User ImageHe yawned in a rather bored way as he flicked his tail, golden gaze peering at his surroundings as he searched for something to do. Chiyuki had been lounging lazily by himself ever since he lost contact with his sisters. His daughter had traveled off on her own a while ago, and he was alone. He didn't mind it, he supposed, but it was just so boring by himself. Heck, the lovely Lena he had spoken to a while ago had vanished...

"Urgh, I wouldn't even mind if Zahariah came back to bother me, that bothersome fellow would at least keep me from being bored!" he grumbled to himself. Fed up with the fact there was no one around to admire his charm and beauty, Chiyuki decided to stop being lazy and actually starting hunting and moving around for once. With a beautiful leap, he pounced off the rock he'd been laying on and began to search for any Ulaya who might be wandering around.

User ImageA ulaya so there was, but not jsut a wandering ulaya. Karis was a jokoa on a mission. She was on an epic journey; one of which she took every year about this time of year. She had been trudging through on her way to the mountains. Some areas were rather daft with snow. She found herself wishing she had left for this trip a few weeks ago before the snows had started to set in. Not that she minded the journey, it was just that it was always nicer if there had been someone to talk to. Then again, this was the story of her life. Always alone... Not a soul to bond with. When doing anything of any importance, noone was around. She was starting to realize as an adult that this trend was extremely despressing. She was a nice girl. What was it about her that made it so off-putting for anyone to associate with her? Just once... It'd be nice to make this trip and get there with pleasant memories of someone she chatted with, adventured with, slept with, and ate with.

She had been on the walk for a while, so she stopped to pause and stretch. What a life... if only... there was someone....

He grinned widely as he spotted a Ulaya that stood out against the snow. Light purple colored, and female. Even better! He loved females. Oh, not as much as the lovely Lena, but again, she had vanished, and he could not for the life of him know the reason why she had. She had only left his daughter as a gift and a reminder, and Kirei was always scolding him for his lofty behavior anyhow. "Hello there!" he called, practically dropping right in front of her. Being a leopard had its perks, such as being able to climb trees and silent paw-steps, yes... and he was quite excellent at his job, which was why he was a great hunter and could keep his coat glossy. He lived well, at any rate.

"...Pardon me, my lovely lady, but what brings you to such a dull place as this?" Well, it certainly seemed dull to him at any rate. He winked at her and smiled, sitting on his haunches as his tail lazily lashed back and forth. He was also a charmer--well, he thought he was, anyway--and who wouldn't love him? He was a god, after all, and of course, being a god, meant he was utterly beautiful in every way... and females were just the cream of the crop. All of them! Of course, only his sisters and daughter out-shined all the rest, but he would never let anyone know that... well, okay, maybe a little, but that wasn't important at the moment. "I am the great Chiyuki, my dear," he practically purred in a warm, happy tone. "And what is the name of someone with such lovely eyes?" If Kirei were here, she'd probably smack him for flirting around so much.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 3:56 pm

Why, she had just finished stretching. Her tail was just barely coming down out of the air when the male leopard had stepped in front of her. Her eyes widened a tad frightened, and her fur rippled from the top of her head up her spine into her tail. However, her shock at having someone approach her so boldly mellowed out.

In fact, she wasn't sure if she should be concerned when all doubts melted away at his rhetoric. Karis was certainly starting to fall for it. It was at times like this that she was rather naive about other ulaya. She was just too nice at times, and she often just believed them like a sweet, gullible little lady.

His nice words were like a blanket around cold shoulders. Their enticing lures hooked her. She started to look him over. After a while, she found she couldn't take her eyes off of him. His every word to her ears were like honey to a bear's tongue. She grinned finally. "I am in this extremely dull place good sir... Because I am on an expedition." Oh..did that sound smart and fancy? She hoped it did sound at least slightly impressive.

"Oh. I'm Karis. How amazing that I could meet someone who's a Great! I only once met another ulaya who seemed the slightest bit special, but that was a long time ago and feels like it may have been a dream."

