Though still winter, it was a little warmer than usual that day, and there wasn't much ice or snow around at all because of it. It seemed as good as any to go out for a hike essentially. Shun awaited outside of the dorm for Mitsu that morning, standing by his bike so they could go out. He warned her ahead of time to dress warmly since they'd be outside the entire time, but he hadn't really given her exact details aside from saying they were going to go hiking a little ways from here.
The bike was primarily black, with a sharp, gold design painted onto it. Resting on it was an extra helmet for Mitsu.
It was going to be nice being able to spend time with her without the vampire around. There was only so much of Desmond he could take. But it was also nice that Mitsu seemed to be doing much better as of late, though he couldn't help but feel it wasn't because of anything he did. That was still frustrating in its own right, and it didn't help that he still struggled to figure himself out. Things happened and he didn't understand why he felt a certain way about them. He had hoped he'd be able to get it by now, but little progress had been made.

Leaving the dorm Mitsu appeared to have taken Shun's advice. She had a jacket on over a hoodie with a shirt under that to keep warm. A pair of black gloves covered her hands and a cute beanie with a panda on it covered her head coming down far enough to cover her pointed ears. Other than that she had jeans on and had managed to find a sturdy pair of shoes since Shun said they would be walking a lot.
"Hey," she called as she approached, a smile on her face. Smiles had been more frequent as of late for more than a few reasons. It was nice that Desmond was back around, she was starting to put the whole event that had happened behind her....but the true help had come from begging Suto to help fix her mental state of mind. It had taken a bit of pleading and a promise she wished she didn't have to make but he had made her pills to take and so far they were helping. "So where are we off to today?"
Her eyes then settled on the bike, face full of curiosity. Shun had said he had a motorcycle but she hadn't gotten the chance to see it yet. She wondered....how they would be sitting together on it.

Seeing Mitsu come, a sort of light appeared in Shun's eyes though his overall expression wasn't too different from the normal around her. Her smile was always a welcome sight for him. Nodding to her in response, he took a hold of the extra helmet and offered it to her.
"We're headed up north. There's a pretty big forest preserve there and a few nice outlook points," he said while motioning in the general direction, "Nothing too exciting I guess but.."
He basically wanted an excuse to be around her. Shun was aware of this but he had trouble actually saying or admitting that bit. It just seemed a little awkward for him and went along with the confusion since he didn't completely understand why he enjoyed her presence as much as he did.
"Do you want to ride in front or behind me?"

"Up north?" Mitsu took the helmet and looked it over for a moment. When asked where to sit she sort of faltered. Up front would almost be like sitting in his lap but behind him she would have to cling to him to hold on.....both seemed awkward making her blush slightly. "Uhh...I really don't know. I've never been on a motorcycle. W...what would be easier for you?" She had her tail to worry about too. There was a subtle fear that it would get caught in the wheels.

Taking a moment to think on that, Shun glanced at her tail briefly to figure out what would be best for them. Neither way seemed to be better or worse than the other.
"Behind me would be easier though it might be better for your tail if you sat up front," he noted before putting his helmet on, "It doesn't matter a whole lot either way, just make sure you hold on tight if you decide to go behind me."

"I guess I'll ride in the back," If that was easier. "I'll just keep my tail between us." Fiddling with the helmet a bit more she finally slipped it on her head. It was a little big and was rather heavy but the inside was cushioned for comfort. Moving toward the bike Mitsu waited for Shun to get on before she sat behind him. Getting on the bike was a little awkward at first but she managed and after pulling her tail up in between them she hesitantly scooted a little closer. He had said to hold on tight so her hands made their way around his waist, a blush covering her face for no good reason at all. This wasn't intimate, they were just friends....on a bike....pressed so close that someone couldn't even slip a piece of paper between them. "R...ready."

