Marzipanz Hayden:: *As he stepped into the cave he had found he shook the beads of water off his pelt and stared out at the downpour. It had been raining like this all afternoon and it took Hayden till just now to find a decent location to wait out the storm. A flash of lightening cracked and Hayden began to shiver and shake, fearing the thunder that was about to come. When it boomed the gave a small squeak of fear and made a dash for the back of the cave. He hugged his glow sticks close to his body, fearing the darkness around him. Oh, how he hated storms like this.* Shiningamisgirl Shen: *Shen truly didn't mind the rain, the storms in the desert had always been so beautiful, often dry, but sometimes filled with enough rain that it seemed as though the world would drown beneath it, and the lightning. Absolutely fabulous, lighting up the sky like a bright fire, exploding through the air with noise that could deafen. This was not the desert though..this was the forest, and here it started fires, zapped deer standing too near to trees, the rain that brought life elsewhere only seemed to make things boggy and depressing here in shens eyes. The purple hind jumping as a new crack of thunder sounded, making him wish he'd not wandered out here in the first place. Even if the rain didn't do much to his short and smoothe pelt, it was coming down so hard that it was uncomfortable to stand there..* "What is..A cave! Thank the sky I'm saved.." Shen breathed, noting a feint glow coming from inside the seemingly empty cave..though it could have been the lightning playing tricks on him. Still he dashed for it, skirting inside without bothering to check for occupants first.

Marzipanz Hayden:: *He sat shivering in the back, wishing for some source of warmth to thaw him. His eyes glued themselves to the mouth of the cave, watching for an unwelcome guests. Monsters maybe. Yes, the darkness brought all sorts of monsters that could strip meat right off the bone and pick defenseless herla clean. Hayden tried his best to steer clear of such imaginative thoughts but his phobia got the best of him. Especially when a shadowed figure crossed the entrance of his shelter and wandered inside. He sunk his body into the ground and laid low on the floor, but his glow sticks gave off an unmistakable light.* "D-don't eat me! Please!" *He finally couldn't take it anymore and shouted out at the mysterious figure who stood before him.* Shiningamisgirl Shen shook himself fiercely, letting the thick rain slip from his pelt and out of his ears, his long tail flicking back and forth in slow strokes to dislodge more of the clinging dampness..Now if only he could do something about the cold. His ears suddenly pinning themselves forwards, twisting towards the sound of anothers voice..Eating? Was that what he'd heard? "Fe-fi-fo-fum? I'm afraid I don't eat meat my friend..if..if you are a friend." This was what he got for wandering into caves, there was probably a talon in here! Or a large wolf..or a pissed off bear..Most bears and wolves did not glow, and certainly Talons were more cautious, they'd never let themselves be seen if they were stalking prey. "And I do hope that you are..for if your a predator, your terrible at it." Shen felt himself smile, slowly stalking his way towards the back of the cave, that glow seemed so familiar.

Marzipanz Slowly the buck let his head rise from the floor and his ears swiveled around till they were zoning in on the sillhouette before him that seemed vaguely familiar. What was it about his voice that seemed to warm his heart. Shouldn't he be afraid of this stranger. Well, if he was even a stranger at all. After the comforting reassurance Hayden got to his feet shakily, a bit stiff from the cold. "I'd rather be a friend than a foe..." He stepped lightly towards the obvious male before his lights illuminated enough of the buck for Hayden to truely see who he was. "Sh-shen? Shenny? Is that you?" He asked with his voice filled with desire and hope. "Oh please say it's you." He smirked and before he even received and answer he nuzzled his way against the male, clinging tight and savoiring the heat between the two of them. He had felt so alone for so long now, it was good to see a familiar face that brought so many heart warming memories. "I've .... missed you, Shen." Shiningamisgirl Shen kept his eyes glued to that faint glow, the body of the shaky bucks voice so dark he could hardly make it out in the gloomy storm darkened light, but he knew that voice. Knew the smile it brought to him, the old memories and fun times.."I'd rather that as well. Yes hayden, it's me. You dont even know how good it is to hear your voice right now. It's storming like mad out there..Heh surprised the place hasn't flooded." Shen sighed, feeling a chilled and soggy body press up against his, nuzzling across him. "Gods, your freezing! How long were you out in that mess?" He sometimes forgot, not all deer were as water repelent as the delta. "Crazy thing.." Shen returned the nuzzling embrace, hooked his neck around Hayden's and pulled the hind closer. He wondered if he was even warm enough to help his friend. "Missed you too old friend. What happened to that demon lover of yours anyways? You shouldn't be out here alone!" Shen had always felt awkward about asking. He knew Hayden had a mate of some sort, but he'd never been fond of her. The children now that was different, they were amazing, but the mother..ech..He often wondered under what strange circumstances that came about.