She then smiled hard and tried to reign in her pleasure at his flirtings. The flattery of it all was getting to her far too well for any female to keep any wisdom in the matter. The compliment of her eyes only served to subconsciously maintain better eye contact with him. Before she knew it, she was flirting back through her gestures, posture, and body language.

He blinked, managing to hide his bemusement and simply smiled unerringly at her. "Karis is such a becoming name, dear," he purred, chuckling. "And expedition? You seem rather determined, I see," He continued, looking surprised. Chiyuki was mentally jumping around in gleeful measures of how he had charmed(?) yet another female, ignoring his subconscious about how he would break another heart if he wasn't careful. He was, by no means, the kind of male to go around breaking hearts. He felt pained every time he did, because he didn't mean for it go so far. Ugh, enough of these guilt-ridden thoughts!

He tilted his head as he looked her over. "You seem kind of, ah, ill-prepared for a long journey, Karis." In fact, he noticed she had acted frightened of him when he'd popped out in front of her, but that reaction would be expected if someone suddenly jumped out seemingly from nowhere. "Haha, I'm not that great, merely a beautiful being, you see," he tried to downplay his image by being modest, but he'd already seen he'd gotten her hook, line, and sinker. She was already benevolently charmed, all he had to do was spur more compliments--she really was a lovely creature, he had to be honest--but then, all females in his eyes were beautiful. "Hm... Karis, I would like to accompany you, for you see, I am rather bored these days, with nothing to do. Would you mind?"

From his personal observations she seemed like a helpless creature, naive to the world and obviously unable to tell if she was going to deal with pain both physical and mental. Ah, well, he was bored, so why not? He could even keep other idiotic males out of her fur! Although, that meant getting dirty, and how he hated dirtying his glossy white-silver coat!

Karis blinked wide with understanding as she chewed on and digested that tidbit line of him wanting to go along. Was this guy serious? Like.. really? It was as if he had read her very mind. Had this guy a piercing ability to see right through to her very core? Oh, the poor thing had spent far too much time all by herself to have known any better. She of course thought nothing of having him come along for protection. She was still too naive to really think about this as a necessity in long travel. After all, she had yet to run into any monstrous ulaya.

"Well, you are right. You're one of the most beautiful beings I've ever talked with. Though, it might be fair to warn you I don't really know very many people. It is a new year though. I am thinking this year... will be the year I make some friends.. or ... form some bonds worth making an effort to maintain."

Then, she also thought while saying all of that while she's in the presence of someone so important since he was apparently a Lord, Noble, or some other magnificent creature; she ought to be on her best lady like behavior.

"I'd... be most honored and grateful even," as she spoke, she daintily moved a paw over her heart while the other paw smoothed a random patch of fur down, "if you wanted to go with me. I was just thinking when I left my thicket that I had been wishing for some company. Here you are.. It's almost as if you were like a guardian angel.... or.. or... " Then, her eyes glazed over.

She was about to say it was like as if a God had come down and visited her, but she relented to speak this thought aloud. She didn't want to seem completely like some stupid little girl. Also, she didn't want to seem too eager. For some reason, she had noticed that when one acted too eager around the guys; they lost interest too quickly. She thought if she were gonna gain a fellow traveler; she wanted to keep him around at least longer than a few minutes.

He chuckled gently, amused at her attempt of being truly lady-like, though he did not say so aloud. "Dear lady, no need to act formal with me, for this is how I simply am," He explained. Yes, he was all flirtations and charm, exuding his outer image and taking advantage of the silly ones who had no idea. Well, he welcomed all females, but of course, males were... He quickly banished the thought as he smiled cheerfully. "And accompany you I shall, Karis! I could use companionship, and what better way to have it than to travel with a companion as lovely as yourself?" She really did have beautiful blue eyes, but ah, his own golden gaze was just as beautiful. No, he certainly did not mind being in the presence of a pretty creature like this purple Ulaya female.

