Welcome to my quest thread. This is, like all quest threads, a place to keep my character concepts and their potential custom forms.

|TERRIBLE|
TERRIBLE is the first character I am questing for. He is a god among beasts, a living legend, the gods' gift to nature: TERRIBLE. So bad that his birth name has been forgotten. So tough that he's eaten a badger, then ate the badger's father for dessert. So mean that he made a serpent join Sunhedge. So brutal that they whisper his name in fear in the Lands Beyond. They call him TERRIBLE, and he's come to do no good.
In reality, he's a scrawny little bird who's been picked on all his life. An exile from the far reaches of Woodhaven, he portrays himself as this rough, tough, swaggering brute. He's never finished a fight, always finding something better to do or refusing to do battle out of consideration from the other creature's family. Nobody who's surprised him with an attack has lived to tell the tale... possibly because he's always got one eye on the woods behind him and the other on an escape route or six. He's really kind of a complex character- Conan meets Rincewind with so many undertones of cowardice and machismo. I can't think of a more appropriate name than TERRIBLE.
It is not necessary that TERRIBLE be a custom character. What is necessary is that he is a male songbird and that I have the opportunity to pick up a few items along the way.
His stats will be 1 Body, 8 Mind, 8 Soul (if a custom- if not, take one point away from the mind).
His tribe will be Fleuve, which accounts for the 1 in body.

Personality: TERRIBLE is the greatest hero the forest has ever known, yet nobody's ever seen him win a fight... or told stories about him... or knows anything about him, actually. Except for him. He knows his legend, and he does his best to spread it. In reality, he's a great coward, one of the worst, and he's built like a twig. Rumors say he's got some skill in magic, but who actually knows? He's never been in a fight long enough to demonstrate it.
Description of appearance: A scrawny songbird colored about like a magpie. He has a nervous expression and several feathers are falling out.
Background: TERRIBLE was born to a single mother. His father had left long before he hatched. He was sickly all his childhood and rather smothered by his mother, who doted upon him. He grew up fearful and convinced the world was out to get him, yet at the same time he was enamored of stories of great heroes. When his mother died, he was convinced everybody was out to get him, and so he created a mythos around himself where he was the hero he wanted to be. He never meant to be a professional liar. Really he didn't. It just kind of... happened.

Scenario:
You've settled down in your chosen clan and so far the going has been smooth enough, until this morning that is.
The glow from outside is not a preemptive sunrise but instead the blaze of marauder's torches. A group of squirrel ruffians are invading your homestead and slaying anyone who dare cross their path. From your window you spy the father of the family of moles who live below you, the same fellow who helped you set up your roof not last week, approach with a staff to ward them off only torn asunder and left in the wake of their carnage, his eldest giving a shout from below.
What will be your part in this?
He wanted to run, and he felt horrible about it. As soon as he heard the first shouts, TERRIBLE began packing a small bag and preparing to flee the scene, all the while kicking himself for even thinking about this. A Robinson Racoon wouldn't do run. TERRIBLE wouldn't do run. And yet, here he was, leaping out the window, flying away, hoping his dark feathers weren't visible against the night sky. He could come back tomorrow, say that he'd been gone helping others the night before, survey the damage, pretend to be shocked, and vow to hunt down the marauders. Then he could disappear for a while and everything would work out just fine. Just like it always did.
He knew he shouldn't be so lucky. It was horrible what he did. Just terrible, one might say. But it wasn't like he knew how to get out of this life. People expected him to be the absent hero. That was his role in the story.

RENÉ
René very much needs to be a custom, for he's the first member of Eglantine's family I ever sussed out. His human form is pretty distinctive, and I'd like this to carry over into his Stonecrestian form.
René is Eglantine's baby brother. She's very, very fond of him. Very, very fond of him indeed, which is why it's so terrible that she murdered the love of his life.
René is a handsome golden tomcat with undertones of tabby. His whiskers are long and curly, and he's got that same face fluff as his sister. His eyes are bright blue and he's grinning happily. He's quite the coquettish dilettante, and he dresses the part. He wears a coat of peacock blue with fancy green embroidering and a large black hat, similar to this, only with more fanciness and peacock feathers coming off of it.
Personality-wise, René is a bisexual dandy who wants nothing more than to be kind and good and flirt with everybody. He'll end up either a Fleuve trader or he'll come home to his sister and live near her. Or she'll live near him. Either way, they do need to be together again!
I'd very much like Dave to do him, just because of the relation between him and Eglantine. But any colorist could do a fine job- this is just me being silly and sentimental.|.:introduction:.|.:character:.|.:form:.|
