This is a PRP between Renaissance (Kuro-Mizuki) and Nightengale XIII (Nyxtsuki Moon).

Night was pretty relaxed today. It was a calm, sunny day at the Halloween academy and while he had yet to get into any classes, He was enjoying the downtime of messing around. Simone had his been first friend besides Mei and Tybalt, and he was curious just to how many more of the students he would meet and befriend. However, today that could wait.

Right now, he was doing his favorite activity of all time, scaling the heights, balancing on the beams of the rooftop of the academy. Needless to say it was dangerous, but he was a ghost so he doubted he'd die...again. Oh and he was a cat, and cat's had impeccable balancing skills.

That being said, as he sped through the beams of the rooftops, jumping from roof to another, barely toppling to the side, he soon would come across a most tired and possibly laziest Gryphon around. After before a silly stunt to the next rooftop, Night heard the most curious of sounds, that of a soft snore and leaned over the beam he was at to explore the sound.

His eyes happened upon another student clad in loose clothing, with a strange smell to him. He was a far more intresting color and skin of the students, a light brown covered him mostly, including the fur plus a pair of small brown wings that had him tucked into a peaceful slumber. Night's curiosity and need for attention have him leaping over the beam and landing softly next to the boy, peering down before moving to touch him.

"Uh, Are you alive sir?"
Night poked the boy, his tail twitching around him.

Ren had been dreaming of pillows.

They were pretty nice pillows; big and fluffy and comfortable, filled with down feathers and Ren curled down into them happily, pushing his nose into the pile. It was, if anything, a very pleasant, simple sort of dream, one that he was enjoying very much.

That was, at least, until he was rather abruptly awakened by someone poking his leg. Ren blinked blearily awake, eyes fluttering open as he yawned widely. Beside him, Takashiro also uncurled himself, the incendia sitting back on his haunches to peer suspiciously at the newcomer. Ren twisted on his side, wings unfurling, to look up at whoever it was that had disturbed his slumber.

It was a boil, though none that Ren recognized - a cat, from the looks of it, with tousled black hair and luminous, phosphorescent green eyes that glowed with curiosity. He was crouched over him, tail flicking behind him.

Ren blinked. "Er," he said, lifting an eyebrow. "Who, ah...are you?

"Also, I'm pretty sure I'm still alive,"
Ren added, as an afterthought. "Unless I just died without realizing it. But I'm pretty sure I'm still alive."

Night watched as the stranger awoke, eyes blinking back sleep before a tired yawn and unfurling of wings. Night continued to watch as the boy turned to face him and cocked his head, the wings were painfully perking his interest as he looked down, noticing that the student carried the same traits of a Gryphon, besides the wings and brown coloring, he also had ears and a lion's tail. This would be Night's first time meeting a Gryphon ever as he smiled and sat on his haunches, ignoring the pet that had climbed over the boy.

His tail flicked again as the boy spoke, causing Night's ears to twitch with the unfamiliar tones of the other boy. "Name's Nightengale XIII, Black Cat Extraordinaire, or well not really extraordinaire, more of Unlucky! I am a unlucky Black cat...haha." Night cocked his head to the side as he continued to study the boy, he even went as far to lean over and sniff him, imprinting the sounds and smells to his senses for easy recognition in the future. "Well then thats good, the way you seemed to be sleeping, you we're more at rest then I am in cat form! And that's saying something since I am pretty lazy, well usually." Night scooted closer before cocking his head to the other side.

"So who are you? Your a student here, what dorm? Do you always come to the rooftop to sleep?" Night fired questions off, no one ever told him that curiosity could and probably would kill the cat. And well, He didn't really sweat that he had just woken the poor boy from his nap either.