"Well, Karis, I know many Ulaya myself, but I have not seen any of them in some time. Shall we being your journey? I feel that this journey will allow you to grow more beautifully!" He declared, making a dramatic pose as he did so, trying to make her laugh. It was a silly pose, where he stretch himself out on purpose--though of course to his mind he was still quite graceful and beautiful even in this strange post--and his tail was straight out, and his claws stretched out from his paws. Chiyuki winked at her as he settled himself back down into a more comfortable position.

"Forming bonds is important, Karis; I see you know this well. It pleases me to know I've run across a pure Ulaya. It's rare to see your kind..." Okay, he spun a kind of big lie, but hey, she seemed naive enough not to be able to tell he told a lie. Ah, well. He would watch over her and make sure she didn't get in too much trouble.

Karis was filled with absolute glee. She dropped the trying extra hard to look prim and proper. It wasn't like she really needed to do all that since she was just a good girl by nature. She wasn't the type to act overly tomboyish. The only thing she had in common with the tomboys was her inability to make friends with the females very well.

Moreover, since life had left her so frequently alone, she didn't really believe that she could be of any measureable use or beauty. Because of these experiences, she didn't actually believe this spotted friend actually thought she was beautiful. She might be gullible, but she did at least have one truth. She had long ago came to the terms that something about her spurned others away. That was what she had reasoned to herself why she never had friends or lovers around.

Still, Karis smiled at him and stretched to get going. She was feeling the eagerness to be on the move spilling out of her. Obviously, he had that same feeling. "Well, I think traveling with a companion would be better than on your own," she started as she began to move out east following the river as it wound its way to the east and later on towards the north. "I think it makes the time feel like it would go by faster. When you walk by yourself, you can just be alone in your thoughts. I guess that would be ok if you really needed a break from overbearing family; but when you're alone like I am... That empty space is filled with all the wonderings of what I did to deserve my life."

Then, she looked aside and chided herself for being so careless to reveal such a personal inner doubt she had about herself. She hoped that slip up wouldn't come back to haunt her later. She would have to hope he wouldn't judge her too harshly for it.

He followed her at (surprisingly) a relative companionable distance, close enough for idle talk but far enough away she didn't feel like he invaded her personal space. Yes, he was that charitable, thank you very much, and he intended to charm his way far enough to entire an admirer, even if Karis might hate him later. "You poor dear," he spoke quietly, understanding her depression. "Perhaps if I am with you, you will find more companions and even love." He just hoped that Karis didn't fall in love with him. He wouldn't be able to handle that. Admire him, yes, love him, no. He would be forced to crush her heart, and he felt ill thinking of doing that. Perhaps he could teach her some trials of life as they traveled together; he had learned quite a few himself thanks to raising his daughter.

"Yes, time surely does fly by," he agreed, "in fact, are you hungry? I'm rather famished myself--should we hunt for a squirrel?" He was rather hungry indeed, for he had gone all day without a meal. And what better way to charm a lady then to offer her something to eat? He was, after all, an excellent hunter as well as many other things. He held great pride for his skill, which of course was why he considered him a god. Not that many other Ulaya knew that, but that was fine. He would eventually gather plenty of followers and admirers. "If not squirrel, I shall see about us getting a delicious winter hare. They're lovely this time of year and certainly far more common to find."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 6:16 pm

Karis just turned her head to stare at him with amazement. She felt naively surprised at how he kept seeming to know just the right thing to bring up with her. She felt it uncanny, but she decided not to say a word about it. She wasn't going to make herself seem desperate. "Oh, why yes... I'm famished." Then, she looked a little embarrassed. Here he was talking about meat.

She blushed a little as she looked at him meekly. "Well, I might not be of a whole lot of help. I really am just not a hunter. It don't have it in me to kill the forest creatures. I've never tasted squirrel or rabbit. I usually just eat... grass... herbs... and when the weather is good; i eat lots of fruit. With the winter here, it's really taking my food options down quite a bit."

Karis started to frown. She realized then that in verbalizing this fact. She knew she had been taking to long to head out to the mountain, and she felt like she should have found something to gather food on the way. She was beginning to pile self doubt up inside herself. When she got to the mountain, she might end up having a hard winter at this rate.

