Everytime I walk by a Tree I usually walk by, if something is wrong, I'll turn my head and look at the tree, only to find out that it's dying. Well, one day, I was walking down my road, with my headphones on, looking down when I suddenly felt an intense pain. I looked around, and then up, only to see that some Trees had their top branches cut down, not only that, but some Trees were cut down. I cried.
Ever since I was little, I loved Trees, they gave me something to climb, something to sleep under in shade, comfort. I once fell off a Tree,(he is still alive and I call him "Brother") when I reached for a dead branch, one of the live branches was able to break my fall short by sacrificing it's limb to save me, so I only got the wind knocked down on me, in return, that limb broke off.
Trees give me inspiration, and Trees showed me that animals aren't the only things with emotions. Trees speak with emotions. I feel pain whenever I sense a Tree has been hurt in some way, I cry whenever I feel a Tree has been cut down or died. And it happens before I realize what has happened to the Trees. I just feel it.

Is it just the sadness you feel from them or do you get the joy as well? Brother probably has many stories to share. Just rest under him with your back against his trunk, sit quietly and listen. But trees do deserve compashion as well. When you feel their pain, whisper to them your regrets and appologize for the ignorance of human kind, and let them know there are those who do treasure them and you are one of those people.

I do exactly that, and yes, I do feel their happiness and other range of emotions too.

Whenever I pass by a tree, my walking slows a little, and sometimes I just stand there and follow it's branches. The two things that make me feel most connected to the spiritual side of life: the Night Sky, and Trees. I don't know if I can read their emotions...to be honest, I've never tried. Although sometimes I think I hear them speaking to me, a lot like the wind which I'm so fond of. I'm afraid to just let loose and trust that things like this are real, sometimes. I'm working on it...
BTW-I fell from a tree, too, and permanently hurt my knee XD *laughs* It was a half-fall...my leg got caught, but the rest of me didn't. *giggles* It's been since then I felt more connected to them, oddly enough.

I've felt that way for some time. I'm literally a tree hugger, I just feel a lot better about the world being near something with so much wisdom. I too want to cry when I see trees being mutilated because they're in the way, or inconvenient. My home town is being taken over by the rich, people are moving in left and right. Something I saw that illustrated this better than I can put into words was an old tree, with all of it's major limbs cut in half, and all minor limbs and leaves completely removed. Nailed to the trunk was a "for sale" sign.

That is sad about the tree.
My brother took some courses for trimming trees and says that most people trim far more than necessary from trees. Hydro crews are the worst culprits. Apparently, all that is needed are a couple of branches to keep it looking full, and yet prevents further growth around the wires.

Interesting.
You have opened my mind to more than it was enclosed to. I understand now that trees share and want to share a greater meaning in being in interaction. I think tomorrow I'll take notice with this. And spend a greater time with them.

I wouldn't say that I'm so much of a true hugger, but I do sense the trees a bit. I can sense when they are healthy and happy, but also when they are not. I used to sing to my mother's plants too. I think they enjoyed the company since they rarely got any when I wasnt around to tell stories, read books or sing songs. The main drawback to this of course is that the city I live in has way too much pollen so my allergies go wild when Im around too many plants (especially the trees around here) at one time (although I do like to grow plants to improve my mood).

I too love trees.
i can't usualy sense emotion, but they feel so wise, and like they would have a lot to say.
since i barely see trees other then dying palms (big city) they are like a small peice of livelyness.
I used to sing to plants in my grandmothers garden, and sing to the trees too. I felt like it made them happier, if only they could tell me.
I loved her yard, but her property was bought out from her. There is an apartment complex built right over that yard now.

I used to live in a neighbourhood filled with huge trees, that I loved to watch and talk to... and even draw. Now we've moved only a block away, and the trees here are so young and I supposed you could say inexperienced. They just don't hold any wisdom for me the way older trees do. I suppose Im being a little critical... not to say I don't like them.... I just wish they were bigger crying