Ren rested his head on the palm of his hand, turning to lay on his side as he regarded the cat. "Nightengale, is it?" he said, stifling a yawn. Takashiro curled up beside him, pressing his tail into his stomach. Ren pushed it away. "That's certainly an interesting name. And you say you're unlucky, do you? Well, thirteen to me is a pretty cool number." He shrugged, seemingly not bothered by the fact that the ghost cat had inched closer, nose crinkling as he sniffed him.

Reaching his hand up, Ren pushed back some of the hair from his face, letting out yet another yawn before answering. He wasn't irritated in the slightest by the barrage of questions Nightengale was leveling at him; after all, Belladonna had been even more inquisitive, and he liked to talk himself, so he did not find this strange or out of the ordinary.

"The name's Renaissance," he said, cracking a grin in the other's direction. "But you can call me Ren. I'm a gryphon, so I'm in the monster dorms." He gave a shrug. "If I don't sleep anywhere else, yeah. The rooftop's as good a place as any to take a nap.

"But what about you, Mr. Cat?"
Ren asked lightly. "What brings you to this rooftop this lovely day?"

Night watched the other boy before sitting in the most comfortable of positions, crossing his legs and letting his tail curl around so he continue his barrage and inquisitive nature. Smiling he blushed a bit at the comment of the number, no matter where he went in the school, no one seemed really bothered by the fact that he was a black cat, or the fact that he was very unlucky!

"Thanks, Not sure where Nightengale came from but I am the 13th cat born of the 13th litter of the 13th cat of her own litter on Friday the 13th! So thats where I got XIII from in my name!" Night's nose flickered as he turned to the side to sneeze, before looking back at the boy, "I think Seven is a better number though, because everyone wants the number seven! Its a lucky number." Night rocked a bit before looking at the pet. The boy was very relaxed and calm, Night liked that, it was like talking to a very...Calm person!

"How come you yawn so much?"
Night cocked his head at the second yawn before holding his hand out, "Nice to meet you Renaissance! Well Ren, Oh you can call me Night for short, our names are pretty long aren't they?" He laughed before his tail flickered back and forth with excitement.

"Really your a monster?? Well I suppose that would make more sense, You have wings though, can you fly with them? I am a ghost so our dorms are father from each other, oh and can't fly haha, though I don't think I would enjoy it." Night sighed, "Too bad though! I should visit sometime!" Looking out to the rooftops he had jumped from before he gave Ren a secretive cat grin, his eyes slitting in what could only be a something a cat could truly pass off.

"Rooftops are fun to practice balancing, I'm pretty amazing about it, I can see everything from up here and even if I fall, I won't die...again, nor will I fall on my face."
Night got up to show the other boy, going to the edge of the roof and climbing on the narrow beam, walking up and down it with keen prescion, while Night's face was more relaxed, as if it was nothing more then a stroll.

"However, I came to this rooftop cause you were here! Not many people come up here so I thought it strange. Do you have any classes yet Ren? Or have you joined any clubs?"
Night cocked his head on the beam before jumping off it and returning to the other boy.

With yet another yawn, Ren pushed himself up into a sitting position as well, sliding one leg up to rest his elbow on his knee. "It's all right," he said with a shrug, absently petting Takashiro's silky black fur with one hand. "I'm not quite sure where my name comes from either. My parents named me Renaissance and my sister Medieval. I think it has something to do with the human world, but I have no idea what."

The ghost cat was peering at him with a curious expression, luminescent green eyes wide and inquisitive. He seemed a very interesting sort, talkatative and persistent. His sister would have most likely called the cat irritating, but Ren found him to be surprisingly endearing. "Yes, I do fly," he answered with a smile, wings fluttering slightly behind him. "Not very much, since it takes a bit of effort, but I do enjoy it. It was a little scary at first, but I rather like it."

He raised an eyebrow at the ghost's next comments. "Balancing?" Ren repeated, tilting his head. "Isn't that a little dangerous?"

His question was answered by Night rising, moving towards the beams that criscrossed over the roof. Tail flicking behind him, the cat moved easily, an air of grace around him as he stepped nimbly over the metal.

