It had taken some time but Astar was finally coming to terms with… well, herself. Under the guidance of the huntress Ahava, her hunting skills had noticeably improved (which wasn’t particularly difficult considering the starting point) and the young adult had slowly realized that she couldn’t be described as “useless” or a “burden” anymore. Being part of a pride meant being safe and always having food (and now some of that food was being caught by the patched girl herself). Finding her totem, the wild dog Kuma, had certainly helped as well - as did making new friends amongst the pride’s youth. Somehow it appeared that everything that had once worried the young huntress had been solved in one way or the other and Astar finally felt comfortable around those she loved.

Right now she was nearing her parents’ den, popping in for a quick visit. Kuma was out scouting for the afternoon’s work so the patched lioness was quite alone this time. She wondered if she'd find anyone in her old den at this hour. Whatever the case, this little trip could never be considered a waste, not when it was such a pleasant day for walk.
