heart to say that everybody will someday live happy with one another and never think a mean thought is fairy-tale rubish!! It's probably not even possible that the world will be able to get by without some war for any significant amount of time. But can things be better than they are now? Yes. Could there be a future where kids in poor countries don't starve while knowing that somewhere across an ocean someone is dying at the same time from obesity? There better be. To achieve perfection is impossble, but to see the world change around us depends solely on our next footsteps. heart

You're just choosing to ignore it with the ultimatum "If war exists at all then it is not possible for peace to exist anywhere..." which is frankly not true. I'm not denying war exists, I'm just pointing out it's folly to believe peace doesn't.

The world has forever and for always had so many problems. It really causes us to lose sight of the positive things that go on as well. However, as far as total world peace goes, it can't possibly exist. Theoretically (in a perfect world), it sounds achievable, but there is no perfection, especially in mankind. There will always be someone who tries to pick a fight with someone else over something, whether it be a different philosophy or just solely determined by who they are. Can things get better to a degree? Yes, but it will never be at the level we dream and wish for.

Sure, some places are experiencing some peace, but as there is still murder, war, rape, other crimes against people, etc, there is no world peace. And as much as world peace is an ideal, there will always be extremist of religion, culture, and pretty much any type of group which will cause problems. Extremist are generally bad news. If people could work together, with tolerance and moderation in mind, there would be fewer problems.

Had the French Revolution not happened, then Napoleon would not have burst into the scene. Had Napoleon not been defeated in Russia, then World Wars I & II could have been avoided.
Just because something causes problems does not mean it does not exist, nor does it mean that its claims are not true. It may mean that a person does not want it to be true, but that is not the same thing at all. From a logical perspective, one point does not lead to the other – there are plenty of things which cause violence (human greed, racism, etc.) which clearly exist.
In the case of the Crusades, it was done in defense of Christendom against Islamic expansionism.