"Hmm..." Ren said, musing. "I can at least control my flying, so it's not that dangerous. However, your balancing act there...that's quite...a risk."

Lying back down, Ren stretched out on his back, linking his fingers behind his head. "Yeah, I've got a few. Mostly skipping, though. And I haven't joined any clubs yet. What about you, little black cat? Any exciting stories to tell?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 26, 2011 6:49 pm

Night snorted at Ren's name and his sister and thought of the two words together. To be honest, his knowledge of the human world was like anyone else's, and that was very little. He shrugged as he watched the Gryphon before rocking in his sitting position.

"Flying, Flying." Night looked at him so excitedly, "It must be so fun to be up in the air! Oh but, when you get bigger you will be able to fly like....like really long!" He smiled happily and pointed at Ren, "I want to be there when you fly next time, because If I show you my balancing act, then you should show me your flying!"

And even after the small show of his ablities, Night purred in content. "It is a risk, but it is too fun to pass up! Oh and I always land on my feet so even when I fall, I don't have to worry. Only when its way way up high. I might break a leg." Night's eyes twinkled at the thought, it would be a challenge he would try to attempt in the future or something.

"Ah, I haven't gotten any yet, nor am I any clubs I think." Night cocked his head before pondering, "I've only had a poker night and then I mess with Mei the Doll and Tybalt the Dog. Do you know them?" Night cocked his head at the little black cat name and scooted closer to Ren, "Hey Hey, You gotta let me know if I am bothering you so I will leave you to sleep." His ears flopped at the though of leaving because he was interested in the other boy, he was....new to him.

Ren gave a snort of amusement. "Bigger?" he repeated lightly, tilting his head to give the cat a look of mixed curiosity and interest. "I'm already big, darling. You just haven't seen me in my gryphon form. It really is rather large, though I don't shift into it often."

This was mostly because Ren's gryphon form was, in fact, enormous; the size of a huge lion with a fifteen foot wingspan and large eagle's talons combined with heavy lion paws. Overall, he made for a rather intimidating creature in that form.

However, he did not change to gryphon under normal circumstances. Usually it was only when he was upset, or perhaps irritated, even angry. Sometimes, rarely, he would change just because he wanted to. But most of the time he preferred his human form. It was really quite a bit easier to carry on a conversation while in human form, not to mention he simply liked this body better.

Ren gave a small snort. "Ah, yes, a cat always lands on his feet, is that it?" he asked, pushing his fingers absently through his hair. "I might have to see that sometime. Though I wouldn't recommend falling from the rooftop; it would probably hurt quite a bit."

He lifted a brow. "Poker night?" he echoed, somewhat vaguely, but his expression rapidly turned into a scowl. "I've not met Mei," he said. "But Tybalt - I've definitely met him."

The way he emphasized the definitely implied it had, in fact, not been a pleasant meeting at all. That damn dog, Ren thought, but let out a small sigh, his gaze flickering back to Night.

"You aren't bothering me," he said reassuringly, and reached out a hand, ruffling the cat's hair. "You're quite amusing, so no worries."

"Darling?" Night's tail twitched at the nickname, twitching his nose before his eyes widened. "It's larger then you right now? Your kinda of bigger then me too!" Night poked the large Gryphon, curious to see his real form before smiling largely. "I want to see your Gryphon form! I bet it would be awesome!" Night's eyes sparkled, mostly do to his cat like curiosity, his tail wagged in such excitement.

"That's right! Cat's always land on there feet, there hasn't been a day where I haven't been able to stand after a fall, nor have I ever hit any other part of my body besides my feet!" Night puffed his chest out in proudness, poking it with his thumb. "You should! I kinda of want to test this out from really high up, maybe the second story? Or maybe the Third story?!?! I wonder how it would be..." Night deflated, "But I don't wanna get hurt though, It would suck." Night sighed.

