the tactic of kicking the door down or leaving her window open instead of wasting hours trying to pick a stupid lock. "Think he'll eat these?" Any thoughts of art had been instantly abandoned. And how could one focus when he had a really super epic tummy mouth?

It was unthinkable to not exploit it by feeding the poor thing mass amounts of items and gleeing afterward when he ate it.

Fitzroy had never seen anyone so overjoyed about his tummy-mouth, and Ilyrosa's reaction was so surprising that he burst out laughing. He had to shake the picture a few times to get her to take it, and blushed openly at the compliments. "Thanks, I- I practice a lot. I want to become an artist someday - well, you know, not just a street artist, but an artist-artist - so hearing that kind of feedback is really nice." He chuckled again at her questions about Pac-man. "As far as I've explored, yeah. He'll even eat things I don't like. Feed him anything you want."

Fitzroy opened his mouth to ask more about Ilyrosa's next picture, but when she started frantically searching for something to feed Pac-man, he stopped with a smile. It didn't really matter to him; Ilyrosa was really pretty and fun to talk to. For not the first time, he despaired at the fact that she already had a boyfriend. His smile brightened at her offering, and he nodded wryly. "Oh yeah, he'll eat all of that, even your money if you're not careful. You can go ahead at offer it to him. He might try to nibble on your fingers or lick your hand, but as long as you don't freak out and start flailing, he won't bite hard. Go on, try." Fitzroy leaned back slightly and stuck Pac-man out, the sentient mouth already panting in excitement. He could sense the food being offered, and he was, as always, eager to taste.