Marzipanz Feeling Shen's gentle touch along with his sweet tone of voice left Hayden with a smile gracing his face. Just as it used to. Now a days it was a big difficult for Hayden to feel this sort of emotion. Careless, and full of happiness. He had sincerely missed it. "I've been out there.... um... for a while. " he answered Shen in a soft voice, embarrassed about how much time it took him to find this cave. "Come on, let's huddle up. It'll keep the both of us warm." He nipped at Shen's hair lightly before leading him to the back where the wind from outside couldn't reach them and laid on the rocky flooring. When the whole topic of Xiphi came up Hayden seemed to cringe at the thought. He was so uncertain about everything he ever shared with that devious female and wasn't in the mood to talk much about her. "I um... haven't seen her in some time.... H-how about you, Shenny? Any lovely Herla catch your eye lately?" He was so quick to get the spotlight off of his past relationship and on his friend. Clearly something wasn't right with him and Xiphi and maybe Shen would bring it up again, or just let it die. Shiningamisgirl "I can tell, you feel like you were dipped in ice. You even make me want to shiver" Shen chuckled softly, sighing as he nuzzled at Haydens freezing ears. "Cuddling would be nice right about now!" Following Hayden eazily, the light n** so friendly. He wouldn't have said no anyways, the way the wind was blowing and the rain pouring out there.. "I hope you dont slight me for this..but I'm kind of glad to hear that. She ah..never seemed to treat you like you deserved you know?" Shen shrugged sheepishly as he curled himself around Hayden, letting his tail get around as much of the smaller bucks body as it could. "I know I'm not one to judge though, pfft, never having had a mate myself I mean. I am sorry if I'm being rude though..I dont mean to be.." Shen could feel him cringe, that awkward sort of conversation filling the gap. "Ah..any..does..no, there was one but." Shen let out a soft depressed sigh, he knew Kherty, Kherty had caught his eye more then once, as a friend and even more so. But the Hind was to closed off, to afraid of life to be with him right now. "No, I guess no one special has crossed my path yet, I'm a lucky single buck"

When the purple buck spoke of his dislike for Xiphi Hayden got a familiar embarrassment swirling about in the pit of his stomach. This feeling came about often when people spoke about him and Xiphi. It was never something positive. Nobody liked his semi-mate and he was starting to realize that he wasn't to fond of her either. He was just so desperate to be loved he sort of fell for her without thinking. She was just so dang manipulative, and she left him with a scar. Hayden tilted his head and glanced back at Shen as they curled about one another. He had to admit, he hadn't done this with anybody before and the secure feeling of Shen's tail wrapped tightly about his body caused a flutter in his stomach. "And .... and how do you think I should be treated?" He asked curiously, but was hoping for a dreamy heart filled answer, though he knew he shouldn't give his hopes up to much. He was the one who had abandoned Shen after all, never keeping in contact. That right now was one of Hayden's must regrettable mistakes. When the stud spoke of being a lucky single man Hayden found himself starting to smile. At least he hadn't missed his chance. There was still a glimmer of light at the end of this tunnel and Hayden was getting more and more eager to reach it. He did his best to get all clingy and sappy, nuzzling against the male all the more. "It's been so long..."
"Like any other herla for one..kindly for another, you always seemed so gentle, full of life and fire you know? Always sweet and excited..and she just..never seen anyone walk all over you like that." Shen coulda kicked himself, it was hayden's mate he was bad mouthing! The mother of his sweet little fawns! He had no right. "Not that she was..I mean..You just seemed, crushed by her. Not the childrens of course, watching you raise em, it was so cute. Seeing you all fatherly and lovey, the perfect little mother hayden you were!" Shen teased lightly, giving his friend a soft nudge. "If nothing else, whatever mate your with Hayden, if ever you do find yourself with another one, they'd best treat you with love." Giving a firm nod as he spoke, turning his gaze to catche his friends, he really did believe in what he was saying. That Hayden deserved so much, and it never seemed like he got it! He felt Hayden nuzzle closer, listened to him, wondering what exactly it'd been so long since. Since They'd seen each other? Yes it had been a long time, but Hayden's voice, it sounded so aluring...different the way he spoke those words. "It' has been huh, we used to do this all the time didn't we? Go have good fun, and then end up cuddling, lyin out in the grass." Shen smiled, running his tongue warmly over Hayden's snout. "No worries, I'll keep you warm..wont let things go so long again like they have Hayden. I've been a pretty shabby friend"