She started to walk briskly and slowly and unconsciously drifting in her walk closer to him. "I hope you're right. Maybe already meeting you is a token of good luck. Maybe it's a sign that my luck will be different soon. My solitude life will come to an end." What was that pleasant feeling that gave her right then. Ah, yes... hope... and possibly.. just the tiniest bit of faith.

Seeing how he was making her more and more depressed, Chiyuki frantically searched his mind to figure out how to cheer her up all the while his gaze searched for that one little twitch. Spying something that looked out of place with the snow, but to any other inexperienced hunter would seem like just snow, he pounced, killing the winter rabbit instantly. He walked back with the rabbit in his mouth, dropping it at Karis's paws. "Here you are, my dear," he said in a kind voice. As much as he enjoyed charming his way through a female's heart, he didn't mind backing off a bit just to make sure they were okay. "You eat plants? My dear, this weather would give you a hard time, especially since herbs and fruits rarely grow. In this case, you should eat plenty of meat--not only will it warm you up, but you'll have far more energy than some meager plants will give you." With an impromptu shove, he sat back and looked at her expectantly.

He wanted her to eat, and after she ate, he would go for food himself. He knew how to keep the both of them full during this season, and it helped that he himself was a great hunter. Yes, he realized, he had to make sure Karis reached her goal unharmed and not starving. Yuki decided it was good he was traveling with her; he wouldn't be able to bear it if one of his female soon-to-be admirers suddenly died of starvation! No, that wouldn't do. And Karis was such a lovely little thing! And still he ignored the warnings and scoldings of his family that pounded at the back of his mind. He wasn't trying to make the female fall in love with him! So he did not feel guilty about taking care of her. Ignoring his subconscious (again), he tilted his head. "I know you feel slightly sad at perhaps what seems a brutal way to live, but we are predators, Karis. We cannot survive simply on plants." He tapped her under her chin gently with his tail. "Eat," he encouraged. "I shall find food for myself when you are through."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 6:50 pm

Karis just stared at the meat. She sniffed at it. She disliked the idea of eating it while there was blood on it still. Wouldn't that dirty her pelt? She prodded at the coney with her paw. Then, she looked back up at him. "Do you eat the fur and all? Isn't there some way to like.. cook the blood out or something? I feel really weird to eat it with blood on it."

She pretty much knew she was making herself look whimpy and pathetic, but she just couldn't help herself. She felt weird to eat something in that manner. Even so, deep down, she was feeling actually happy that someone was here trying to feed her. It felt like the most taken care of she had felt in a long time. Then, she chewed on her bottom lip. She looked up at him out t he sides of her eyes. "Um. You don't have to sit so far away if you don't want. I don't really have any personal space hangups."

Then, she wondered if she were on a verge of just appearing like the most pathetic ulaya he had ever met in his life. Still, he was being so kind. She just wanted to enjoy experiencing this for a while. She just wanted to bask in the moment of having someone here with her. He talked so intelligently. He seemed to be more mindful of what she needed than her ownself did. She hoped this Chiyuki would become a steadfast friend. Maybe someone she could come to rely on. Her eyes become overwhelmed with the feeling of hope for that very thing.

He laughed at her look of uncertainty as he approached her and sat next to her, wrapping his tail around her out of habit as he de-furred the dead rabbit. He sliced it into more appetizing smaller pieces with artful skill, skewering it carefully so as to not splatter blood on either of them. "I do not know what you mean by "cooking," dear Karis, and while I cannot help the bloody part, but I must inform you that it is part of our diet, and the blood warms you during this chilly weather." Knowing she probably wouldn't want to try it until he himself ate a piece, he did so, choosing one of the much smaller pieces to snap up in a small bite. He had made sure to cut the meat into a small, bite-sized pieces, but he left the juiciest ones for her. Hm, I must find a tree soon to sharpen my claws... He really hated to dull his beautiful claws, so he was constantly sharpening them.