Climbing onto the bike, Shun waited for Mitsu to be on before turning on the engine. Feeling her hold onto him, he took a moment to enjoy it. For something so small, it was just… nice.
“Hang on tight,” he said again before starting to head on towards their destination. Since he wasn’t really sure how she was going to take riding, he didn’t drive too quickly. In a sense he was also being slightly more careful than he normally would on the road since her well being was rather important to him. This basically meant to ‘normal’ driving since he tended to be a bit reckless on the bike normally.

When the bike took off Mitsu gripped Shun a little tighter, the sudden movement making her jump. After a little bit she relaxed and started to take in the road and what they were passing with interest. Shun seemed to handle the machine well so her fear that they would crash and die didn't last for long.

Over all the ride was fairly relaxing, which allowed Shun's mind to do a little bit of wandering on the longer stretches of road when they were further away from the main town area. There were no close calls or anything of the matter, so the way there was quite smooth.
Some time later, he brought the bike to a stop in the lot near where they were going to start hiking. Sitting up straighter now that the ride was done with for the time being, he glanced behind at the girl.
"We're here. The ride wasn't too bad for you was it?"

The ride had been rather smooth and not too frightening which was nice. It was quiet though since Mitsu really couldn't speak with the helmet on or talk over the noise of the road. So there was lots of time to think....about so many things. Things that would have been better left in the back most corner of her mind. Like how, even with the clothes, Shun was warm to the touch. Various things branched off from that thought and by the time they finally came to a stop she was flustered and embarrassed with herself.
"W...what?" She could barely hear Shun with the helmet still on so she removed it, her beanie coming off with it leaving her hair an instant mess. "I couldn't hear you sorry." She said quietly trying to smooth down her hair as she grabbed for her cap. "That was fun though."

Running a hand through his hair to fix it a bit, he looked at Mitsu to see that the helmet hadn't been all too nice to her in that regard as well.
"I just was making sure the ride wasn't uncomfortable for you," he said while blinking for the moment. Shun then hesitantly brought a hand up to brush some of the hair from her face for her. Letting his hand fall back down nearly immediately, he looked over towards the forest. He didn't really know why he kept feeling compelled to do things like that..
"The spot I want to take you is over this way. It shouldn't get too long to get there I think," he added while grabbing the bag that had been attached to the bike to bring with.

Mitsu paused when Shun reached up to push the hair out of her face. Just as soon as his hand had completed the deed it was gone though leaving her with a look of confusion as she climbed off the back of the bike.
"Okay." Setting the helmet with the bike Mitsu noted the bag that Shun had brought wondering what was inside it. Maybe he had brought snacks since he said they would be hiking a lot?
Following him down the trail Mitsu looked over the evergreens since they were the only tree with greenery at the moment. The forest was mostly filled with them but it had its fair share of bare leafless trees as well. "So what are we going to see?"

Having missed the look of confusion, Shun was still looking on towards the forest as he slung the bag over his shoulder.
"The spot is a lookout point. Since it's pretty clear, we should be able to see a fair amount of the land around us. Probably even the school to an extent," he explained while glancing back at her, "It isn't too easy to get there, but... the view is rather nice I think. Hopefully you'll find it worth the journey."
With a soft expression, his features almost cracked into what could have been a smile for a split second. Someone who didn't know him all that much probably wouldn't have picked up on it at all.
"Oh yeah, if you need to take a break at any time, just let me know. We have time."

"Sounds nice," Seeing the small hint of a smile, Mitsu smiled warmly at the assassin. "So is it just a long hike uphill or something?" Mitsu asked curiously. The thought of being up high...wasn't too appealing but sitting on a hilltop really wasn't all that bad. There were worse things.

Seeing the warm smile gave him an odd feeling deep within, but he didn't try to think on that too much this time around. When she asked about the trek, he hesitated a little.
"Well, it's faster if we climb it. The walk up is a lot more roundabout and takes quite a bit longer," he said, "The climb isn't hard though, and I brought the stuff we need to get up there."