"Yes, Poker night! It was fun sorta, I don't remember it all too much seeing as it was so long ago." Night curled up when he saw the scowl, "Did I say something-Oh Tybalt! You don't like him?" Night's ears flattened before frowning, "Tybalt is my best friend. He is a funny, annoying dog." Night snorted before scooting closer to the dog. "that's good, I like you, do you like to snuggle?" Night asked again, or maybe again because he was curious. he liked the Gryphon boy.

Ren quirked an amused brow at the cat. "Haven't you ever been called 'darling' before?" he asked, grinning. "It's just a term of endearment, you know. Doesn't mean anything in particular, but if it makes you feel uncomfortable, I can just call you Night." He gave a shrug. It was more of a force of habit, really, to use monikers with people he met. Starting from when he was forced into what his parents deemed to be "society," Ren had been pushed into meeting a lot of kids around his own age, and had rapidly developed a tendency to use nicknames and affectations, mostly because it was difficult to remember everyone's proper names. The habit had apparently stuck with him all these years.

He smiled down at the cat. "Yep, bigger than this form. A lot bigger; I'd take up a good half of a classroom, most likely."

It had been a while since he had just sat and relaxed like this. Night was an interesting sort of boil, entertaining with a hint of that childlike curiosity. It was endearing, in a way, and it made Ren want to learn more about him. He had always been drawn towards cat-like monsters, mostly because of his own nature.

His expression turned mildly exasperated. "Tybalt's your best friend, is he?" he replied, repressing the urge to roll his eyes. "Ah...I see. I'm afraid we, er...didn't get off to the best start." That's certainly an understatement.

Night's next question caught Ren off guard, and for a moment he just blinked at the cat. Then he laughed aloud, shaking his head. "Do I like to snuggle?" he repeated, grinning as he tugged playfully on one of the cat's ears. "You know, you should be careful about who you say that to; they might mistake your meaning for something else entirely. I, however, think snuggling is a necessity and that all people should do it at some point or another."
PostPosted: Mon May 09, 2011 11:09 pm

Night shook his head no in response to the nickname before shrugging, "Not many people like a black cat so I don't really have...nicknames. I have names that aren't polite in nice company though." Night laughed before waving the talk off, "It's okay, call me what you want as long as its nice." Night winked at Ren, before trailing his finger on the rooftops ground. He tried not to remember all the painful memories, though they were fuzzy at the most and none ever made sense. Mostly, he suffered from the night terrors of his past life where he knew that he was hated, and judged because he had been a black cat. He sighed before brightening back up, more interested in the Gryphons story of himself then Night's own past.

"Half a classroom!?!?" Night exclaimed, climbing over the Gryphon to get a better look. "Good Jack's sake man, That is humongous! I really really want to see it sometime!" Night clapped his hands together, his tail still twitching in excitement, ears perked forward.

Night watched the other boy with a great admiration, his fascination due mostly to the new boil's scent and form. Not only did he have the quality of a cat but also that of a bird, which made Night seem doubly entranced with the other boy. How cool was it to be like a bird with the power of the large king of the jungle, The lion. Also a very big cat.

"Well I call him my best friend but I don't think he thinks the same. I think he is afraid of me for some reason but I am not really sure why." Night sighed, "Oh? Tybalt seems like he wouldn't get along with most anyways, sharp tongue and stuff. What'd he do to you?" Night cocked his head.

Night watched the boil blink, probably due to the shock of such a unnatural question. Night asked everyone he met though and was usually pleased with the answer, he had found many ghouls and boil's that like to cuddle. Like Simone, or LW. "Yes do you like to Snuggle?" Night repeated the question again and smiled as he heard the answer. "Something else?" Night looked down to think of what else somebody could mistake it for before shrugging again. "I like to snuggle, So I think all friends should snuggle!" Night snorted, "Besides, I like to snuggle, I am a kitty after all!" He winked, one ear twitching.
