I'm sure everyone has heard this in the past few days, but I just wanted to say how stupid and illogical it is. No, your horoscope has not changed! Unless you are going by the Eastern zodiac, which operate differently than the Western, which is what almost everyone goes by.
Here is a pretty good article that explains. It is short and to the point. So please... No freaking out. If you really know what the traits of are your horoscope you would be rolling your eyes at this.

I was wondering why this "my sign's changed" threads were popping up so much.

I honestly don't pay attention to the zodiac signs, but I was sort of curious why every one kept posting things about their sign changing.

I have never really cared about my Horoscope, I don't even read that section unless I'm bored.
And my sign didn't even change, actually.

So, apparently, I'm a Capricorn now.
But I loved being Aquarius. I don't like goats, and they don't like me. A goat tried to eat my skirt once.
... so, my question now is, why do people let the stars determine what kind of person they are? It's true, sometimes the readings are scarily accurate, but... some people get really gung-ho about this.

I do not go crazy with it by following all of it's vague advice, but I do consider some of it.
I can not say for others though.

Lumanny the Space Jew I have never really cared about my Horoscope, I don't even read that section unless I'm bored. And my sign didn't even change, actually. Actually, if you follow the Western zodiac, your sign has not changed. Like I said, it's the Eastern. I'm just tired of every flipping when some dumb scientist decides to change this. But it is pretty rediculous for someone to announce "your horoscope isn't right". I find it a little rude.

I almost got switched to the sign before mine, but just barely didn't. By, like, 2 days. My birthday used to be at the veeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrry end of the ranges of dates for my sign. Like, the third-to-last day. Now my birthday is at the veeeeeeeerrrrryyy beginning of the range of dates for my sign. Like, the second day. It was pretty close.

Although, honestly, I've never really cared much for Horoscopes. It's like, for one sign's traits it'll say something like "You enjoy being around people, though sometimes you like to be alone" and for another sign's traits it'll say something like "You are often selfish, but you also sometimes give to others." People go "OMG OMG Tha's me exactly!" but only because they are a bunch of Barnum Statements that apply to everyone. My father is a psychologist, and he once told me about an experiment where they asked every student in a class when their birthday was. The next day, all the students came to class to find an envelope with their name on it. They were told that inside were their individual horoscopes for the birthdays they gave. All the students read the horoscope and, when asked, said that their horoscope actually fit them really well. At the end of the experiment it was revealed that all the students had been given the same horoscope. Horoscopes are boad and vague on purpose, so that they can apply to everyone.
Like I said, I only read my horoscope if I'm bored. Oh, and also I look at the Horoscopes in TV Guide Magazine, but only because next to each sign is a celebrity with that sign, and I like to see what celebrity they put next to my sign, just out of curiosity.

I understand that they are very broad, but some are very acute. The "true" traits of a horoscope are pretty hard to find, but when you do they always match to other sources. For instance, Sagittarius are very out-going and adventurous and like to be outside. The females are tomboys. I can be out-going. I am adventurous. I do love to be outside (I get that winter depression from lack of sunlight, but then a lot of people do. Vitamin C defiency anyone?) And I sure as hell am a tomboy. But there are other people who are adventurous and a lot more out-going than me. *shrugs*

I am a little confused about all of the hullabaloo surrounding the shift in astrological signs. I distinctly remember reading an article about this same concept 5 or 6 years ago. So the idea is definitely not new. I don't get why it is sparking so much debate now.
Plus even if signs have shifted.... how many people take astrology as a serious guiding force to their lives in this day and age? Maybe I'm being naive, but I know few people who take their signs and horoscopes as more than amusement and curiosity.

Verene I am a little confused about all of the hullabaloo surrounding the shift in astrological signs. I distinctly remember reading an article about this same concept 5 or 6 years ago. So the idea is definitely not new. I don't get why it is sparking so much debate now. Because New Age marketers know that most of their target audience is largely ignorant of any of the practices and fields they promote. They can create ripples in this community easily by just re-hashing stuff or actually exploring information within the fields and practices they are marketing.