His chest rumbled into a purr as he savored the meat he had eaten. It was a good one, the rabbit he caught. Perfect for a beginner's start on eating meat, especially for a shy female like Karis. He smiled to himself as he remembered how he would often do this for his sisters until they were old enough to hunt for themselves. His entire family were all great hunters, and he was quite proud of them. Of course, only his sisters were slightly better than him when it came to hunting during the spring and summer seasons, but the fall and winter seasons were his specialty. He used his tail to gently tickle Karis's back paw as he chuckled. "I understand you don't like meat, but you must understand that to survive, I will force you to eat it. Herbs, berries, and all manner of plants are vacant during winter, and if you're intending to go farther north, how do you expect to survive?"

He smiled broadly at her with a wink. "In which case, I shall accompany you to make sure you eat well, are unharmed, and reach your destination, sweet one. It won't do for you to be lose your beauty; after all, no male enjoys the company of a lean-looking female..." he trailed off, and the chuckled, "But of course, with your adorable personality, I'm sure any male would love to hunt for you and make you comfortable. If even I, who am beautiful and great, can see how lovely and sweet you are, I find it hard to believe no other male would." He lashed his tail around Karis's paws affectionately, trying to emphasize his point as he purred soothingly.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:03 pm

Karis's sapphire blue eyes boggled at watching him eat the piece he did. Then his instruction about how he'd make her do it. ~Oh, great...~ She thought to herself. She had never been forced to eat anything before, but she surmised that she wouldn't like it one bit. She then blinked and looked at the prepared coney in front of her. She then blinked and looked sideways out of her eyes at Yuki.

Then, she took a deep breath, a huge swallow for nerves, and she held a paw up as she flicked her claw out of it. She pierced a somewhat substantial piece with her middle one and popped it in her mouth. She closed her eyes, pretending she was chewing into a giant strawberry. She imagined the blood was some lucious apple drippings mingled with maple sap off of a forest tree.

After swallowing, she realized that he was in fact correct. The blood gently started to warm her stomach. Then, she looked around nervously as she felt the food making her stomach rumble for more. She bent down to reuse the same claw. She pierced each nail on teh same paw into each a piece of meat eating them all quickly off of her claws. She quickly finished it, giving away how famished she had been.

Her eyes had been moving back and forth as she listened to his reprove. She gave some meditation in her chewing to his comment about boys not wanting a skinny girl. Then, as she finished chewing. She looked up at him. "I don't have blood or anything on my face... do I? If I ever do, you have to tell me. You can't let me walk around being dirty if I were to miss something."

She then let a smile slip through. The company, food, and gentle touches all were making her feel a sense of merriment. It was a sentiment that felt new to her. She thought it was a welcome feeling. She could certainly stand to experience more of this in her life.

Chiyuki blinked as the food vanished rather quickly, and he could only smile to himself at the poor female. She must have been far hungrier than she realized, if she ate that quickly. He caressed her paws again as he took in their surroundings in an absent minded kind of way. Spying some odd movement--or did it simply look discolored?--he returned his gaze back to the purple female who had finished her first meat rather fast. "You were rather hungry after all," he said to himself, and then eyed their surroundings again just as Karis commented about her looks.

He laughed, moving from her side as he prepared himself to go for another hunt. "No, dear one, you have no blood on you. And I promise you I will tell you if you need bathing," he teased with a wink. "Now then... Karis, stay here. I must find myself something to eat, and you rest and make sure your food is well-settled. I will return shortly." Chiyuki intended to only leave long enough to hunt, kill, and eat, as he had no idea what trouble an innocent and naive Ulaya like Karis could get into. He had to hurry; for all he knew, Karis could end up being kidnapped before he returned. With his final comments, he dashed out into the snow, blending in quickly.

Spotting another snow hare, he pounced, killing it with a swift slash to its neck, and devouring it in skillful bites. He was always careful to make sure he had no blood on his muzzle. Finished, his ear twitched. What was that? Looking around, he found nothing that seemed dangerous, and immediately made his way back to the waiting female. It wouldn't be charming or gentlemanly of him to leave her by herself, after all. Yuki had to give Karis some credit, however; she was a brave little thing, willing to strike out on her own personal journey with nary a clue of all the possible dangers.
