Chilali - Schicksalswende
&
Maisha - Das Tor

Maisha had it this time. This time, that tasty little morsel of a meerkat was HIS. The orange and white leopon had to keep his heavily furred tail from twitching behind him, his excitement tangible to anyone who could see him. Unfortunately for the meerkat, this didn't apply to it. Mai grinned...and pounced...

And got a faceful of dirt as the meerkat dashed back into its hole, screaming in terror. Mai winced, ears going flat from both the pain in his face and the pitch of his attempted prey's screech. "Ugh...bloody Hunt-damned meerkat. YOU SHOULDA BEEN MY LUNCH!" Mai sighed and sat up, trying to clean dirt from his face. Damn meerkat.

Chilali's ears twitched at the sound of someone losing their lunch. The monochromatic leopard was scaling one of her favourite trees, intent on eating the dangling treasure that it held on a thick branch. She was slightly surprised that it was still there, considering that she knew there were a few other leopards around. Perhaps they were merely waiting to see if she'd come back. They should have taken the oppurtunity.

A part of her was tempted to track down the not too distant voice and offer her meal, but.. she didn't exactly know how that could go down. The other might actually be nice, or merely pretend to be nice, only to turn on her. The altter scenario was not something that she needed. The leopard stood on a branch, her tail curling softly in thought.

Once his face was mostly cleared of dirt, Mai shook himself once more before standing and starting off in the direction of more prey. He REALLY needed to get something in his belly, before it became growly enough to scare away prey. He froze when he smelled meat and a leopard. And looked up, blinking at the leopard in the tree he was near. Well...that would explain why he hadn't smelled them before. Downwind, with a breeze blowing AWAY from him.

"Uh...sorry for intruding. I can go around if you want." He knew some felines were testy about mealtime.

"It's alright." Chilali said, sounding slightly distracted as she was still thinking.

She looked at the male down below her, and at her meal. Chilali had managed to drag a good portion of wildebeest up into her tree. And as such, there was plenty for both her and her company down below. On the other hand though, when would a chance like this come around again? It wasn't everyday that she had enough food to spread out between a day or so. Chilali snorted sofly and smiled to herself. There was no use getting over her good nature, no matter how much she knew that she should be abit selfish.

"...I have more than enough to share, if you don't mind sharing lunch with a leopard."

Mai's ears perked, and he almost couldn't believe he'd gotten such an offer. He'd learned that, in the rogue lands, it was usually every beast for his(or her) self. But he'd grown up in a pride where every looked out for everyone else. He smiled with relief, and nodded. "I don't see why I'd mind. My mother was a leopard, and there were a few other leopards in the pride I grew up in."

He observed the tree a moment, figuring out if it could hold his weight and hers, then determined it looked sturdy enough. He...wasn't exactly small. He carefully made his way up (he'd never been much for climbing, despite his leopard blood), and smiled at the female. "My name's Maisha, and thank you a great deal. My original intended meal evaded me this morning and again just recently."

Chilali watched amusedly as the leopon made his way up her tree. It was the first time she'd spoken to a leopon before, but not the first time seeing one. She spotted one every now and again, finding them to be rather cute. That fluffy scruffy look on them was fantastic. .. In her opinion of course. He had some difficulty, most likely due to being part lion, as was evident by his size, but in the end he managed. Less than graceful, but he did it.

"Nice to meet you Maisha, I'm Chilali." She smiled at the leopon, chuckling abit. "Ah, so I heard. But it's no problem at all. It may be difficult out here, but .. it'd be abit less so if others looked out for each other more."

Mai looked a bit sheepish, then nodded in agreement. "That's how my pride has done so well. Always looking out for one another." He shoved down the swell of homesickness that tried pushing its way up. "I've found it to be a very different case out in the rogue lands. Part of why I'm so grateful to you for sharing your meal." He tilted his head in respect to her.

Chilali kept the soft smile on her face, being helpful was in her nature, especially if she had just seen for herself that another hadn't been able to catch a meal. Though it was interesting that Maisha mentioned he used to be in a pride. Was he still apart of it, and merely taking a break from Pridal life? Or did he quit? If you can quit. The leopardess wasn't too sure on Prides, as she'd never been a part of one. Chilali had always been on her own, but knew the basics of the groups.

"It's a part of who I am, Maisha. I'm just a kind individual."

The leopon was glad she was one of those (apparently) rare kind creatures in the rogue lands. "I thank Karma that he deigned my actions sufficient to run across such a kind leopard as you. Well...shall we enjoy the meal?" He'd probably put off her own eating with his chattering.

Chilali supposed that might be true. Do good in your life, and such good will come around for you. The leopard positioned the meal so that it was accessable to both her and Maisha, so that no one would have to go out of their way to stretch a muscle or ..end up falling out of the tree because of it. Not that the tree they dwelled within was all that high, but it was still tall enough to hurt you in you landed wrong.

"I think we shall."
