It had been a great long time since she'd seen Maritess, and Kasumi had been very busy in the meantime. She was working on a present for the undead girl in the form of a simple, yet somewhat elegant, bracelet. Since most of Maritess' features were white, black or red, the ghost settled on something in the green range to bring out her best features. The chain was a simple silver, salvaged from the Lost and Found Bin. She'd managed to gather up a great deal of odds and ends from the bin, arranging for herself a small jeweler's workshop in her dorm room. Checking out books from the library, she'd read up on how to go about making jewelry for people. It was harder without the specific equipment, but the school was able to provide odds and ends that allowed the ghost to jerry-rig herself something similar to the diagrams in the book. It made Kasumi happy to make things for people, and she wanted to give her first few items to good friends.

Now she had to seek out Maritess!

The ghost wandered over to the undead dorms, appreciating how the dorm was kept cooler to slow any decomposition the students may be experiencing. Miss President Rain was in here somewhere too! Several of her friends spanned the species spectrum, which made Kasumi very happy and appreciative. She had to stop and ask several students where the mananananananagal happened to be staying, and several pointed fingers later, Kasumi stood on the stoop of Tess' dorm room.

Instead of phasing through the wall, she knocked and announced herself. "Ah, Miss Tess? Are you available?"

Maritess had been in the middle of combing her hair, with some help from Trixie. (This was one of the few benefits to having a minipet that had several tentacles.) She hardly ever got visitors, not really wanting to invite her friends to the undead dorms because of the smell even if her room was in the upper floors where air circulation existed. So it was a big surprise for the winged vampire to suddenly hear a knock and a voice calling her name.

Wait a second, she recognize that voice! Brightening, Tess immediately flew towards the door, "Kasumi?" she called out happily, only to be sharply jerked back when the purple tentacle's grip on her hair tightened. Apparently, Trixie wasn't done combing and didn't want to let go just yet! Even through the door, there would be an audible "Aaack!" and an equally audible thump of Tess falling to the floor. "I-I'll be there in a second!" she promised, rolling onto her stomach to give her wings room to flap and lift herself back up. "Trixie, let go!" she hissed.

Oh dear. Miss Tess sounded quite busy! Blinking, Kasumi took a few steps back from the door and waited patiently. The ghost was quite happy to wait, too, for she could take in the sights and sounds (and smells) of the undead dorm. The smells never bothered her (Jack, she didn't really have a working nose to begin with), but that didn't stop several undead students from balking at her. Someone other than an undead in the dorms?! How preposterous! Kasumi gave them all a polite bow as they continued on. Being a ghost definitely had its perks, that was for certain. The undead dorm itself was fascinating - it was kept cooler to keep the students from deteriorating too quickly, just like the ghost dorms were kept warmer to make sure all the students within were happier. It worked much the same way.

"Do you need any help, Miss Tess?" asked the ghost, waving to a zombie who plodded by her with an odd look on his face. Maybe he always wore that look? Not everyone was as interesting or flexible as Miss Tess was.

Trixie could sense there was a new thing outside its territory. It wasn't sure it liked that. But so long as it was behind the door, the purple tentacle had no problem. It continued to brush and comb its master's long, black hair, a tongue happily lolling out of one of its many mouths.

Normally, Maritess was strong enough to keep her minipet from bolting while it was on its leash. But with her hair in a deathgrip, she couldn't really pull herself free, "Y-yes, I mean n-no, I mean, come right in! You can phase through the door, I don't mind." she called out, sighing to herself. "Pardon the mess!"

It wasn't a mess. Not really. Some of the furniture had a couple of teethmarks and the walls were missing their usual ten million ribbons but Tess kept her room neat. Of course by mess, she might have been referring to herself, what with her hair not being properly combed for the day yet.

"Well, if you insist, Miss Tess!"

Kasumi sputtered for a moment and walked right through the door, not being used to inviting herself in like this so often! But then again, she didn't invite herself. Semantics! After fighting with herself for a moment longer, the ghost gave her best bow to Miss Tess, regarding the little creature combing her hair with an odd and surprised look. "Oh Miss Tess? What is that little creature there? Is it a servant of yours?"

Indeed, it looked just like it was serving Maritess by combing her hair. How adorable! And very efficient too. Maritess was a queen of efficiency if there ever was one. Kasumi was quite honored to know her! Stepping forward, the ghost announced why she had intended to bother Tess at this time of day. "I've made something for you and couldn't wait to give it to you. I hope you don't mind, Miss Tess! I was working very hard on it and I hope it doesn't fall apart on you. If it does, please bring it back to me and I'll fix it."

She held a pale hand out and unwrapped her fingers, displaying a silver link-chained necklace with a simple silver bedding. Inside was a green gem shined as much as Kasumi could muster. It was one of her first works and ones to come would no doubt be better quality, but it was the thought that counted!
